2 out of 5 eggsWorked but yet did not

Pros: Cheap board
decent features

Cons: Pay for what you get

Other Thoughts: I bought this board thinking it would be a cheap alternative for a computer I wont even be using that much. When I first got the board hooked up it wouldn't boot up. The power supply I had in the computer had to be approaching 10 years so I figured that's probably what it was.

After getting my new PSU the computer still failed to boot. I brought home a test and different power supply from work and sure enough it booted. RMA'ed that PSU, got a new PSU and still it wouldn't boot.

At this point I sent the board back as the USB also didn't work and ordered a new board. The new board worked fine with the PSU that couldn't get foxconn board to post.

1 out of 5 eggsM61PMP-K

Pros: DOA=NONE

Cons: Arrived doa and damaged RMA back to newegg for replacement just to have them tell me that the board was damaged and was being sent back to me and told me to contact manufacturer for support
What a waist of my time paid shipping and restoking fee for a board that was bad to begin with

Other Thoughts: Well i see by all the reviews that a large number of these boards are bad but to have newegg charge me a restoking fee for a bad board plus i paid the shipping to send it back now it's on it's way back to me unrepaired or replaced it's a waist of my time and i never expected this from Newegg up to this point i had nothing but good things to say but that changed today, thanks

4 out of 5 eggsIt worked

Pros: Initially used an Athlon x2 and it was lame. Played musical cpus and changed to a Phenom x2 and it flew! Teamed with a halfway decent cpu and it works. It's one of the few still available that supports a floppy drive....if anyone really has to be able to use those old things.

Cons: For the $$ just can't complain.

Other Thoughts: For those that are buying this economy board and then spending twice the $$ for a 125w fire breather....really!! Yea, it may work but just spend a little more for a more modern board. I've built several with the Foxconn A88GMX AM3 AMD 880G that costs just $15 more and those 125w cpus really work well with it!!

5 out of 5 eggswrong wrong wrong

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: am2+ based, old tech ... not really a con

Other Thoughts: more a response to jrock ... a 125w tpd cpu may "work" but that does not mean it is recomended or supported. a relative has one of these in an older "branded" pc with a mcp61 chipset. needed a replacement mobo to get another year or two out of her aii x2 220 ... decent board, no problems

5 out of 5 eggs125W Support

Pros: 125W Support

Cons: Foxconn's disclaimer trying to tell me I'm wrong. Cute.

Other Thoughts: Please disregard the "Foxconn support team" response from my previous post... I have absolute proof and no doubts at all that my friend is running the Phenom II 965 on this board. I double-checked the specs before I made my first post. I know his computer is functional, I see him every week.

If Foxconn is unable to accept these facts, then let them continue with their ignorance. I still enjoy their products.

5 out of 5 eggs125W Support

Pros: 125W Support.
Performance on a budget.

Cons: None really, see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: This board DOES support 125W CPUs. The reviews here are saying 95W max and that is just untrue.

My friend was buying a new PC to replace his ancient rig with AGP/Pentium 4.

I built this system for him before reading the (incorrect) reviews here. I want everyone to know that it has been running his Phenom II 965 fine for several months now.

AMD Phenom II x4 965
Foxconn M61PMP-K
G.Skill Ripjaws 1333MHz 8GB
ASUS Radeon 6670 GDDR5
Rosewill Stallion 450W
WD Caviar Blue 500GB
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valuable customer,

Correction: Max TDP for this model is 95W. It is not 125W.

Again, thank you for purchasing Foxconn products and taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback. Your business is appreciated.

Best regards,
Foxconn support team

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Great board, and when coupled with an Athlon dual core its a very solid pair for about $110.

Cons: There is no place to attach a speaker to the motherboard. There is what appears to be a place but it has 3 leads, not 2.

Other Thoughts: The software on the CD is old as dirt. When running it to look for updates it said everything was up to date, nothing was.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome inexpensive basic motherboard

Pros: Inexpensive. Great for the basic office user. It can take 2x4GB RAM. (8GB RAM total)

Cons: Maybe the onbard video card, but I build PC's for office users, so they don't need great graphics cards. I did have 2 on-board video cards go bad, but just threw in a cheep $25 PCIe to fix. Easier than going through RMA process.

Other Thoughts: Over the past 2 years, I have ordered and used over 20 of these. Only had 1 go bad after a couple months, and 1 DOA. RMA process is not great, but doable. I've always used Athlon II 2-core, 3-core, or 4-core processors. (65W or 95W).

5 out of 5 eggsHigh fail rate?

Pros: Had this guy for a very long time, now.. More than 6 months.

Not a problem to report. What a great value it has been for me. Easy setup, easy install.

If you are careful with budget boards, and make sure you buy compatible parts, then the onset of problems will elude you.

Cons: Everybody said it. That onboard graphics driver is awful. I think the old INTEL solution is better.

Other Thoughts: You had better invest in a graphics card of your own if you want to do more than browse the internet or edit documents on this one.
