Pros: - Enterprise features like integrated HBA, quad GBE nics
- Lots of 4 pin fan headers
- IPMI system works great, easy advanced config via ipmitools

Cons: No cons - this board performs well and functions exactly as it should. Anything that may be considered a con needs to be evaluated in the context of enterprise server use (this was designed to be in a server chassis with adequate airflow in a datacenter, not a quiet desktop chassis in a warm room)

Other Thoughts: Using this a a nested virtualization platform and media editing workstation running windows 10 with VMware workstation 12. On workstation, I have ESXI hosts, management VMs and other guests. Running adobe CC2015 for media editing.. Build specs:
-Supermicro cs745TQ chassis
-Xeon E5-2696 V3 CPU
-128gb Samsung DDR4 ECC ram (4x32gb)
-LSI 9271CV-8i raid
-(4) Intel 530 240gb drives in Raid 10
-(4) Samsung 850 240gb drives in (2) raid 0 arrays
-(4) WD 4TB RED drives in a windows storage space aray
-(2) Toshiba 6tb drives in an additional storage space
-Samsung 830 512gb drive for importing media
-Samsung 830 256gb drive for scratch space

Pros: I purchased this board because of the options/price. Onboard SAS works great. Not sure what Issue the other review had but the onboard lsi 3008 SAS worked with no issues using a Supermicro SC216 2U Chassis. I have 12 SSD drives powered by the LSI controller with zero issues.

Cons: Better control over the FAN speeds, Supermicro only gives you Standard, Optimal or Full Blast! but that's Supermicro and my only con.

Other Thoughts: 4 NICs work great in a LCAP team in Server 2012 and 2016 TP.

Pros: The IPMI is a great feature and the Main board does work well but did not meet my expectations.

Cons: I got this Option because I wanted to save money and space on a SAS Raid Module, this board has a built in SAS. It will Fail in less than 24 hours and forces the server to reboot. I watched the SAS module IO error out and crash server repeatedly. Super Micro has no solution thus far, I tried every Firmware available including IT Firmware for JBOD this also Crashed. since I went past the 30 days I finally just used the Onboard SATA ports for my Disk Array.

Other Thoughts: I would not choose this Board if you looking for ON Board SAS I would just go with a Raid Card SAS module instead and get a Less expensive Option.
