System would randomly not boot with hard drives plug into SATA ports, tried updating BIOS, had no effect. Could be an isolated defective motherboard, but I'm definitely not buying this brand again. Manufacturer Response: Dear Joshua, We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. For the issue, please load the BIOS setting default. Check the mainboard is detected the drives at BIOS, Advanced, Storage Configuration. If it's failed to detecting the drives, please test with another known good SATA cable and drive to verify the issue. Craig P. 10/24/2015 5:39:04 PM Ownership: 3/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Be carefull if using Generation 1 PCI express components This review is from: ASRock H170 Pro4S LGA 1151 Intel H170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Pros: Good BIOS options, All PCIe slots Cons: H170 chipset does not seem to be fully compatible with my particular PCIe Gen 1 components. Other Thoughts: I initially purchased a cheaper mobo with the H170 chipset, but only the PCIe x16 slot would recognize my HVR-2250 Tuner card. Nothing I could do in the BIOS would allow more one of my 2250s to be recognized. (I have 3 of them). I then purchased this mobo and none of the PCIe slots would pick up the HVR-2250s. After much BIOS tweaking I was able to get them recognized along with a PCIe x1 Gen 2 Esata controller card. The short story is I had to move the HVR-2250's to the PCIe x1 slots only and change a setting in BIOS from Auto to Gen 1 support only. Then move the PCIe x1 Gen 2 esata controller to a PCIe x16 slot and change that slot from Auto to Gen 2 support only. Then there was another setting that relates to PCIe slots that I also had to set to GEN 1 support only. I just glad the vast number of BIOS settings allowed me to configure my tuner cards. Can't get the online BIOS updater built into BIOS to work, but it's easy enough to download the file, put it on a thumb drive and install it from BIOS that way 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
