5 out of 5 eggsIt's good

Pros: ok it's working with win 7 and ubuntu 10.04 64 bit, ubuntu recognize everything by default, had to download and install ethernet drivers for win 7, but that's it. NO BIOS update!

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: foxconn's web site is VERY slow and it crashes most of the time, but they have everything in there (BIOS & drivers)

1 out of 5 eggsincompatible with antec

Pros: more than enough usb and other ports

Cons: incompatible with antec true power 550w?? seriously I can't believe it, I test it with other (pretty old) PSU and it worked fine. the antec PSU is not faulty, it is working in my old computer right now!
I'm surprise!! I mean... it's that even possible?

Other Thoughts: Even though I was able to turn on this thing with my old PSU, I shut it down after configuring the BIOS. you know a 300w PSU can't hold this for much, so better don't push it

3 out of 5 eggsLinux support

Pros: Motherboard for windows.
Didnt have any issues at Win 7 64bit at all.
Updated bios at the start, and runs great.

Cons: On my Debian Linux TrueCrime 2.6.26-2-686 2010 i686 GNU/Linux ive even get thru nvidia card config, builded an nvidia kernel source, cuz im using nvidia.
All works fine, aldo, to configure LAN - pretty a lot of fun, better to buy some Linksys NIC for 20$ than fight with existing network interface. And the HD Sound.. Unable to configure @Debian and probably at any other linux/unix os.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, and a pain

Pros: Very high quality motherboard. All the stuff you would need for a normal pc.

Cons: If you plan to run Windows 7 64 bit (on any foxconn mobo) you will have to install win xp or vista to update the super out of date bios. The software has been updated on the website so there are no longer crc errors. However, there is no FoxOne or any of the other software for Windows 7.

Other Thoughts: The technical support is not bad if you use the web. I wouldn't expect to call and get great support.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great with Win 7 64bit

Pros: I have it setup as a dual boot - Win XP 32bit and Win 7 64 bit both using RAID 0. OC'd my 2.8GHz i7 to 3.1GHz using stock voltages. Might try to push it further someday but it's super fast as is.

Cons: Not compatable with Seasonic X-Series power supply's. I tried two, neither worked. Rosewill, Antec, and OCZ all work great in it. The web site can be a little slow. I tested it today - 2-14-2010 and it wasn't bad, I downloaded P55A-S RAID drivers set (22MB) in about 1 minute. If your worried about CRC errors download the drivers before you buy.

Other Thoughts: Good Support. Around 11-2009 they didn't have WinXP RAID 0 drivers on the web site so I called the support number in the manual and the support person emailed me links to download it.

4 out of 5 eggsNot for Windows 7 64-bit, yet.

Pros: Everything seems to fit on this board. No oversized heatsinks to get in the way of hefty video cards. You can pack a _TON_ of memory on this board too. The RAID controller seems stable enough for lower visibility use and you can put a TON of storage on this board with all the SATA ports internal and external.

Cons: Foxconn ships this board with an ancient BIOS and downloading it from the website through their software requires you to install Windows XP and then update. The drivers from the Foxconn website are corrupt and support from them is _SLOW_. If you plan to run Windows 7 64-bit be prepared to wait to have them send you a disc with the drivers. Their website blows and all of the downloads have CRC errors... like the network card driver (hence the WinXP install first to update the BIOS). It was a complete pain in the (insert here) to get the network driver for this machine for Win 7 64-bit and if you want to put it together and us it in anyway, you need that driver.

Other Thoughts: It would be great if they had a quicker website that didn't have mangled files. That has been the biggest problem for me with Foxconn. I have seen some people complain about slow RMA turn around, but everyone is slow for that.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Mobo, Awful Customer Service

Pros: Good value for P55 motherboard, provides more than enough USB 2.0 and eSATA ports you could ever need. Comes with high quality HD audio.

Cons: Motherboard fried after one month of use. Took three weeks for Foxconn to respond to my RMA submission after numerous attempts. Took a full month to send me back a new motherboard. I will never by from Foxconn again, no matter how good the price.

4 out of 5 eggsStable, Lots of Features, Cheap

Pros: Nice compliment of features and and value price make this board a great choice for Core i5 and Core i7 systems. No stability issues.

Cons: Doesn't have the second x16 port that other P55 boards have.
