4 out of 5 eggsTheASROCK N68-GS4

Pros: Set up this board with an AthlonII Quad Core 3.1GHz and 8GB of DDR2 ram, also added an older MSI vid card..extra parts in my shop..used a Seagate Hybrid hard drive ended up with a stable fast system..then installed 8Gb of DDR3 ,replacing the DDR2 Ram.. also runs stable..had no problems with post no problems with drivers.. is running Windows 10 PRO

Cons: Older board that does not have USB3 or Sata 3..

Other Thoughts: No Reason to try n pair this up with an FX Processor.. too many other newer boards with Sata 3 and USB 3 on this site ..but the board is doing fine and very stable set up with older hardware from my shop. Runs windows 10 ..with no problems..

Pros: None to speak of

Cons: Came to me DoA, will not run POST or load BIOS. Do not buy this board, save yourself the trouble and look into a different product.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.

• Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
• Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan.
• Test with single memory module.
• Test with onboard video.
• Connect the monitor.
• Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power.
• Connect the chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the trouble

Pros: It works well that one time that it does start.

Cons: I'm pretty sure I received a defective board, but the quality control on this must only test it once. Try booting your computer again and it won't pass POST. It just freezes before beeping or showing any picture. I removed everything I could from the computer, and it would only start when it wasn't on in the last ten minutes. I've both set the reset jumper and removed the CMOS battery, installed a dedicated video card, swapped the RAM, and even removed the RAM completely, but nothing seems to improve the situation. Even without RAM, it only presents beep codes once in a while. If I did receive a working board, it would probably die before the year's end.

Even when it works, the BIOS is inaccessible.

Other Thoughts: I'm sending it in for RMA and buying a board that actually has positive reviews on it.

We have another ASRock board that's been installed for nearly four years, and that one has been going strong since.
