1 out of 5 eggsCame with bent pins and all Chinese documentation

Pros: none

Cons: poor build quality, documentation is NOT IN ENGLISH, defective, bundles with ZERO extras, CHEAP

Other Thoughts: This thing is junk. It is not put together well, has lots of paperwork written in Chinese, and came with bent pins that prevented it from working.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience. Please download the user manual from the link below. As for the bent pins, all of our boards come with CPU protection cover. Please contact Newegg for RMA if it is less than 30 days. After 30 days, please contact our customer service department at 714-626-6909 for further assistance or you can submit an e-mail to the link below. Our hours of operation are (M-F from 830am-530pm, PST, excluding public holidays).

Best regards,
Foxconn support team.

4 out of 5 eggsAffordable 1156 board, rare find these days

Pros: Cheap
Easy to work on and a fair amount of PCI/PCI-E/SATA ports.

Cons: Electric smell coming from the board - i've used Foxconn boards before and never noticed them, I'm guessing it'll go away after a little bit of time. It's pretty strong and noticeable coming from my CM HAF XB case, one with less ventilation may not notice as much.

Other Thoughts: I had a Core 2 Duo E8650 that I was using for my Windows Home Server. The lack of expansion options (was using a mATX Asus G41 board) was giving me difficulty and I needed a better solution. My sister gave me an old gateway with an i3 540 that had a dead board, I wasn't able to use it because of the price of LGA 1156 motherboards until recently. Finding this was a real treat, and I'm glad I ordered it ASAP because it looks like it's already been discontinued. If it holds up I will say its a good board, their are no major flaws and it's a pretty basic ATX design which is good.

5 out of 5 eggsHard to find a cheap 1156 these days

Pros: I was looking on various websites and newegg for 1156 motherboards; for some reason these old boards go for upwards of $150! (its a 3 year old board). I luckily ran into this board when looking for new boards for my new case. It works right out of the box. Great price for a new board.

Plenty of USB ports in the back

plenty of SATA II connections.

Cons: The manual is in Chinese because these boards are sold overseas. It doesn't support SATA III and USB 3.0. this is an old board. i'm not sure if SATA III was even out back then.

Other Thoughts: I think the board was tested before being sent out because the CMOS jumper was set in the reset position.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: Quick booting time into Win 7
Solidly built

Cons: Only supports up to 1333 mHz RAM speed, whereas my RAM is 1600 mHz - although so far I've noted no real performance hindrance

Other Thoughts: My previous mobo went bust and I was looking for a replacement. LGA 1156 socket mobo's are hard to find right now, was almost going to buy a "refurbished" one on e-Bay, until this suddenly popped up on Newegg. Very timely offer.

After approximately 1 week of usage, no real problems. Took me a while to figure out the audio driver software though, as no sound came out of my headphones. Solved it eventually.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Older LGA 1156 CPUs

Pros: LGA 1156 socket. I consider this a pro because these motherboards are getting harder and harder to come by, and this one is for an outstanding price, no less. Plethora of USB 2.0 ports. Seems to be a bit OC-friendly too, for those that might want to push their older CPU a bit. Otherwise, this is a pretty typical single PCIE x16 LGA 1156 motherboard, for all intents and purposes.

Cons: For what this board is and the generation of CPU it supports, none. It's a good, solid board so far.

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace a damaged MSI P55-CD53. In truth, I really wanted another P55-CD53, but I haven't been able to find one anywhere, let alone any other LGA 1156 motherboards. Newegg only had one other board from Biostar for a while and cost upward of $165, which just didn't agree with my wallet considering the fact that the CPU supported is now defunct tech.

So, every week or so, I stalked the Egg's LGA 1156 department, and I guess patience & persistence paid off. They got some of these in stock @ $55 and it's pretty identical to the P55-CD53, so I jumped on it.

The board was needed because I'm passing my old Core i5 760 to a friend who needed a PC for web surfing and checking email. The following is installed:

-Core i5 760
-Corsair H55 CPU water cooler
-Corsair CX430M PSU
-EVGA GeForce GT 610
-8 GB (2 x 4 GB) GSKILL Ripjaws X 1333 MHz DDR3
-WD Caviar Black 640 GB HDD

Nothing super fancy, and I already had everything but the PSU and motherboard. Worked out nicely.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well so far

Pros: After attaching all my components the board posted right away. Has been stable for the last few days of moderate use.

Cons: Instruction manual was either in Chinese or Japanese. The BIOS can't seem to control fan speed for 3 pin fans since it uses PWM instead of voltage control. The board doesn't have post beeps by default, so at first I thought it wasn't working before plugging in a monitor.

Other Thoughts: This is a replacement board for my Asus that stopped working. It's harder to find these boards these days, and for the price you really can't beat it. I was able to find an English instruction manual online and am currently ordering a few 4 pin fans so it doesn't sound like a plane is taking off in my office. Wish it would have had USB 3.0 or eSATA connections, but for the price you really can't go wrong. If I have any major issues I'll update my review.
