1 out of 5 eggsAMD Dual Graphics (TM)

Pros: This ASrock motherboard works and has a cool BIOS. It's good as long as you don't attempt to use this motherboard in an "AMD Dual Graphics" (TM) setup like I tried to do.

Cons: While there technically exists a setup where you can enable "AMD Dual Graphics" (TM). You must wire your system so that your monitor plugs directly into the motherboard's onboard video ports. This means that any program you run that doesn't Support "AMD Dual Graphics" (TM) will be forced to run using the onboard graphics processor only. These programs will bi-pass your discrete graphics card altogether. The work around for this is to plug your monitor into your discrete graphics card, but if you do that it is impossible to enable "AMD Dual graphics" (TM).

Other Thoughts: According to the ASrock Support FAQ 2014/03 Q&A, "Please note that the current VGA driver / VBIOS allows Dual Graphics output from the onboard display only." - Accurate as of 12/6/2015

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Sara,

Thank you for purchase and review.
To setup dual graphic, it’s required both CPU and VGA card must be match.

5 out of 5 eggsDazed and Confused

Pros: Works well and fit my budget.

3 months later and still working.

Cons: Did not work out of the box with an Athlon X4 860K.

I had to update the bios.

Other Thoughts: I didn't knock down an egg because of the bios (A4-7300 Richland did work). I figure newegg must have had some old stock on hand.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: I've been building and repairing PCs for over 30 years and this Mobo is probably the biggest piece of junk I've ever purchased.
1 day short of 2 months and the onboard NIC ups and dies. Of course it's out of the standard warranty by 29 days but the shame of it is it wasn't even finished! This was My personal hobby machine and it only had 30Hrs. on it. I have CompTia and Cisco networking cert's so believe me when I say
"Shame on Asrock and Newegg for selling junk".

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Check the NIC LED light is on when plugged the cable.
Test network connection under UEFI/BIOS, Tools, Internet Flash to verify hardware is working.
If hardware is working, please download and install the LAN drivers at link below.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked with Athlon 860K out of box

Pros: Booted right up the first time. No need to update bios for 860K. I am posting this mainly to show that I did not need to do anything to the bios for the 860K to work.
This motherboard has lots of fan power points.

Cons: This is so very minor.
The way the sata plugs are mounted made it a pain for the case that I put everything in.

Other Thoughts: Not bad for a $415 budget 1080P gaming rig.

If you buy the 860K remember to buy a video card.
I repeat.
If you buy the 860K remember to buy a video card.

Paired this motherboard with the Athlon 860K (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113379)

4 out of 5 eggsMB came highly recommended

Pros: Recommended for a "budget" gaming build by a trusted Internet Hardware reviewer. Many cutting edge features.Nice BIOS screens with mouse support. Visually pleasing hardware layout. Great manufacturer technical support.

Cons: This MB in Newegg's stock contains older BIOS chips that won't support the newest processors. Does not have BIOS Flashback built in.

Other Thoughts: I would have rated this 5 Eggs but for the BIOS issues. Several reviewers claimed to receive "DOA" motherboards due to having no video when booting. In most cases, the video problems can be attributed to A) The processor installed does not have a GPU built in, so on-board video is not supported, and B) The MB's BIOS is an older version. Newegg can't do anything about the older BIOS in existing stock, but you as the consumer can get a new BIOS I.C. from ASRock. I had a stellar experience with them. I wrote to them on a Saturday when they were closed for the weekend, but received a reply on Monday, the next business day. Additionally, I called ASRock and was immediately connected with someone in Tech Support. After determining that the BIOS was down-level, and the MB does not have BIOS Flashback built in, the tech support rep offered to let me send the MB to him for a BIOS update, or he would send a new BIOS chip to me. Chip replacement is simple, so I asked for a replacement BIOS chip. Received the new chip, plugged it in, and it booted up with no problems. Note - you can Flash Upgrade the BIOS, but it has to be working to do that. The down-level BIOS version I had wouldn't successfully POST with my processor. Without BIOS Flashback, which works without a successful POST, replacing the BIOS chip or substituting an older processor was my only option. ASRock Tech Support really came through for me, I am extremely satisfied with the motherboard and the support from ASRock. Also, even though my graphics board and the new RAM I bought from Newegg were not specifically on the ASRock Compatibility List, their tech support guy expressed confidence that they should all be compatible. That helps when you don't have another computer in which to test the new components.

1 out of 5 eggsVideo freezing

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Bought two of these boards with supported AMD kaveri APUs. Both boards will randomly have video lockups. Tried different BIOS revisions and video drivers with no luck. Also tried different SSDs and RAM. Poor quality board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please update the latest BIOS (Link: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A88X+%20BTC/?cat=Download&os=BIOS ).
Check the CPU is not overheating.
Allow better air circulation inside the chassis and VRM area to avoid overheating
Load the BIOS default to test.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good motherboard

Pros: Low cost motherboard with a lot of good features.

Cons: No HDMI -- not really a con if you didn't need it, just noting it.

Other Thoughts: I have had this for about a week now with no problems. The install was easy, the board fit perfectly in my case with plenty of space. It is working with windows 10 fine so I didn't bother to install any drivers or software from the CD. My system is:
Antec 300 case
Antec 430W power supply
AMD A10-7850K processor
Cooler Master Seidon 120V CPU cooler
No graphics card (using A10 on chip graphics)
TP-Link TL-WN822N Wireless USB Adapter
OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120G SSD
G.Skill Value 16GB DDR3 1600 F3-1600C11D-16GNT
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
