3 out of 5 eggsOk but can have networking issues

Pros: Relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Seems like the included software to install updates is actually ok. Easy to update bios and firmware.

Cons: Had networking issues out-of-the-box. Tried everything (firmware & bios updates, driver updates) but the onboard networking adapter is not recognized. I have to disable and enable every time I power up the system. I probably just got a bum board since I don't see others with this issue, but an RMA and reinstall is not worth the time when I can solve with a $13 NIC card.

Bios doesn't appear to have options to choose if USB power is on/off when computer is turned off.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT WORTH IT

Pros: Looks great, mini, has many ports.

Cons: Can not handle games well. Every time I try and play a game on high settings, the game crashes. I know it's not my Video card because it's a 970, and my CPU is an i5. If you want a good quality gaming computer, look for a different motherboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please try below.
Update the latest BIOS at UEFI/BIOS, Tools, Internet Flash (required internet connection).
Load the BIOS default.
Test with single memory module, switching another memory if problem still persist.
Test with other games to check if the symptom still occurs.
Check the CPU and system are not overheating.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick And Easy

Pros: Was my first build and it took me about a half hour to put everything together. Fired right up the first time, recognized all components and HID devices. Took another half hour to install the OS and i was up and running. Easy as pie.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Great board if your not going for an unlocked processor. The board has great features including an Intel nic which I appreciate and supports Xeon processors, along with too many others to mention here. The GUI is nice, well laid out and i find the board to be very stable.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This board meets my needs perfectly and has everything I wanted at a great price.

Thanks ASRock

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocked 3258

Pros: Overclocked a Pentium 3258 to 4ghz @1.2 vcore in just a couple clicks. Running stock cooler. Worked with 4x 1GB DDR3 1333 out of an old Dell inspiron. An extra couple fan headers Im not used to on the cheaper boards so it was very nice.

Cons: No documentation on bios settings in the paper manual. Bundled junkware on the CD if you choose to install all drivers and utilities.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 2 Weeks

Pros: Very nicely done BIOS (one of the best in this price range). Lots of hardware monitoring features in BIOS.

Cons: Motherboard stopped POST-ing after two weeks spontaneously. Replaced with a motherboard from a different MFR which fixed the problem immediately.

Other Thoughts: Wanted to give ASRock a try. Unfortunately after this experience this will be the first and last time I purchase an ASRock board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear the mainboard has malfunction after two weeks which nature of electronic product, it can happen.
For the future reference, please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.

• Turn the power off.
• Remove components except CPU and cooler (VGA card, memory, HDD/SSD,) from mainboard.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Reseat and test with single memory module.
• Test with onboard video.
• Populate the components one by one if its getting post.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good board.

Pros: Very good board for its capabilities, Other boards around it's tier level will run you at least $40-$60 more. This is a good value board. For a Micro ATX board it comes with a good amount of fan headers (Will need a 3/4-pin - Molex cable for more than 4 though) but it's a mATX so it's expected. While building my comp the mobo seemed very sturdy everything fit and snapped on easily without much effort.

The BIOS settings are also very good and can be navigated easily. I was playing around with the settings and was amazed at how easy it was to just find things.

I don't own high- end mobo's but I liked the amount of features/ drivers this board offers.

Cons: For some reason everytime I start up my Win 8 comp it gives me "getmode" box. Even though I installed the drivers and set up my display. Still. Not sure exactly why.

Other Thoughts: Transferring my CPU onto this board gave me somewhat of a scare. When trying to close the lid I though I was putting too much pressure on the hinge just to close the lid on the CPU lid. Thought I broke my CPU. Guess that's how it's made.

4 out of 5 eggsPossible glitch on reboot

Pros: Love the UEFI firmware, with on the fly overclocking as needed with my G3258 cpu. Overclocks when needed while running Win 7 to 3.8GHz or 4.0GHz with stability. I think overclocking to 4.2GHz was a little too much and caused some crash problems.

Cons: Seems to have some driver issue or some other problem with Win 7 restart, where it just hangs at the final moment. Always have to shutdown and then power switch back on when needing a restart. Not sure if it is MoBo, SSD or nVidia card, but one of those is hanging on the restart sequence at the very end, when all of the power is supposed to go off to the monitor, mouse and PSU, but the restart sequence stops just before cycling the power. Makes me think it is MoBo related.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: My friend helped me build my PC and he suggested this to me. When working, no complaints.

Cons: My computer started randomly crashing. I thought it was the graphic card but we tested it on another system and it worked perfectly. So now we think it's the motherboard. My monitor will flash random colors while playing games or online. After a reset, my computer no longer turned on, only the fans on the graphics card came on.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
• Unplug the ATX power.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Test with single memory module.
• Test with onboard video.
• Connect the monitor.
• Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power back.
• Turn on the power to check if its post.
