Some sensitive digital components on the motherboard are vulnerable to power surges, the excessive current may cause your system to malfunction immediately. ASRock Full Spike Protection includes various technologies to prevent your motherboard's components from being damaged by these unexpected voltage spikes.

AM1H-ITX What you've never understood about your computer is that it is scared to death of water, H2O, humidity or whatever you'd like to name it. And even though you do not see the water, actually there may be lots of excessive moist in the air killing your motherboard silently and slowly. No, your motherboard doesn't melt when in contact with water like the wicked witch of the west, but it dies of short circuit. Luckily, ASRock has a new High Density Glass Fabric PCB design that reduces the gaps between the PCB layers to protect the motherboard against electrical shorts caused by humidity.
AM1H-ITX AM1H-ITX ASRock is determined to use high quality materials to build the best motherboards, that's why all the capacitors on this motherboard are built with 100% solid capacitors. These solid capacitors bring long lasting durability and ultra stable performance.
AM1H-ITX Two USB 3.0 5Gbps ports plus 2 SATA3 6Gbps ports for supporting all of your peripherals with fast data transfer speed.
AM1H-ITX Even though this convenient mini-PCIe slot cannot be used for cooking scrumptious bacon pancakes, it still proves itself to be very useful for connecting an Wi-Fi card that grants wireless Internet connection.
AM1H-ITX This ASRock motherboard uses a Realtek Gigabit LAN chip to support extremely fast Internet connections.
AM1H-ITX Never run out of graphics outputs! In case you have to connect four different types of monitors all at once, this motherboard supports all four kinds of graphics D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI and DispalyPort.

AM1H-ITX Easy Driver Installer

For users that don't have an optical disk drive to install the drivers from our support CD, Easy Driver Installer is a handy tool in the UEFI that installs the LAN driver to your system via an USB storage device, then downloads and installs the other required drivers automatically through the Internet. Completely no CD or optical disk drive required!
AM1H-ITX AM1H-ITX Dehumidifier

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Tiny. cheap. Everything I needed. Has DC-in jack. Used for pfsense firewall and was super easy to configure / rock solid stable. Even with legacy booting enabled it boots right into pfsense super fast. The included tiny cpu fan with these cheap AMD cpus is actually totally silent in use (it's 3-pin too).
PCIe slot being used for dual gig Intel NIC.
BIOS is very quick (nice that it has UEFI).

Cons: None? I just wish it gave you more suggestions on AC-DC power adapters. First one I bought though was cheap and rock solid though.

Other Thoughts: Bought a "ASUS 19V 3.42A 65W AC Adapter for Asus" from Amzn and it's been working flawlessly to power this thing. Only gets warm to the touch, draws 19-21w during idle and load. Made by Delta. ASIN: B004VS72W6 Item model number: PA-1650-66 feels very solid and well made. Cheaper than $20!

That total power usage, these are the following components: Sempron 2650, single stick of 1.35v ram, this motherboard, stock cpu fan, 120mm fan from case, Intel dual gig nic, and a cheap second-hand Samsung SLC SSD (probably uses about a watt or so). I disabled the built-in ethernet and audio.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Board

Pros: This has just about every feature one could want. It has a very nice layout and when paired with the right CPU and RAM and if you want even an SSD from AMD you have a really fast and light weight machine.

Cons: No cons.

Other Thoughts: Like I said in the CPU review, you can go nuts and pair this with either a GT 740 4GB or a GTX 750 2GB, you can have a pretty competent gaming machine.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away. Very unstable

Pros: - Pack of features for low price.
- Unlike other manufacturer, this comes with full 1xPCIE and 4xSATA3 ports.
- Supports external power

Cons: It is absolutely unstable. When I checked couple of one-egg reviews before I made a purchase, I was bit concerned, but I gave a shot.

I used to run Sapphire E350 board on my low-power development server which has been running absolutely stable for more than a year, but it was bit slow, so I decided to upgrade.

I am in absolute nightmare. I purchased this board and Sempron 3850 Quad to run this as low-power development server. As other reviewer experienced, Server randomly restarts with Kernel-Power error in event log, and randomly looses connection to 2 of SSDs (Crucial MX100).
OS is windows 8.1 Professional, and memory is G.Skill 16GB (8GBx2). I know this memory is not an issue - fully passed Memtest 5.2 under this board.

