4 out of 5 eggsGood board for a small computer

Pros: Small footprint. Low power usage. Inexpensive.

Cons: Slow graphics. 4GB memory limit. 32bit limitation. One expansion slot.

Other Thoughts: For my application the cons I listed aren't really drawbacks, but this is not a gaming board. I wanted to build a stealth PC that had no moving parts and low power consumption that I would use for web browsing and email collection at work. I set this box behind my monitor, and run the HDMI connector into the input of the monitor that also has DVI input from my work computer, so I can switch back and forth between the two without it being obvious. Here's my setup:

RAM - 2 x PNY MN2048SD3-1066 2GB PC8500 1066MHz DDR3 SODIMM
HD - OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB
Case - M350 Universal Mini-ITX PC enclosure PicoPSU compatible
Power - 12A/144W AC to DC Switching Power Supply 110-240vAC to 12vDC PicoPSU Compatible mated to a Mini Box PicoPSU-150-XT 12V DC-DC ATX power supply

Add a keyboard and mouse, and you have a computer. I loaded Ubuntu onto it, and it runs reasonably fast. I can't watch bluray movies or netflix (Silverlight in not compatible with Linux.), but for emails and conducting my personal business it works a treat. It's tethered to my cell phone for internet access

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Great Mini ITX board with Lots of features!
FANLESS!

Cons: No DVI
Could be cheaper.

Other Thoughts: I hate to break it to the cowboy who left the 1st review, but the INTEL D2550MUD boards don't support 64 bit either. Those are the boards we use for our fanless mini ITX builds and they've never supported 64 bit Windows because Intel hasn't and won't release a 64-bit driver.

Kind of lame to give a great product a poor review because you didn't research this, and to compound the poor review with using another board WITH THE SAME LIMITATIONS as a shining example. Sounds to me like someone is feeling a bit foolish and wants to point a finger!

There aren't many quality FANLESS solutions out there and with INTEL getting out of the motherboard game, there will be even fewer! I for one hope that FOXCONN continues to make a quality, feature rich, FANLESS mini ITX board like this one!

GREAT JOB FOXCONN!

2 out of 5 eggsNo 64-bit

Pros: USB 3.0

Cons: Board does not support 64-bit, even though the onboard D2550 CPU does. Uses Realtek LAN (8111E). Uses a P4 connector (more of an annoyance than a con).

Other Thoughts: We usually use the Intel D2550MUD2 boards, but have lately been unable to acquire the boards. So we have been looking around to replace the board with something else. Unfortunately, this board does not support 64-bit. I have scoured the bios screens to see if perhaps its an option that can be changed, but have been unable to locate such an option.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Intel does not release 64bit driver for Cedar Trail.

Best regards,
Foxconn support team.
