Foxconn N570SM2AA-8EKRS2H AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: 2x Gig LAN, HD audio, allots of cables to go around for other computers :), nice layout, very good range of CPU support and good performance.

SLI runs flawless and seems to me there is not bottle necks for Video card data.

Cons: Update utility is some what dumb, Foxconn could have done better job. I don't know why those hardware guys cannot write any decent software? hire some one Foxconn!!!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I would give it a 5 starts however it started to give me trouble after 6 months but thanx for Newegg.com (that is not so new any more :) ) I got it replaced within 10 days.

The only other thing I can think of is a front end 3.5" bracket with UBS and Fire-wire port should be included rather then those 1 million useless cables in the box, ECS does send you those and let me tell you that is very nice.

Update to new bios does not seems to have any noticeable effect on performance.

Pros: Works, stable, SUPPORTS VISTA, relatively inexpensive, I think I got mine during a sale b/c it was below $100 when I got it, fit my case.

Cons: Difficult install. Will not post w/o Graphics Card installed, and it HAS to be in PCI x16 Slot 1. This ended up being different from the slot I had it in on my old DFI lanparty case (which led to some frustration bc i didnt know why it wouldnt post). Also had to update the BIOS to get it to recognize my AMD X2 6400+.

Other Thoughts: Go to foxconnchannel.com, d/l and install the updated bios, and you'll be fine.

Pros: If only it worked.

Cons: I got the motherboard and for the first day it would work fine. after that it would not start up. the screen would just stay black. i went through 4 motherboards and it still didnt work so i went to a local computer store and bought a cheap motherboard and it worked great.

Pros: Foxconn hasn't let me down yet. This is my 2nd motherboard from them and both of them have been great. This was easy to install and get running. My ide hard drives and dvd drives work great with this motherboard. This is pretty good for over clocking too. Works great with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition and Kubuntu.

Cons: Once or twice, it froze when starting up but no biggie.

Other Thoughts: I paid 100 for this motherboard and got the 40 dollar rebate so I'm at less than half the price it is right now.

Pros: It DOES have lots of features, all of which are nice. Four expansion slots for RAM is a definite plus and the SLI is a nice feature.

Cons: On the other hand, I'm having the fault where it constantly shuts off power to the system during games and especially installation of software. Its made my system impossible to use, extremely frustrating given the amount of money I spent on the thing.

Other Thoughts: Does anyone know how to update the BIOS and what version to use/where to get it?

Cons: first one was doa. sent that back and the new one was too. but by the time i got that and figured it all out, they said i cant get a refund for it. i spent a long time talking to foxconn and newegg and finally was able to get a refund but im still spending $30 in shipping.

Pros: I have had ASUS, SOYO, and Gigabyte boards and spent much more then I did for this board. I have got to say this is a GREAT board and for 50.00 bucks get two! The ease of setup and the great software to overclock and monitor the board are fantastic!! Make sure you get the new drivers and updates and this will smoke for you!!!! Love it!

Pros: Great board. 7 SATA connections 1 ESATA 2 IDE connections USB2.0 Firewire great board. Chipset has small 25mm fan that keeps it cool. Great Value. Bios options are almost limitless.

Cons: 3 pin connection for CPU cooler.

Pros: Lots of features at a good price. Just completed build (no OS yet) so don't know how well or long the mobo will survive. I needed 3 PATA drives supported and Newegg says this mobo would handle that but Newegg scr3wed up the specs (it's IDEx2 for 2 PATA drives, not ATA100x2 for 2 ports and 4 PATA drives) - which means the PCI slot is short (need another one for an IDE controller card). For upgrading, wanted to bring over my 2 optical and 1 Zip drive. Optical drives are connected, not sure yet how to get Zip drive working.

Cons: Newegg says two IDE ports. Wrong. Only 1 PATA port ("PIDE") and the other is for RAID (drives on "SIDE" are listed when the RAID BIOS loads). Only drives on "PIDE" port can be used for bootup, in DOS, etc. (might be usable in Windows after a driver loads but still doing the build). AMD X64 CPU has a 4-wire fan but mobo only has 3-pin header (despite the picture here or at the maker's web site). CPU fan always runs at high speed. Hoping Speedfan will work to PWM the power wire instead. FP1 (front panel) header assumes case will have a 1-piece connector (not many do). The Pwr LED was a 3-pin connector (middle pin unused) but the header needed a 2-pin connector. Happily the case maker (hEC) used a connector body where pry up on tang releases pin to move into middle position. Chipset fan can be covered by hi-perf cards.

Other Thoughts: If I had gone to the maker's web site to look at the specs, they only show one (1) IDE controller (for up to 2 devices). For them, "IDE x 2" means up to 2 PATA devices, not 2 PATA ports. Only 1 PCI-e slot is free but that needs to be reserved for a 2nd video card. Doc sucks to figure out the hardware build (fold-out sheet more important than manual). LED for floppy is always on despite correct data cable orientation (using a polarized cable) so maybe have to return. Get this mobo again but knowing only 1 IDE port usable. Decent cable set included. FAN1 fan is used by rear fan. FAN2 is used up by chipset fan. To add a front fan, you're stuck using the 4-pin Molex adapter.
