Great baseline AMD board

Pros: Sturdiliy built; excellent placement of board connectors; Cheap entry point into AMD and AM3 (with proper BIOS) for a former Intel user like myself. Realtek audio and LAN, I always trust Realtek for good, standards-based parts.

Cons: Placement of northbridge heatsink may interfere with PCI-Express 1x slot.

Other Thoughts: Works perfectly under Windows 7. I didn't have to install any drivers personally save for the ATI video driver (for my external card). Everything else was detected, working, and updated by Windows Update. Board is a great one for getting back to the AMD side of things; cheap and integrated enough that all you need is a CPU to have a new system.

Pros: As an HTPC, works great for the most part. High quality video and good audio from the 5.1 output.

Cons: -- I still have an unresolved issue with the HDMI video out. If I turn on the PC before the HDTV, I have no audio to the HDTV through the HDMI port. Still working with tech support.

-- Software hasn't caught up to Win 7, it appears. FoxOne turns the screen black and I have to reboot to escape.

Other Thoughts: This review corrects an earlier one where I thought the board was DOA. It wasn't. Two unconnected problems (faulty VGA cable and a loose wire on the PC case speaker) led me astray.
