5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me.

Pros: Great Price. Great basic 'office user' board. Ordered and used 7 of these so far. None of them DOA yet, and haven't had any fail yet. I combine with AMD x3 3.2/3.3GHz.

Cons: None for me. But this board is not for you if you plan on doing more than just basic office stuff like word processing/Internet.

Other Thoughts: FYI, this board does support 2x8GB RAM, even though the description does say only 2x4GB. I to use to exclusivly the M61PMK-K board, which isn't carried anymore, but is simular to this. I've used over 20 of those boards, with 1 DOA, and 1 fail after a couple months. Some people might dislike Foxconn, but I use them exclusivly, and have had no major problems.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: Worked fine for me. Needed to update my firewall and I wanted a Micro ATX board to support 3x NICS. Two PCI cards and the integrated controller met the need. I paired this board with an Athlon II X2 Regor, a Crucial M4 64GB drive and 4GB of AMD PC312800. Everything fired-up without a problem. 20 minutes later I had Astaro UTM 9 installed and I have a smoking fast firewall running IPS, Proxy, Multi-path, SMTP AV/AS Scanning, and Content Filtering with no perceptible added latency. Couldn't be happier.

Cons: Nothing negative to say.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate: DOA - 2 of 2

Pros: Fast response from Foxconn

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: I called Foxconn and within a couple of hours, they set up 2 boards in their plant. They let me know that both failed to POST so they are sending them to R&D. Once they get these fixed, they will be awesome boards with a lot of bang for the buck.

Manufacturer Response:

We are using PC Power & Cooling 510W SLI series power supply for this test but for some reasons it won't post with this power supply. However, we have used a couple other power supplies and it can post with the Sempron 140.

Best regards,
Foxconn support team.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA - 2 of 2

Pros: Hard to say when it won't even POST. Two boards in a row.

Cons: DOA. Twice.

Other Thoughts: I built 3 systems using the M61PMP-K in the last few months, without a problem. I really liked the board, as did many other reviewers. That model is not available now, and the new board appears to be a minimally changed model: memory upgraded to 2x4gb, removed the LPT1 header, otherwise identical even visually. Every reason to think this was the same board with very minor mods.

Even though I've been in the business for 30+ years, when the first one didn't work I thought it was something I might have missed. The PSU checked out fine, even PWRGD at 300ms. Not being able to get a POST even when the board was out of the case and on the bench, I finally ordered a second board, along with another CPU just in case it was that. I even tried swapping the new CPU in both boards. Then I tried another PSU. Nothing. Foxconn has a good reputation, but a big FAIL on this board.

Because these are for a special purpose and needed by a customer ASAP, I ended up going to a local retailer up the street, got an MSI board (not as nice), assembled it that night, but thankfully it worked first time.

I now have two boards to return for credit, and stuck with a second CPU. I wasted so much time thinking I must have missed something simple, when it turned out to be the boards.
