5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: So far this board has worked great for me and I've never had a problem with ASRock boards. Everything works as expected.
It is good looking and cheap for all the features you get.

Cons: None so far after 8 months.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy it again and recommend it

3 out of 5 eggs6 months dead

Pros: Good layout. Good connections. No speaker, have to have one to hear any error beeps.

Cons: Died after 6 months.

Other Thoughts: I mostly built this machine to be a gaming rig and small file server for the house. It performed well as a file server running win7 pro. It wasn't until I decided to encode my old dvds that it caused a problem. It got to about 70% then froze. I pulled the plug, and after that, couldn't get a POST at all. I don't have a speaker on hand atm, so I'm looking to RMA the board for a new one (a direct swap would be fine). Newegg won't/can't help me, so I'm going to ASRock. More to come later.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.

• Unplug the ATX power.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Test with single memory module.
• Remove the VGA card, test with onboard video (plug monitor to onboard video).
• Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power.
• Turn on the power (using onboard power button) to check if its post.

If problem still, please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/Support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsFeature-rich, value matx board

Pros: I love all the features in this board, but I mainly picked it for the M.2; not many M.2 micro atx boards (although that's changing). I would've given this board 5 stars, but...

Cons: the problem I have with this board is that the M.2 is shared with SATA express (SATA4 and 5). So with an installed M.2 card, I've lost two of the six SATA ports. I wish that was indicated in the marketing specs. Additionally, SATA1 is shared with the eSATA port. That's another SATA port lost if you wish to make the eSATA port available for external connection.

5 out of 5 eggsit's great!

Pros: This board is laid out better than any of the many I've used since 1992. The RAM slots don't cramp the large CPU cooler I am using or the vid card. It has excellent components. I has the great features of its ATX sized counterpart at half the price. I don't need the extra expansion of an ATX board but I could SLI/Crossfire on this one if I wanted. The beauty of mATX is that I can use this in a smaller case if I want to later on. An ATX MB won't work in a small case if I want to use this in a SFF case later on for HTPC etc. I have a 4690K in it, 8GB DDR3 2400 RAM, a R9270X and a Plextor M.2 256GB SSD. It's really snappy. The CMOS jumper is on the edge of the board near the case plug-ins (on/off, leds etc) where it can be easily reached. It looks very classy and came together very easily. I love the M.2 feature. I built a 3570K system on a MSI Z77A-GD65 board with the same vid card and a SATA 3 (6Gb/s) SSD. This setup is very noticeably faster, snappier and a better user experience. I liked the UEFI on this board much more than the MSI 1155 board I recently built.

Cons: I don't have any cons with this board. Yellow isn't my fav color but the heat sinks actually look good in real life.

Other Thoughts: I really like it and believe it's an excellent buy. If you are considering building an Ivy Bridge system, I'd go with Haswell. It's better, will have a more current life cycle and really not cost you more.

3 out of 5 eggsnice board, but...

Pros: .

Cons: 1)this is a fairly large MicroATX board -- unfortunately the SATA ports face outward rather than upward making it difficult in a tight box to plug in the cable. I had to find some "left angle" cables to make it work.
2)I had some trouble using the board with my existing Win7 and HDDs. I knew I had to do a clean install but ran into some roadblocks. To make a long story short, Asrock has no phone or chat support. Their email support took 3 days to get back to me and the response was a generic "please contact your dealer for tech support". Come on guys!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid motherboard
Price
Excellent UEFI
Great layout

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I'm not aware of any matx boards that have enough space between high end video cards for good sli or crossfire cooling on air
less expensive alternative to ROG

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Board is well designed and well laid out. UEFI is plenty good. It absolutely looks great, and the periphery is well laid out for easy management and use

Cons: Two big complaints:
1) the first two PCI-e slots are the only ones that will run SLI/crossfire. This means your first card will most likely be smothered for cooling. The 3rd PCI-e slot ends up being mostly cosmetic on this board
2) I found the number of SATA ports to be lacking. 6 ports is kind of low for more ambitious storage setups.

Other Thoughts: I bought the board for cosmetic reasons, and it absolutely fills that part. Also performace is absolutely as expected, am generally happy with the layout.

My main gripe is still the SLI/crossfire slot restrictions, and would not recommend this board if you are looking to run a compact SLI/crossfire setup. In a single-card rig, this board is absolutely perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly Reliable Board

Pros: Rock Solid Stable

I have had nothing but bad luck from other major Brands
Solid OC quite respectable for a m atx board.
Components are top end and you could waste money on a 400 dollar or more board but they will be using the exact same stuff.

Protective Coating great because I am a smoker and have a cat.

Has all the features I need and more,

Easy to navigate BIOS this was my first ASROCK board and I had no problems applying a nice performance OC. Not one issue at all so far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am not a big fan of the gold but that is a preference so I won't take off any egg.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for Buck

Pros: Small, very underpriced for what you get, high overclocking cabability, easy to use UEFI BIOS, excellent build quality, and aesthetically pleasing.

Cons: No online guides to overclocking, cheapo SLI ribbon, BIOS has a bit of a learning curve for overclocking.

Other Thoughts: I thought I was going to get another bunk ASRock motherboard. The first one I bought was a 970 Extreme 3 which would throttle my FX-8350, so I swapped for a Sabertooth 990FX. After selling and going with Intel, I needed to readjust myself to using ASRock's UEFI BIOS. It took a few hours to figure everything out. UPDATE YOUR BIOS TO GET NICK SHIH PROFILES. Overclocking is a breeze now after updating and learning the BIOS. I haven't had a single issue with this motherboard, even after OnTrac tossed the package over my 10 foot complex gate.
