5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: - Low power
- USB 3.0 front panel header compared to similar boards
- Powerful enough for regular desktop use
- SoDIMM support (had 2x4GB lying around from upgrading laptops so it saved on cost)

Cons: - Wish it had a full size x16 PCIe slot, but I knew going in it didn't have one, didn't knock an egg
- Graphics could be a little better, and no room for expansion

Other Thoughts: This is a niche product, but it works exactly like I expected it to work in my usage scenario.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: - Running FreeBSD 10.2, 0 issues
- Low power
- Quad Core handing virtual machines

Cons: - 16x slot runs at 1x as stated. 2x would be nice as it's listed by Intel as possible.

4 out of 5 eggsWin 7 is not supported out of the box, but after a little driver installing, NICE!

Pros: looks great
runs smooth
cool temp and really low power comsumption
Runs out of the box under Ubuntu 64b 15.04+

Cons: installed win7 pro 64 and usb ports (any) were not available until proper driver installed (dvd provided), so, you need to have at least one ps2 input device before starting.
In my case, the included video drivers were faulty, screen shuts down at random. After downloading and installing the most recent drivers from asrock website, the problem disappeared.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps tweaking the win7 support would be great.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Diego,

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Due to Windows 7 does not built-in USB drivers for N3000 series, please visit link below for Windows 7 Installation Guide.

3 out of 5 eggsIgnore the 3 eggs

Pros: Tiny system.
Power efficient.
Passive cooling.
Quad-core!

Cons: I sent my rebate packet in to Asrock for my MIR and it's been 2+ months now, They never gave me my refund back. (hence the 2 egg deduction).
Not dual LANs.

Other Thoughts: Being powered by a pico-PSU and laptop brick
Have an SSD and 4TB WD red.
Another sata port would be nice.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bang for the Buck

Pros: 14nm quad core Windows 10 for only $70, with CPU. No fan required. Specs are wrong. Running UHD 4K on it right now. 3840 x 2160 resolution at 30hz. at least.

Cons: Non yet.

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive, fast, excellent small form with Mini-ITX

Pros: Easy to setup and install. All in one. Very inexpensive for getting motherboard and processor. Fast for it size. No problems watching videos, lagging. Accepted Windows 10 just fine. The small allows the cube tower I got to be placed just about anywhere. Processor stays cool enough not to need fan. booklet guide very easy to read. Black SATA cables were just the color I wanted that came with.

Cons: Like the other review, it did require a PS/2 keyboard and mouse initially. I had the keyboard but I was able to navigate the drivers disc with just the keyboard and get all installed. Not much of a con.

Other Thoughts: I still use discs for installing OS's not USB Flash drives.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board

Pros: Latest features, all useful ports and outputs are there, cheap and fast.
Low power consumption and silent. Cool BIOS.

Cons: As previous reviewer mentioned, the Win 7 USB setup is not smooth, I managed to go around it by starting off with a PS2 Mouse and when setup asked for USB drivers I pointed to the drivers located on the accompanying CD. All you need is a USB 3.0 hub drivers to get you going. This is minor, however I find arrangement of memory sticks a bit odd since it blocks ventilation from CPU, but on the other hand CPU never gets too hot anyways.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board as a drop-on replacement for an old Foxcon Atom 330 board. in addition I paired it with Crucial DDR3L 8G (2 x 4) sticks and Samsung 850 EVO SSD. Result is a very fast and cheap machine that can do most of the things around the home.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board with some quirks

Pros: Fanless design that stays cool. Similar layout to older Asrock motherboards. Onboard USB 3.0 header for front usb ports. 14nm Braswell processor. Low power.

Cons: Windows 7 install was a pain. USB stick install didn't work because the USB 2.0 ports on this motherboard weren't natively supported in Windows 7. To make them usable a driver install was required. This also means that you can't use a usb mouse or keyboard to install Windows 7. Had to use a DVD drive and a PS/2 mouse and keyboard to complete the setup. Once the drivers we installed everything worked fine.
Win 8.1 and 10 installed without these issues.
Also a Linkskey KVM switch would not show the screen when this computer was powered on. If I switched between ports the image would appear on the monitor, but I ended missing the boot messages and initially thought that I had a bad motherboard or RAM. It was only until I plugged a monitor directly in that I realized that it was a compatibility issue between this MB and the KVM. It occurred on two Linkskey KVM switches that have been rock solid up until this point. Replaced with Startech KVMs that don't exhibit the same issue.

Other Thoughts: This is the ideal board that I have been waiting for. I use these in point of sale systems and they really nailed it. USB 3.0 headers/Mini ITX Form factor/4 USB 2.0 headers/16GB RAM/VGA/Serial/Parallel/Fanless/low power/Sata3. If only it had Windows XP support.
May be good for home theater or emulator too.
