A great foundation for you to build a FM2+/FM2 APU-based system, the ASRock FM2A88X PRO3+ motherboard delivers performance, features, and quality at a great price. It's based on an AMD A88X (Bolton D4) chipset and supports an FM2+ 95W/FM2 100W processor. This motherboard is built to be stable and durable with an all solid capacitor design. Compute with confidence with Full Spike Protection that safeguards sensitive components against voltage abnormalities, plus the high-density glass-fabric PCB that resists humidity liable to cause short circuits. Turbocharge the performance with one key with X-Boost technology. Experience blistering data transfer with the native SATA III and USB 3.0 technology. The acclaimed ASRock XFast RAM and XFast LAN are also included for a fast, smooth experience in both local operation and on the Internet.

  • newegg Full Spike Protection Some sensitive digital components on the motherboard are vulnerable to power surges; the excessive current may cause your system to malfunction immediately. ASRock Full Spike Protection includes Surge Protection, Lightning Protection, and ESD Protection to prevent your motherboard’s components from being damaged by these unexpected voltage spikes.
  • newegg High-Density Glass-Fabric PCB What you’ve never understood about your computer is that it is scared to death of water: H2O, humidity, or whatever you’d like to call it. And even though you do not see the water, there actually may be lots of excessive moisture in the air killing your motherboard silently and slowly. No, your motherboard doesn’t melt when in contact with water like the Wicked Witch of the West, but it dies of short circuiting. Luckily, ASRock has a new High-Density Glass-Fabric PCB design that reduces the gaps between the PCB layers to protect the motherboard against electrical shorts caused by humidity.
  • newegg All Solid Capacitor Design ASRock is determined to use high-quality materials to build the best motherboards, that's why all the capacitors on this motherboard are built with 100% solid capacitors. These solid capacitors bring long-lasting durability and ultra-stable performance.
  • newegg X-Boost Brilliantly designed for smart overclocking, ASRock X-Boost Technology is able to unleash the hidden power of your CPUs. Simply press “X” when turning on the PC, X-Boost will automatically overclock the relative components to get a performance boost of up to 15.77%! With the smart X-Boost, overclocking CPU can become a nearly one-button process.
  • newegg Easy Driver Installer For users who don’t have an optical disk drive to install the drivers from our support CD, Easy Driver Installer is a handy tool in the UEFI. It installs the LAN driver to your system via a USB storage device, then downloads and installs the other required drivers automatically through the Internet – absolutely no CD or optical disk drive required!

3 out of 5 eggsMEh

Pros: -Cheap
-Lots of slots for upgrades

Cons: No matter what I do this motherboard will not allow me to boot in dual channel memory without crashing so I had to buy a single stick of 8GB rather than using my 2x4 gb sticks. Everything else has worked though, if you're looking for a cheap fm2+ ATX motherboard this is the way to go.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the dual memory issue, please update the latest BIOS.
Load the BIOS setting default.
Reseat the memory modules firmly on A1 and B1 slots, or A2 and B2 slots.
Enter BIOS, Main to verify whether shown dual channel memory mode.
IF problem still persist, please test with another pair of memory or CPU.

2 out of 5 eggsThis board is cheap!

Pros: The Bios GUI looks and work just fine.
The board works for the most part and was easy to install (it's a motherboard.). I am thinking of buying a better quality one.

Cons: One of the memory slots didn't work when I got the motherboard and it has now fried 1 of my corsair and Lian Li fans. The board was cheap but has cost me 2 dead fans and a memory card I can't use.

Other Thoughts: If the manufacturer spent 10 dollars for each board on better solder and quality control they would have had a way better board.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsRAM headaches

Pros: It booted Windows a couple times.

Cons: I can't find compatible RAM. I tried a set from the Asrock QVL--won't boot. Doesn't automatically recognize the correct timings, blue-screens when you try to set them to factory. The rest of the QVL list appears to be unavailable or extortionately priced (like 5x the cost of the board). This was a real disappointment.

Other Thoughts: Your odds of ending up in RMA-heck look pretty high with this one. Buy something else.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Mainboard supports most of the memory on the market.
If using memory is from QVL with BSOD, please try below.
Load the BIOS default.
Test with single memory module, switching another memory module if problem still persist.
Check the CPU is not overheating.

3 out of 5 eggsNot worth the price

Pros: This is a good MOBO for budget or beginners at building pc's. Everything seems to work other that one thing.

Cons: One of the memory slots was dead on arrival really sucks.

Other Thoughts: MOBO's are way to sensitive wish someone could invent a less sensitive board inexpensively. I would not recommend this to anyone just because some components are cheaply made. You can get better boards for cheaper not cool.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please try below to check if it resolved the issue.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU.
Test with single memory module on each slot one by one to verify the slots.

4 out of 5 eggslooking to get this at the end of jan 15

Pros: -the cheapest atx amd apu motherboard out there.
-has enough pci-e to run what I need (sound card, intel nic, vid card at pci-e 3.0 and a cheapr raid card0

Cons: I know from reading other mb manufactuer's manuals that I am almost sure you can't use all 3 pci-e 2.0 1x slots with a 4x slot included. Looked all over google to find out the max configuation for pci-e 2.0 slots.
-have to buy a dvi to hdmi cable just in case I need sound from the apu

Other Thoughts: can't wait to get this. WIll also be buying a syba raid card with marvell's 9230 hardware raid chipset and a intel nic for network backup

3 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard but there are problems

Pros: Now, I build a PC myself and I was able to figure out most of the problems while building the PC and the solution for them, except for one and that being the USB 3.0 ports are not working. I mean when I plug in my HDD, it doesn't detect it. There is power but no functionality. Other than that its an alright board for a budget.

Cons: Its hard to build since the instructions aren't exactly clear...

2 out of 5 eggsBlue screen issues

Pros: A lot of ports. Good specs.

Cons: Onboard video drivers create blue screens

Other Thoughts: I originally posted a better review, because it seemed a pretty solid mobo on first install. However, I keep getting blue screens on Windows 7 when I try to run Sony Movie Studio or Flash.
It doesn't always happen, and seems most common when I do weird things with user agents. Still, I assume that it's probably the video driver's fault rather than flash's since neither flash nor movie studio should have low-enough level permissions to cause a blue-screen condition.

Causing a BSoD in 2015 is unacceptable.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Audio

Pros: See below.

Cons: I've been at it for a week trying to get audio out of the HDMI port. The included drivers do nothing.
