3 out of 5 eggsASRock Z97 Pro3 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: works.

Cons: MB PCIE is defective, tried reseating i7 4790k changing PCI generations in bios reseating and cleaning PCIE slot and gpu teeth.
Manual states it runs at pcie2.0x16 and supports 3.0 but only runs @ 4x in any configuration, no complaints at 3.0 x 4. Can't get ahold of asrock to fix problems don't have time to RMA since I'd be without a workstation for around 2 weeks.

Other Thoughts: Should have spent another 100$ for a gaming board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer,

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
We will be more than happy to assist you for replacement, if the mainboard is malfunctioned.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless

Pros: Processor in, heatsink, memory, hard drives, video card, power supply, DONE. No issues at all, detected everything, it has been completely smooth sailing since day one. Would absolutely buy again, and would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive but rock solid motherboard.

Cons: Nitpicking here. But if I had to list something, I guess the pcb could be a little thicker. I think its about time for regular pci to go away, would rather have a couple more pci-e x1 slots I guess.

Other Thoughts: System:

This motherboard
Intel Core I5 4460
8 Gigs Crucial Ballistik DDR3 1866
Crucial MX100 256Gb SSD
WD 1tb Blue
BenQ 27" VA panel

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible support

Pros: cheap price

Cons: Support is terrible, my second board started to turn itself on without me hitting power button. I put in for a rma on june 1st, and have not heard from them at all. I got tired of waiting for them, and bought a different board from Gigabyte. have not had any problems.

Other Thoughts: save yourself grief and buy a name brand like Asus or Gigabyte. these guys don't know how to serve their customers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money, and then some.

Pros: Build quality is great. I have two of these in my house now as primary gaming systems for my wife and me. They've been solid, and building the systems was a pleasure. I would have expected to pay 50% more for a motherboard like this.

Cons: Digital audio output is not optical, nor is it clearly documented in the manual. Hey, I had to criticize SOMETHING.

2 out of 5 eggsOne of the worst motherboards I have ever purcahsed

Pros: Low price

Cons: Long delay after turning PC on before it starts to boot. Sound failed 30 days after purchase. If I hook a new drive up to the system, it tries to boot from it instead of using the boot order I already had in place.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the boot dealy, please remove all the drives (HDD/SSD/ODD/USB drives) from mainboard to test if it enter to BIOS without dealy.
Connect the drive one by one (SATA3_1, then 2 and following) ) to test wihc drive casuing the delay.
Set the Boot order in BIOS, Boot, Boot option #1, #2, etc...

For the sound, please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Load the BIOS default.
Download and install the audio driver at link below.

3 out of 5 eggsNice, but lousy USB 3.0 placement

Pros: -Great board
-lots of features
-easy install
-not too expensive
-Usb 3.0 header

Cons: -USB 3.0 header when in use blocks and decently long video card with cooling
-I/O tray is horrible

Other Thoughts: FIX THE DANGED USB 3.0 PORT I EXPECT A USB 3.0 PCIe HEADER CARD TO FIX THIS!!!!! I bought a case specifically to have a USB 3.0 header and not pass-through's just to find out i cant use them I am expecting a manufacturer response on this immediately ASRock!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Actually, the front USB 3.0 header does not block the long VGA card.
We tested with R9 290X and GTX 970 VGA cards, those are known larger cards with no problem.
Those VGA cards can be installed and does not block or interfere with front USB 3.0 connector.

1 out of 5 eggs2 Bad Boards!

Pros: None MB only worked for about 1 week!

Cons: 1st board died after 1 week, after almost 1 month RMA process with ASRock I got a replacement - put it together and guess what - another dead board!!
Already replaced with a Gigabyte which is running like a champ!
Don't waste your time on this!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that replacement mainboard having problem.
All RMA mainboards had been fully tested by technician to assure working fine before shipped to avoid back and forth shipping.

Please trouble shoot the mainboard with known good components.
• Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
• Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan.
• Test with single memory module.
• Test with onboard video.
• Connect the monitor.
• Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power.
• Connect the chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again.

If you have any technical Support inquiry, please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/Support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: if you are wanting to build a very good overclocking computer on a budget i STRONGLY suggest you buy this motherboard.

Cons: two of the fan connections are alittle difficult to connect with the motherboard installed. that is all.

Other Thoughts: i was expecting to "get what i paid for" but i must say i am pleasantly surprised by this mobo. strongly suggest.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: good price, reliable, fast, looks good

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Everything loaded right up after plugging in. My last motherboard was 8 years old and the BIOS was unimpressive. This BIOS is great with a GUI and mouse controls. Maybe all BIOS have that now but I'm a little behind the times.
