Does the motherboard come with an installed wifi/bluetooth antenna over the non AC z97 extreme6 model or does that still have to be purchased separately? Any differences in extra features between the extreme6 and the AC version?

Accepted Answer

The board comes with it already installed; all you have to do is connect the antenna leads to the inside of the motherboard and screw the connectors into the backplate so you can then attach the external antenna. There do not appear to be any extra features beyond that.

Is it compatible with i5 processors? Yes, as long as they're LGA 1150. I'm using this motherboard with a 4690K i5 processor, for example.

is there a better installation guide for the wifi? the one included in the instruction book isn't useful.

I had the same problem.  Good to know I wasn't the only one haha.  The diagram's scale is all wrong.  The connectors for the WiFi antenna are very small.  They are a golden color and located in between the video card slots.  I wish I could explain in more detail but i am at work.  You will figure it out.

Anyone know a workaround for the system lockups when installing drivers?

My board won't even boot with SATA drives plugged-in.
My non-ultra M.2 drive (brand = Crucial) works flawlessly, however.
I'm afraid to install an ultra M.2 x4-lane drive since the board might split my GTX 970 x16-lane down to an x8-lane.
I'm waiting for SATA-SATAe adapter cables to come-out so I can see if my SATA drives will boot while plugged into a SATA Express port.
Right now, I jimmy-rigged my SATA HDD to the rear eSATA port which I have to unplug and re-plug everytime I restart/reboot my computer.
My Intel 480GB SATA SSD is sitting, boxed, off on the sidelines, out-of-commission, for the time being.
I'm hoping a SATAe adapter cable will allow my SATA drives to use the PCIe bus in the future since the SATA controller/chipset/bus is/are obviously fux0red on this board.
The Gigabyte board my Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 is using is still working perfectly.
ASRock ... never again.

Just purchased this, i5-4690k, g.skill f3-1600c9d-16gxm, cooler master hyper 212 EVO. Will not boot? Lights and fans are on but error code 00 with no beeps. I have tried booting with just one ram stick and even no ram, still the same result. I have tried clearing CMOS, same result. HELP!!!

Memory should be filled in each color slots (in pairs)

Double check all your connections esp the pin connections (gnd + item)

google error code 00 
toms hardware and some other sites are asrock community ppl that can help out but read up on the process of hw debugging

sometimes asrock says the above plus reseating the cpu (checking that no pins are bent)

if all else fails then contact newegg \ asrock

How many System Fan Headers does this board have?

The motherboard has:

2 CPU fan headers (one 4-pin PWM and one 3-pin)

3 CHASSIS fan headers (one 4-pin PWM and two 3-pin)

1 POWER fan header (3pin)

All of the 3-pin headers except the POWER fan header are variable voltage for auto speed control. The two PWM headers are variable speed. You are able to set up automatic temperature based fan speed curves/profiles in the UEFI BIOS. You are also able to set the trigger temperature source for each header - CPU temp or MB temp sensor. The POWER header is fixed at 12V.

3 fan headers and 2 cpu fan headers.  FYI, if you are going to use a liquid cooler for the CPU, it does matter which one is hooked to the pump and which one is hooked to the fan.  I don't remember which is which, but you'll know if you got it wrong by the pulsing from the liquid cooler fan.

Anyone run into a clocking issue within the Bios? My bios clock is stalled like it is not working at all? Just wondering, as I was going to reach out to Newegg/ASRock.

Nope, mine is fine. What exactly do you mean by the clock (so I'm sure I am on the same page as you)? In fact, I have my i7-4790k OC'd on this mobo to 4.7Ghz stable (and I'm learning slowly how to push it further, not that I need to!) :)
