A great foundation for you to build a FM2+/FM2 APU-based system, the ASRock FM2A88M PRO3+ Motherboard delivers performance, features, and quality at a great price. It's based on an AMD A88X (Bolton D4) chipset and supports an FM2+ 95W/FM2 100W processor. This motherboard is built to be stable and durable with an all solid capacitor design. Compute with confidence with Full Spike Protection, which safeguards sensitive components against voltage abnormalities. Turbocharge the performance with one key with X-Boost technology. Experience blistering data transfer with the native SATA III and USB 3.0 technology. And enjoy clean, noise-minimized sound thanks to the ELNA audio caps. The acclaimed ASRock XFast RAM and XFast LAN are also included, for a fast, smooth experience in both local operation and on the Internet.

  • newegg Full Spike Protection Some sensitive digital components on the motherboard are vulnerable to power surges; the excessive current may cause your system to malfunction immediately. ASRock Full Spike Protection includes Surge Protection, Lightning Protection, and ESD Protection to prevent your motherboard’s components from being damaged by these unexpected voltage spikes.
  • newegg ELNA Audio Caps Who says high-quality audio is only available on high-end motherboards? ASRock has applied ELNA audio capacitors on mainstream and entry-level motherboards! Compared with traditional solid caps, the leakage current of ELNA audio caps is merely 3uA. This is the key to significantly reducing the noise level to satisfy even the pickiest audiophile.
  • newegg All Solid Capacitor Design ASRock is determined to use high-quality materials to build the best motherboards, that's why all the capacitors on this motherboard are built with 100% solid capacitors. These solid capacitors bring long-lasting durability and ultra-stable performance.
  • newegg X-Boost Brilliantly designed for smart overclocking, ASRock X-Boost Technology is able to unleash the hidden power of your CPUs. Simply press “X” when turning on the PC, X-Boost will automatically overclock the relative components to get a performance boost of up to 15.77%! With the smart X-Boost, overclocking the CPU becomes a nearly one-button process.
  • newegg Easy Driver Installer For users who don’t have an optical disk drive to install the drivers from our support CD, Easy Driver Installer is a handy tool in the UEFI. It installs the LAN driver to your system via a USB storage device, then downloads and installs the other required drivers automatically through the Internet – absolutley no CD or optical disk drive required!
  • newegg ASRock APP Shop The ASRock APP Shop is designed for your convenience. It provides various apps and support software for users to download. You can easily optimize, your system and keep your motherboard up to date, with the ASRock APP Shop.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Motherboard

Pros: Great board. Easy to install. has a ton of SATA ports and a HDMI output build into the board. Paired this with an AMD A8 7600 APU and 8 gigs of PNY DDR3 2133 a cheap 128 gig PNY SSD and a really old BFG ( remember them ? ) 450w power supply and made a very cheap, very fast HTPC that is hooked to my 49" with on board graphics via the built in HDMI port. Can Play everything in HD - Youtube, Netflix, Hulu etc. Don't bother spending more on a motherboard for a HTPC, this has been running about 6-8 hours a day everyday for almost a year with 0 issues. Very happy with this little guy

Cons: It didn't install itself?

Other Thoughts: 10/10 would buy again

5 out of 5 eggsStable, exactly what I need

Pros: Works very reliably, used in an ubuntu server and has been running for 333 days 24/7 no problems so far. BIOS is very helpful, gives info on what is attached to every port. As it's a server the board gets "stress tested" every once in a while when it has to deal with many uploads and downloads to and from it at the same time, never once has it faltered or shown any weakness. Every night it runs BOINC for 5 hours so one could make a pretty good assumption that after nearly a full year of zero downtime this is a rock solid board. Highly recommend.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: At first install I couldn't get it to boot without a graphics card, after some research and the tip from ASRock's team it turned out to be due to the fact that the cpu I was using didn't have the proper equipment to support the onboard gpu, adding a $15 gpu fixed this issue. That issue was my fault for not doing enough research and wasn't a limitation of the board, just a limitation of my knowledge at the time.

2 out of 5 eggsRandom reboots under Linux NAS build. openmediavault

Pros: Seemed to work fine running Windows 7

Cons: Would reboot randomly when running openmediavault. Especially when under heavy load (ex. plex library scan)

Other Thoughts: I ended up returning it and replacing it with a ASUS A88X-PLUS. Which has given me no trouble.

NAS build:
ASUS A88X-PLUS
AMD A10-5800K
CX430 PSU
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB
Rosewill 120mm Cooling Fan (4 Pack)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works exactly as intended, had no problems with installation.

Cons: Software seems kind of sketch in that it doesn't run particularly well and wanted to install a lot of junk software. BIOS updates were easy enough though. Had issues installing USB drivers as well.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arival

Pros: It Didn't work so frankly I don't have any. It wasn't hard to install so I suppose that is a pro

Cons: I Picked this mother board up for the purposes of building an office computer for the business I own. I installed everything plugged it in and turned it on and all seemed well. So i hooked it up to a monitor a few days later to get the operating system set up and when I powered on the system there was no post at all. I went through the normal trouble shooting steps and found through some online research that this is a common occurrence with Asrock products. Sadly I really do not have time to go through the RMA process so I guess I am just out the price of the mother board. Terrible product Asrock.

Other Thoughts: I will not be purchasing anything from this company ever again.

4 out of 5 eggsWow ASRock!!!

Pros: Wow!!! This Co.. Has won me over. This Board had a history of being not to good a month or 2 after install. Mine was 1 of these that died shortly after 1 month play time. So after having BAD BAD RMA issues with other NAMED Mother board retailers. I decided to go out on a limb and let ASRock try and help me. BOY did they. I'm Totally Impressed. 2-3 days emails to get the RMA set up. 3 day shipping to Cali from East coast to get there. Here is the good part.

I receive a Email 12/8/15 We have received your package and are checking the contents etc etc. Notify us here and here for status. (OK? This is before Noon)

8pm Email from ASRock.. Your package will be there in 2 days shipping time from FedEx. From Cali to East coast USA. Check status here. So I look. got me a new board coming to me . new serial #'s etc.... WOW !!!!
The other M board peeps I normally buy from and have for years took almost a month to process for bent pins on a Z97. 2 weeks to notify that they got it and are working on it. Then I had to contact them 2X to see what was going on. Now it was approaching a month. Finally got the email that they are sending it back and ill have it in 5 work days from a 5 hour drive from my house to them. WHAT!!!???? and a $150.00 Bill to add to that. BTW that other co.. They Guarantee 10 year warranty on there boards. I understand bent pins is my fault and not under warranty but I could of bought a bran new board for that price from any other of there competition. NO MORE!!!!!!!

Cons: Don't trust Bigger bran names all the time.

Other Thoughts: I know this board died within a couple months but total satisfaction is a huge part of having a PC. I also know its a AMD build also but it is just for gaming and I will not spend crazy amounts for a over priced and over rated board ever again. ASRock has my backing for now. Keep it up guys!!
