5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: Awsome motherboard/processor. cant beat the performance at the amount of power it runs off of. (less than 20 watts). Runs cool and quiet. Linux ran fine although graphics were slightly slow. Winxp ran with no problems whatsoever. Audio was clear and clean

Cons: Graphics were definetly not gaming level but if your getting this board for that look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to get a 1gig stick, i used corsair value ram and it ran fine

5 out of 5 eggsLittle green board is cool & stable

Pros: Although I have several technical specialties, my interests in this product were different: (a) reduced environment resource consumption - especially at end of life, (b) reduced power consumption & heat production, (c) reduced-noise, and (d) interoperability. I must say that all my goals were met. Bonus: It mounted perfectly in an old ATX case, giving me time to consider a new hobby of case building at my leisure. Several 'nixes recognized the hardware without intervention. Windoze XP SP2 also had no worries.

Cons: Absolutely, none: Going into this purchase, I knew the performance characteristics and the interoperability risks.

Other Thoughts: Mini-ITX enthusiasts need to spawn a parallel market in case assembly such that kits are available on places like Newegg. I predict that this day will come in the next few years.

4 out of 5 eggsKnow what you need it for

Pros: Power consumption, size.

Cons: USB pin headers on the motherboard are worthless. The actual headers are physically too small (much smaller than the standard 9 pin headers you see on every other motherboard) and I've only seen one adapter (although it was 8 bucks) to make it compatible with regular connectors. this leaves you with only 2 USB connectors on the rear IO plate.

Otherwise, you really have to know what its intended for before you purchase. OEM/Embedded applications. CAR PCs, etc. Anything where processing power isn't critical and size matters.

Other Thoughts: I've actually got this running as a really decent file server using XP pro with 512 megs of ram. It's very usable for basic computer use.

I've also had ubuntu 7.04 installed on an 18 gig laptop drive running with this. Ubuntu arguably works better with it than XP but I had to install XP pro on it for specific reasons.

Really, if you know someone who needs a PC and yet knows nothing about them, and their requirements are email, web, and other things like that, then this + ubuntu is a perfect fit.

However now you can find even faster epia motherboards for prices that are pretty close to $100, so definately grab one of those instead. If you can get more speed for the same cost, why not.

5 out of 5 eggsitx is great if you know what your buying and why

Pros: perfect for multi media and any other personal computing where a small footprint is needed yes linux needs a bit of tweeking to better support this platform they will im sure comply since this is the wave of the future gone are the days of people wanting a heated jet engin under their desk so loud you cant hear your music

Cons: documentation could be better ive had this and 2 other 1g epia systemsand the documentation was a bit thin there too

Other Thoughts: really outstanding for those looking for a home entertainment platform or mobil / auto applications hopefully newegg will offer more int the way of itx and nano itx systems and accessorys thanks newegg

5 out of 5 eggsLinux support sub-optimal

Pros: This is a feature-filled embedded platform. Linux support is decent, with a few caveats (see below). It's low power consumption is awesome and if you want a low power server for home use, this is an excellent choice.

Cons: Video support in linux is shakey at best. Documentation for linux is spotty and I was unable to get TV-Out working. :(

It would be nice to see greater memory support (dual channel would be nice). Onboard VGA video is analog - I'd rather pay the extra for DVI, but this isn't really an option in this market.

Other Thoughts: If you're using Windows this is probably a great pick for a home theater. If you're using linux, don't have high expectations for it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: good quality board, works just fine with redhat FC5.

Cons: accelerated graphics isn't supported by redhat FC5/xorg.
i'm using xorg's "vesa" driver at 1600x1200 until i track down an accelerated driver....

Other Thoughts: to my surprise, mini-ITX mounts perfeclty in a regular ATX case using existing mount points - now i can take my time to find the perfect case....
