3 out of 5 eggsOnly really one problem

Pros: Simple layout
Enough sata ports
Decent looking

Cons: I didn't realize this until a couple of days ago, but one of the sata ports don't work, It's not that big of a concern for me, but it still isn't reassuring to have. Just beware

Other Thoughts: I wish I had gotten the PRO4 version, because it's only a couple more dollars expensive, but it has two more ram slots which would have been nice.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

5 out of 5 eggsYet another feature packed board form Asrock

Pros: Great motherboard, zero problems, feature packed and budget priced. I am an expert reviewer here and never regret buying as Asrock board. always cheaper than Asus with more features or connectivity.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: This is one of the cheapest H97 boards out there with raid and hdmi. I made the mistake of trying to go cheaper, but when you factor in the shipping and return costs and downtown of getting a dodgy board, you're always better off buying a better brand. it's cheaper in the short and long run.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The same layout as H87M board.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For years I've been using ASRock and Asus products exclusively. I have an Asus H97 board and just bought this ASRock one for my other build. All my expectations have been met. This board has the best-looking and functional 1080p BIOS I've seen. Painless set-up ensures you'll be up and running in no time. Excellent board!

2 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Bios is awesome has amazing stuff you can do in it. Worked fine with older graphics cards GTX 460se is what i had in it and it worked fine for about 2 weeks.

Cons: Bought a GTX 760 popped it in and the thing wouldn't boot. Assumed the graphics card was bad so I popped it into my freinds computer and his booted fine. Assumed maybe it was the power supply that wasn't it either. After about 5 hours of messing with stuff we changed the link speed for the PCI E 3.0 slot to PCI link speed generation 1. And it worked just fine.
Unfortunately doing this caused a slight bottleneck with the graphics card.
Tried contacting Asrock support and they told me to try reseating the cpu, resetting the bios etc. Tried it all it didn't work. Not sure if it's a lie that this board has PCI 3.0 slot or if its just defective but I got a gigabyte mother board and put all my components in and everything worked fine.

Other Thoughts: If your stuck with this card and don't want to return it or can't and have the same vga failure beep code (5 beeps) Turn the PCI E link speed to generation 1. Not gen 2 not auto but gen 1 and then it might work. Only reason I'm returning is because I'm still within the 30 day limit.

Manufacturer Response:
