I wanted to use Linux for this and it installed without a hitch. I installed it into an old desktop that I had. I used 16GB of ram and since it uses shared memory, it was so much that I didn't see any performance issues through linux. This system was more for browsing and all around system. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: This is a great little board. It's not meant for gaming of some sort, but an all around system. Using 16GB is too much, but it works just fine. They work fine for something like a keyboard or a mouse, but do not try to run an installation off of them. They tend to lock up without reason. The USB 3.0 ports for your case will be reliable & stable. Not really a con, but the thing is so quiet now all I can hear is my power supply and hard drives spinning. It's so maddening. I thought I could use some cheap-o spare power supply I had sitting around to run this thing; turns out it's also wildly inefficient at the low power draw this board uses. Other Thoughts: I'm using this to run Ubuntu 14.04LTS (full support OTB) for a NAS and a general server for whatever technology has my fancy that week. I've only had this thing for about a week and I've only had to restart it to check my upstart configs. Cons: Motherboard fails testing for DMA controller. Sent in for RMA and am waiting to see if the next board functions correctly. Also board is not compatible with Windows 7 without making a custom ISO. Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product. Manufacturer Response: Dear Roy, Sorry to hear mainboard has failed DMA controller. Wonder which program's been using to check. Please update replacement mainboard is working fine.
