5 out of 5 eggsKiller performance

Pros: Installed a i7 4790k with DDR3 2133 GSkill kit. Great performance overall for the price range of this motherboard.

Easy to navigate BIOS interface , Easy Raid setup control.

Overclocked the CPU to 4.7ghz and the memory to 2400

Cons: The font on the jumper connection is a tad small.

I do not like the placement of the SATA connectors so close to the corner of the board.

Other Thoughts: I really could not see a difference between a Killer NIC and your standard intel one.

4 out of 5 eggsExactly what you pay for and hem some!

Pros: awesome single card solution with everything you need. (well at least what I needed) bote3d right up auto detected correct memory speed. Over clocks with ease. never seen a board shipped so perfectly. there is so much protection I it was comforting when unboxing.

Cons: board is very flimsy as stated in a few reviews had me nervous I was going to snap the board in half mounting the heat sink and ram. thankfully didn't break. took a egg off due to flimsy board

Other Thoughts: if your just using a single card solution this is the board to get imo.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for a 1 card gamer.

Pros: 1)Price
2) quality Nic ----------Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200 Series
3) uses M.2 along with sata
4)nice colors
5) if you use 1 really good gpu like a sapphire r9 290 pull the stock fans and
add the prolimatech pro-mk-26-bk cooler

you can make a beast a true 1 card beast. that never overheats .

Cons: I have always found fan speed controls to be a bit flakey with asrock board this has that same problem. I get around it by using as many 7 inch fans with quiet speeds. I use a larger case the fractal design r4. nice and cool

Other Thoughts: I run an asus r9 290 with the prolimatech pro-mk-26-bk cooler .. I run the i7-4790
cpu it works very well with this. I use a samsung ssd. A seasonic platinum 760 watt psu a fractal design 4 case. A pair of samsung 4gb low profile ram. this is a nice piece of gear. if you want a 1 gpu gamer. pric is right

5 out of 5 eggsASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easy BIOS to work with.
Software that comes with is easy to use.
Has been reliable thus far (a little over a month).

Cons: Some of the software included in the package is Intel related and basically useless in my needs. The good thing thing about the bundle is that you are able to pick and choose what pieces of software you want to install along with the drivers.
You'll need to do a BIOS update, that's not a problem for most people.
The board comes preset to 1333mhz for RAM, you'll need to manually change that if you have higher.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price.
Z97.
Bios was already updated to P1.30.
Comes with a set of new SATA cables.
Overall construction seems solid.

Cons: Fan presets in the bios don't necessarily register as what I actually chose, like switching itself to Performance when I set it for Quiet. Have to reboot back into the bios a few times to make sure it changed to the proper setting. Not a big deal, I have a manual aux fan control anyway.

I wish the DDR3 slots were out of range of my CPU cooler.

Other Thoughts: The narrower form factor makes it easier to keep cable spaghetti out of the way, but since my case doesn't have support stands for that last row, I have to be delicate about plugging/unplugging SATA cables in that corner.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome MOBO

Pros: I LOVE this motherboard. I was planning on getting another MSI because that is what I have had before. But this one was much cheaper and it has the z97 chipset, so what more can you ask for? Bios is very easy and straight forward. I have had no problems at all with this MOBO. And it looks great in my white case :)

Cons: really not a big deal for me as I do not crossfire, but something to consider.

5 out of 5 eggsASRock Z97 KILLER

Pros: 8 Phase power
cheap for a gaming motherboard
Killer internet
EASY bios update
Ready for the 4690k and 4790k even without updating bios.
ASRock website shows what M2 drives can be used.
Can use any length of M2 drive.
Sata Express ready
I like the black and red layout.

Cons: My only gripe with this isn't the board but the paper manual they send with it. Is generic as heck a whole 32 pages dedicated to English. No bios settings in it at all.

Other Thoughts: I built this with a 4670k i5 and 8 gigs of AMD performance ram 2400 mghtz. I used a coarsair 240 gig SSD and a 6950 video card.
I started out with onboard graphics and was impressed at how well they did but in all my systems I use a dedicated graphics card to free up CPU power.
It came with bios 1.10 and I used a 2 gig usb formatted in fat 32 to update it to 1.30. I put in the usb and restarted then hit delete and in bios it has a fast bios option which took all of 4 minutes to flash bios and restart.
I am also a fan of the e2200 killer internet and it to my normal speed from 28Mbps to 56Mbps which is double. I have no lag in any game so that is a nice touch.
While in the bios I noticed it was very smooth working with the mouse and on my other Z97 boards that are not ASRock it seems like the mouse jumps around and is laggy so ASRock is a good improvement. Now this isn't a 400.00 motherboard so you get what you pay for one 16x pcie slot at 3.0 16x and the other works at x4.

The usb 3.0 works well after drivers are installed and it still has the PS2 port on back for keyboard. I haven't ever had much luck getting into bios on a usb keyboard. I also have problems getting into bios using the HDMI connector. So right off the bat I tried a USB keyboard and it went right into bios and then for the true test I hooked up my monitor with HDMI and I still got into bios so hats off to ASRock for doing it right.
The Z97 chipset is nice for me because you can overclock without having to worry about voltages. Just raise the multiplier and it sets the voltage at what you need to boot. You can use a program to see what they are and change them manually in bios if you so prefer but to me it is a wasted step when it takes care of itself.
To me the Sata Express isn't that important as my main rig uses 2 SSD drives in raid 0 and dows well over 1000MB read and writes. I plan on redoing this motherboard to see how it handles raid 0.
One of the chasis fan headers is 4 pin so you can control your fan in bios without software that is a plus also.
Overall for the price you pay and the features you get with this board you cant go wrong. I saw where people were having problems with ram slots so tested all 4 on this board and all work. If you are building a budget computer and want to overclock or future proof it this is the board for you.

5 out of 5 eggssolid platform to build a gaming machine

Pros: This board is very attractive. it's a shame i have to hide it under all the hardware I put in it. It's a solid motherboard. You can find better. but bang for buck wise It's nice

Cons: None really have had no problems

Other Thoughts: If your thinking about building a gaming machine this is a very good choice.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA...

Pros: It looks cool...?

Cons: Dead on arrival. Broke my heart to have to wait to assemble my pc. Checked PSU and used a back up and they were both working fine. I had high hopes for this board. Now I can only hope that Newegg can get me a good RMA.

Other Thoughts: Dissapointed :(

Pros: Booted up easy, overclocked great, and good price, especially with the rebate.

Many fan headers.
