4 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Runs my 6-core Xeon like clock work extremely silently courtesy of water cooling (workstation build). Nice to have IPMI and PCI-X built into the board which were my chief buying points. I'm also a fan of having 8 RAM slots.

Cons: The board works fine except for some reason my DDR3 1600 RAM is recognized as DDR3 1333 even when I force it to DDR3 1600 MHz in the BIOS, but everything else works fine. I'm going to try a BIOS update and see if that fixes the issue.

4 out of 5 eggsUPDATE *IGNORE ABOVE REVEIW*: Able to fix the issue

Pros: Built in IPMI is awesome. Generally very nice with on-board features/extras for the price.

Cons: Board had a small grounding issue under the memory modules that was causing the frustrating and difficult to solve issues.

It was my last test after pulling the board for RMA that finally tipped me off to the issue. Simple fix.

Other Thoughts: 4 eggs just because it was quite frustrating and with it being put into a SuperMicro chassis, feels like it should not have occurred, but now that it is solve, everything seems to be humming along as expected.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: On board IPMI is fantastic and works very well.

Cons: After having great success with Supermicro, this is the second board arrive where it will not post to vid. I built a system in March 2013 that is bullet proof and still have the parts for an identical system, part-for-part, that will not post.

I have swapped out nearly every part with the working system, and some worked so well there was no point in swapping them back.

Other Thoughts: I REALLY hope this is just a bad issue with this board, or batch of them as their tech service guys have even been good to work with and helpful. Hate to have to find another company to use

2 out of 5 eggsToday is RMA

Pros: I have had good success with Supermicro server boards in the past, and customer service was good. They pick up the phone.

Cons: Will not post unless you press on the board. Never seen this before. Tried multiple component swaps on CPU coolers, memory, etc. to fix. Customer support said to RMA. I'm disappointed, as we needed this machine to be online.
