Get great graphic performance along with support for the latest AMD Phenom processors with Foxconn's A7GM-S motherboard. This affordable micro-ATX motherboard is packed with features to create a potent system.
The board features the AMD 780G chipset with an integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics adapter. A PCI-E 16 slot gives you the option of adding additional graphics horsepower and it supports ATI's Hybrid CrossFireX technology and DirectX 10 as well as HDMI output – enabling you to display your video on any HD flat-screen television. And, because high-end video deserves equally high-end audio, you'll get 7.1 channels of HD audio.
The A7GM-S supports AMD's Athlon 64 and Phenom processors – including the latest Phenom 9850 - as well as the Sempron CPU with up to 8GB of DDR2 dual channel RAM to give plenty of memory for multi-tasking. Hyper Technology 3.0 doubles the data transmission rate between the CPU and the graphics adapter for superior operation. Expand your system with a dozen USB 2.0 connections and 6 SATA-2 connections. Built-in support for AMD's Cool n' Quiet 2.0 technology allows you for power-saving modes and energy-efficient processor operations.

Small Motherboard Packs Gaming Punch
- Pros: The motherboard just works for gaming. I am not an overclocker with no intent of doing it for this build. It adjusts the voltages easily to the correct stock range and accepts the very tight timings of my 8gb of Geil Black Dragon RAM.
This thing will be a perfect home theatre PC motherboard, but more importantly is that it functions just as well for gaming. If you have concerns on that, I can assure you that this thing will facilitate performance gaming very well. I have not faced any issues with drivers or stability, and the motherboard works very ideally.
- Cons: Doesn't include a case badge? haha. Either I lost mine, or it doesn't come with one.
One real issue. I had to do a bios update to keep it from hanging on boot one in a while. That "hang on boot" issue was a simple fix since you should always update your bios anyways on a successful build.
Also, their website is quite slow and it has many "down links" to downloads. The company is good, but their website needs some administrative work. Not their fault probably.
It only includes 2 SATA cables and they are very short.
I have not tested the graphics, so I have way to report on that.
- Other Thoughts: In using with an Antec Mini P180, an AMD Phenom 9350e, Zalmann 9500, 8gb Geil Black Dragon (4-4-4-12), a Sparkle Calibre 9800GT (P980), and a PC Power and Cooling 500watt Silencer, I have created the perfect computer. This motherboard gave me a base in which it all works. I recommend it for the gamer looking for the smaller build.
Actually, I recommend the whole setup.
To answer questions: *It supports low latency RAM and it supports 8gbs well. *It supports the latest 9350e. *It fits inside all MicroATX rated cases with no trouble. *The motherboard will support the largest 3rd party heatsinks. You can put a Zalman 9500 on there for sure (if not larger). *It has decent audio on the motherboard *The motherboard works flawlessly with Vista. *It supports a great variety of RAM voltages (high and low) *The build is solid and uses solid state electronics. *Foxconn's software isn't too bad. It has a decent temperature monitor that reads well.
That should address all concerns
Solid for HTPC
- Pros: This is the 4th Foxconn MB (2 590 SLI) and now 2 of these. I am very pleased with Foxconn. I use this MB as a HTPC and it is rock solid. HDMI is a plus. Easy to work with overclocking BIOS and a great manual (not that most will need it).
- Cons: None from me
- Other Thoughts: Be sure to get the latest ATI 3200 video, Realtek HD and Realtek ATI HDMI sound drivers. Just add a AMD black 5000+ and 2G of 800 DDR2 and off you go for $200 :-) I have a 690G Gigabyte board also and the graphics on this 780G ATI 3200 are much better, faster and have more overclock headroom. The kids can play their PC games and not complain too much on the big screen. The other 780G MB is now in the wife's machine - a major upgrade for her with with an AMD black 5000+. If you buy this board for non high end gaming, a HTPC or general office machine you will be very pleased with this cost effective solution.

nice motherboard
- Pros: everything on this motherboard is easy to hook up and its not difficult at all. and the ram slots in the computer is nice when you have a lot to add into it sense theres 4 of them.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: could of added in another pci16 slot into it so i can add an extra graphics card but its not a nessecity lol
Best Motherboard
- Pros: this is a great motherboard
fast easy to overclock small and powefull i would recomend it to anyone.
- Cons: NONE!!!!!
- Other Thoughts: amd phenom x4 9850 2.5ghz
overclocked 3.0 could go higher xfx 9800 gt velociraptor 575 power supply 4gb ddr2 platinum ocz apollo nzxt black case very nice system windows 7 64-bit
lots of features for the money
- Pros: It's very stable, I have not had a motherboard related crash in the 6 months that i've been using it.
The mobo has lots of features, from the expansion slots to the audio, and it will handle 16gb of memory. It's fast, very fast, much faster than most boards i've encountered. The price, is obviously a big point here, the overall value is substantial if you don't need sli.
- Cons: The onboard video isn't fantastic, but that's incredibly minor.
- Other Thoughts: i have not done any overclocking or extremely taxing things with this system beyond playing a bit of tf2, so i cannot attest to it's strengths or weaknesses under such duress
