4 out of 5 eggsGreat price. Very flexible. Can use older power supplies ... no USB3

Pros: I always look for on-board Nvidia graphics because I never have any trouble running Linux with Nvidia graphics hardware. Good price. I thought it was cool that you could use either DDR2 or DDR3 memory (two different sets of slots).

ALSO ... newer boards require newer power supplies that have a second 4-pin 12-V connector. This board would work with a 5+ year old (maybe even 10 or 15 year old!) power supply ... so really is good for saving an old beast with a dead motherboard.

Cons: I did not realize when I bought it that it had no USB3 support. This certainly affects me since I tend to mount Terabyte
external drives. Oh well ... I'm getting about 20.0 MByte/s sustained transfer on USB2.0. It will have to do. The lack of USB3 cost it a star. Had I known, I'd have spend $20 more to get USB3. Otherwise ... great board!

4 out of 5 eggsVersatile board for extending the life of cheap 'puters

Pros: -replaced a dead eMachines motherboard with this ASRock; straightforward installation of the Athlon II X2 220 and 4gig DDR2 PC800 memory, booted right up
-versatile board for old and new AMD CPU's and DDR2 or DDR3 ram

Cons: -no nVidia Windows 10 driver support for the graphics/chipset; it worked with the Win10 drivers but didn't recognize the monitor's native resolution of 1600x900. Didn't try to do a forced driver installation though

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Replacement Board For Older Build!!!

Pros: I had an AMD Phenom II X2 555 Calisto core with 2 sticks of DDR2 2gb 800 Mhz ram by AData and an ASUS 9500 GT video card from an older system that the mobo went bad. I knew before hand what ram my cpu could support and after replacing the mobo everything booted up fine! It took longer to load software than to build.

Cons: None. WYSIWYG!! Watch out which ram you plan to use. Check CPU and mobo support list.

Other Thoughts: I think I will upgrade the ram to DDR3 1333 Mhz due to the fact that they are cheaper than my older and slower DDR2 800's.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid AS'Rock (lolpun)

Pros: -came with latest BIOS
-plenty of sata and usb connects, friendly layout for micro atx
-hookups for just about anything including legacy stuffs (ps2 mouse/key, IDE hdd etc)
-incredible component flexibility

Cons: -not sure what to think of the XFast 555 stuff...?
-no free stickers? jjk

Other Thoughts: Plugged in Athlon II x2 215 (AM3), 2gb ddr2 cheapo, GT 420 128bit 2gb, lscribe dvdrw, antec VP450 supply and booted clean into existing win7 install after first restart (technically only component changed was board). FYI for those in question about RAM/CPU compatibility between ddr2/ddr3 - ONLY THE AM3 CHIPS SUPPORT BOTH ddr2 AND ddr3 (not intermixed but either ddr2 OR ddr3) AM2+ etc only ddr2, AM3+ only ddr3. It's on ASRock's webpage for this boards specs somewhere...
Enabled us to use old pc parts to start a slow but sweet upgrade process over time for this one. Quality board this one.

1 out of 5 eggsGood idea but BAD implementation, I would not purchase this mobo!!!

Pros: None other than it supports DDR2 & DDR3 memory and AM2 & Am3 CUPs

Cons: I knew this before I purchased but you should be aware that you can't mix DDR2 & DDR3 on the motherboard. Depending on what type of memory you have will require a apecific AM2 or AM3 CPU. I purchased this to be a test mobo for testing various DDR2 / DDR3 memory or AM2 /AM3 CPUs when troubleshooting clients systems but this mobo was not reliable from the start. This mobo locked up no matter what I did and I installed known good hardware from my other testbed. I would avoid this mobo unless it is absolutly your only choice.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard locks up intermittently with known good components. I checked for BIOS and driver updates however there were none newer than waht was included with this motherboard. I did check the ASROCK web site for support and this motherboard appears to be one version old, this is a 1.03 version and they have a 1.04 version out which has a differnt brand network controller (Qualcomm on 1.03 and Realtek on 1.04 version) the audio controller is also different (Realtek on 1.03 and VIA on 1.04).
