1 out of 5 eggsHeadache

Pros: low price easy to use and some cool tweaks

Cons: after running this board very nicely and with no problems for more than 3 months one day suddenly and quite without warning no POST. just blank dead screen. when i attempted to get support through foxconn they dodged and stated that it must be my components causing the problem.i assured them it was not and finally after weeks received an rma number. at my expense i shipped it back to foxconn, a week later i received another board, appearing to be new, it was not, SAME PROBLEM out of the box NO POST what a headache!

Other Thoughts: 2 boards no post a assure you all reading this it is indeed a dead board and not a user error i have tried multiple good processors and ram sticks even tried installing off-board graphics adapter and 3 diff PSU in various configurations.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat economy board

Pros: Solid, basic board

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Board does what manufacturer says, not more, not less.
Check specs. of board carefully: 95 watt thermos
Windows 7. Will not support Windows 8.

4 out of 5 eggsMotherboard

Pros: Is motherboard.

Cons: Is Foxconn.

Also, outdated.

Other Thoughts: Unless you already have the AM3 processor, you have no reason to buy this. They've got newer ones out there that are backwards compatible anyway. After research on date posted, AM3+ or FM2 are the way to go, am3+ for CPU or if you want to get an APU (much more complicated and not necessarily worth the investment) go FM2.

May as well leave yourself room to upgrade anyway. AM3 isn't the way to go.

5 out of 5 eggsRe-evaluation

Pros: Replacement MOBO installed easily -- looks great.
Foxconn tech support (Rick) was very helpful answering some questions I had. Everything is functioning well.

Cons: It would be helpful if Foxconn included a troubleshooting sheet covering: proper CMOS jumper setting, more thorough explanation of MOBO board connectors, tech support contact info, etc.

1 out of 5 eggsPretty -- but DOA

Pros: Simple instructions are clear.

Cons: Power would not latch "on" when front "on" switch was depressed. Shorting the corresponding pinds on the board didn't help. MOBO needs to be replaced. Rating will go up if I get a working MOBO.

Manufacturer Response:

Please setup the board outside the case. Also verify the Front Panel connection. You can also use the screw driver tip to short the two green pins to turn ON the system just in case something is wrong with the Power Swiches in the front of the case. See attached image.

1. CPU + thermal grease + heatsink fan
2. 24pin power connector + 12V 4pin power connector
3. ON/OFF switches
4. A stick of RAM module

Also please call us at 714-626-6909 for further assistance. Our hours of operation are from 830am to 530pm PST, Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays).

Best regards,
Foxconn support team.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Windows 8 applicable.

Pros: Well it looks nice, had a good design, worked in a general fashion and could get to bios without problem.

Cons: It just doesn't work with Windows 8, not that it claimed too merely an error on my behalf.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for my hdd running win8 I would have been able to use this and I am sure I would have gotten a lot of use out of it as an interim mobo.

3 out of 5 eggsmediocre product

Pros: Booted up without issue on the first try after installation. Hasn't given me any considerable problems so far.

Cons: I bought this motherboard as a gift for a friend, but only after I got it did I find out it only supported 95W CPUs. This made it useless since his CPU was a Phenom II 945 and pulling 125W. We tested it anyway, and while it worked, the VRMs would overheat when the CPU was under load and the motherboard would shut down.

The irritating thing about the power limits is the motherboard has pads to install more VRMs to raise the number of amps the CPU can draw, Foxconn for whatever reason decided not to install the extra few bucks of VRMs.

I've since replaced the CPU with a lower power Sempron that I was able to unlock to an Athlon x2 4300e. The only issue with the core unlocker is that it disables itself randomly during reboots, even though the unlocked core was tested and deemed working.

The last issue is Foxconn made the bad decision to engineer the NB heatsink to rely on the CPU fan for cooling. If you use a heatpipe cooler like the Hyper TX3+, the NB will be left to cook itself (without cooling, it gets up to 70C or worse and the motherboard starts crashing or rebooting. I was able to mount a 120mm fan above the NB on the case to keep it cool, but it isn't possible to do this in all situations.

Other Thoughts: I'd consider buying another one of these motherboards if I needed a cheap office computer that didn't need to do anything exotic.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far worth the money

Pros: Good cheap Motherboard

Cons: I only wrote this review to let everybody know this foxconn mobo dosn't come with the power adapter for sata. Its one on the reasons that I have consistently bought foxconn. They used to all come with a sata power adapter. That little adapter pushed me over the edge making me feel that Foxconn cared more.

4 out of 5 eggsStable

Pros: Stable- Hasn't ever crashed on me.
CPU- Good CPU suppporting
Cooling- Overall the motherboard stays real cool
Lots of USB ports

Cons: Northbride Heatsink gets real hot.
Bios can get confusing. I don't know if this was a hardware issue or what but when my DVD drive broke and I removed it the motherboard would take 1-5 minutes just to reconize the HDD, which was really annoying, and when I added my replacememt DVD drive it booted normally.
The CMOS battery that came with mine was bad. No biggie. The placement of the 4 Pin power connector is placed in a weird position in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Foxconn seems like a real stable brand. Might buy from again.