When it runs, it runs great, but it keeps rebooting itself every hour or so without kernel-power event.
I have multiple servers and laptops in my home, and ample number of PC parts, so I tried to replace couple of parts:

Swapping 3x Power supplies (Seasonic / RaidMax / Zalman). All above Bronze rating.
Swapping 2x Memory (All DDR3-1333, G.Skill / Kingstone)
Swapping 1x SSD (Samsung 830)

I also tried to turn off some of powersaving features in BIOS.
I turned off Cool and Quiet, C6 core sleep. No luck whatsoever.

Regardless what I try, I am still getting this random reboot. If this is for office use, I can live with that, but I bought this to run as 24x7 development server to mainly run as daily code build /web-service/web-server. I must have this server keep alive all the time.

After week of full of trials and frustration, I ordered ASUS AM1H board. Once I get the board, I will return this product.

Please stay away from this board, if you are planning to run 24/7 environment like me.
Please don't make the same mistake like I did, and do not waste your time on this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat with Linux

Pros: This is a terriffic little board, and the DC-in jack seals the deal, if you are trying to build something small and quiet. I've done two builds with this board, a HTPC for the front room and a server for the mythtv backend as well as home network storage and it runs backuppc as well. I'm running Debian linux - just make sure you add the backports repository to get the latest kernel, and install the proprietary ATI Catalyst drivers from the Debian repository so you get flawless HDMI output.

The bios even lets you turn off the front led display after boot - perfect for a HTPC.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: If you hunt around on Newegg, you can find some quieter small fans for the CPU, though the stock fan is not loud. I wish there were some better CPU heatsink options around, and/or little fans with PWM, but that may come.

1 out of 5 eggsRMAd this board

Pros: Features

Cons: Built system, it rebooted as part of build and would not power on again, I was using the external power connector. So I connected an atx power supply to internal connector, same problem, board wouldn't power on,

So board is being RMAd, really wish this didn't happen as board is loaded with features but I am going to change boards as I lost faith in this board after seeing other reviews and my own experience.

2 out of 5 eggsUPDATE: Cannot Recommend, Wish I Could

Pros: Features:
DC input jack
Display Port
Layout (for ITX purposes)
USB 3.0 Header for Front Panel

Cons: Still cannot achieve stability.

Asrock Recommended RAM List is Full of OLD memories, many of which are no longer available or difficult to obtain.

After swapping GOOD RAM (ADATA XPG) which wouldn't work in
this board, I selected (New) Crucial CT2KIT102464BA160B (1 stick of 8GB from a pair)and the board(s) finally installed Windows 8.1

Random Reboots when installing:
Video Drivers and Asmedia USB Drivers (From Asrock Webpage)
USB 3.0 Thumb Drives Disappear(WIN8.1 Asmedia Driver Issue)
USB Printer Install reboots the machine

Machine will Run great for awhile, then reboot with Event Viewer Errors ranging from Bugcheck to Windows Kernel Power, etc.

This is across:
multiple boards(4 so far,)
multiple power Supplies (both ATX (2 brands & DC (2 brands @19V) multiple RAM Brands (AData, Crucial, Patriot)
multiple AMD5350 CPUs

Other Thoughts: Still hoping to achieve zen with these boards.

When they work, they are great.

Will keep trying and Update.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for mini pc

Pros: Perfect board for very small pc. Built a case for it that is only 7.75" by 3" by 8.5". Have had no problems, and with an AMD 5350 and 8gb ram and 640gb 2.5" drive, is much faster than I thought it would be. Used an old HP laptop power supply to power it. Very nice display, good audio.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsDC-in Jack

Pros: DC-In Jack, let's be honest.
That's the selling point.

Asrock saw an opportunity and took it, no one else in this niche market of AM1 boards is doing it.
Thus, Asrock is getting some serious sales on this baby.

I haven't had any issues at all, it's in a custom built case, and the Mini-PCI-e slot was fantastic, working fine with my AC dual band card.

My setup

Athlon 5350
SPI Power Adapter
Intel 7260 AC + Bluetooth
Crucial M500 120GB SSD
Custom built case

All is well with this unit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Asrock, I didn't trust your company before this purchase.

I trust your company after this purchase.
Good product. Thanks.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfect

Pros: Works as advertised. No glitches during setup. I'm using this as a bedroom HTPC that is passiviley cooled with a GELID Solutions Slim Hero heatsink that was modified to fit the board (I ditched the fan that came with it).

Cons: Never seems to be on sale here, so I bought it somewhere else bundled with a 5350.

Other Thoughts: It's great to have a completely silent HTPC.
No PSU fan.
No CPU fan.
No case fans (well ventilated case).
