Pros: Amazing capabilities. EVGA customer service is that of which I have never encountered. they walked me through the entire setup and diagnosed any of my problems (most were due to inexperience as a builder.)

Cons: Requires a large power supply. Not that this is really a con, it just goes to show that this MOBO is extremely powerful.

Other Thoughts: System specs:
2 EVGA 9800GTX+ superclocked running SLI
intel core 2 duo 3.2 GHz
8gb kingston hyper X ddr3 PC3 (16000)
1tb western digital HDD
1000W powerbird modular PSU

5 out of 5 eggssolid

Pros: I'm using XP pro.sp2 for now.Do not need IDE to boot up like a past review said, sata drive worked perfect.I have a mid tower Thermaltake Tsunami sure if I had full tower sata ports might have been easier to get to but w/smaller hands if I had a kid w/anti-static gloves to put the sata in I would have.Black sata are southbridge, red are JMicron's(jmb362).Fan control is great in bios if you use 4 wire connect w/ your NON-STOCK heatsink and fan.I used ASUS V52 w/back X bracket w/metal srcews before I put board in case W/Asus stock(pre-applied) thermal paste 2 weeks later cpu never goes over 38c and board never over 32c.My on board sound worked fine.

Cons: none yet.Go to EVGA site thru Newegg and what memory EVGA recommends for this board!Played thru W@War solo on Balanced mode worked great.(in my opinion if you don't have to use plastic push pin system for your heatsink and fan DON'T!).

Other Thoughts: Crucial Ballistix DDR3 2000 BL2KIT12864BE2009(if only 2gigs use black memory slots)I'll fill purple in when I get cash for OS64,Intel E8500,ASUS V52 92mm,2gigs memory,WD1002FBYS RE3 1TB,SILVERSTONE OP1000-E 1000W,BYTECC Black 1.44MB Internal Floppy Drive Model BT-145,EVGA 512-P3-N975-AR GeForce 9800 GT,LITE-ON iHAS422-08.Have not had money for sli to test:(

5 out of 5 eggsNice Motherboard for a E8600 Cpu

Pros: Can run Nvidia SLI ( 3 ) if you want to go overboard.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Left the orginial bios, DZ13s, from what I've researched about this board, they are the most stable. Have the E8600 cpu running at 4.00 with just a slight voltage boost. Kingston HyperX DDR 3 - 1800 works great, synced at 1800 in bios. Like others have mentioned, the bios is a little bit technical to navigate, but you can use Dummy OC to boost up your cpu, but that raises the voltages too high.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo

Pros: 10 USB 2.0, along with 2 ethernet ports, supports up to 3 PCI-E (currently using 2)
BIOS easy to set up, setting up the RAID 5 was a snap
easy set up, good value, very stable

Cons: Not really a con, but it requires a large power supply. The manual recommends 1000 watts with 3 PCI-E cards but I am using an 850 watt supply with 2 PCI-E cards, and it seems to be fine.
Be sure to use plenty of fans. I am generating some serious heat.

Other Thoughts: System Specs:
EVGA 790i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Q8300 2.5GHz Quad Core CPU
8 gb (4 x 2gb) mushkin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Ram
2 EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit video card (operating SLI)
3 WD 750gb Black SATA HDD in a RAID 5
Black Widow 850 watt power supply (60A at 12V)
all in an Antek 900 ATX mid tower

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome board and worth the price

Pros: I looked at this board on the premise that I could tack a 3rd SLI card with my other two I have a month or two down the line. I plan on OCing after get a new H2O system installed. Considering the features this has on the bios. Why would you not OC? You can go the easy route with their setups of 5 to 20%. Else you can be really sneaky and tweak the speeds yourself. I tossed a Q9650 in here and the thing just sings. Hell I have a 7.5 rating for the CPU / Mobo for this.

Cons: The only issues I had were with the design of the board. I have Silverstone Raven case and the plugin slots and on mobo power/reset buttons are in tight location. Which even if I had a different case would still have issues due to the Video Card covering the slots. The other design flaw is that if you put 3 SLI dual slot cards in, then purchase a Creative Fatality PCI-X card. I found that I had to pull the screw in the back bottom section that hold the shroud of the sound card to the circuit board of the sound card out. The issue is that the screw gets in the way when putting it in between the video card, put in the PCI-X16, and the fan on the motherboard that blow on the heat pipe for the north and south bridges. Took my 10 minutes to figure out what the deal was. So if you plan on using the PCI-X1 slot near the CPU, then you will want to be mindful of the size of the card in depth.

Other Thoughts: Other than the layout issue, it is a sweet board and works well in my rig.

Cons: Tight fit for my Soundblaster Titanium X-FI Fatality in the top PCI-Express 1x slot,Had to remove one of the top screws to get it to fit

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best LGA775 boards available for overclocking.

Pros: For LGA775, this is pretty much the top of the heap. With prices for the QX9650/QX9770 falling, and lots of used chips coming on the market, this board is a very viable option for those wanting max performance for the dollar. Great BIOS and overclocking features, could only be improved by the ability to save all BIOS settings and not just timing/voltage. Also, to be able to save more than 3 profiles and edit the profile titles would be nice, too... but those are just small, nitpicking things. Overall, it's an excellent board.

Cons: This is an enthusiast board... if you're looking for user friendly features and a simple BIOS, this isn't for you. That isn't a negative in my opinion, but some people think they are buying a board that will "automatically" give them more performance. You actually need to do the research to know what settings to change. In other words, don't waste your money on an overclocking board if you don't plan on overclocking.

Other Thoughts: snipeap55 (Not a happy camper): You installed updates meant for 2 different boards, neither of which is this one. E180_DZ17 is for the 790i Digital (this board), and you should ONLY use an update for your EXACT model. The others, E179_SZ13 is for the 790i For The Win (a different board), E178_SZ17 is for the 780i For The Win. EVGA has about the best customer service in the industry, it's not their fault if you're randomly installing updates for other boards. (Note: I spelled out For The Win because Newegg filters the abbreviation)

4 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: -Comes with decent instructions/diagrams
-DDR3 w/o i7 prices
-Good BIOS
-Great Performance - 3xPCI-E's

Cons: -DDR3 w/o i7 tri-channel capabilities (doesn't really seem to matter - dual channel is quite good..)

Other Thoughts: Best value out there for high performance DDR3 memory

Pros: Great features, lots of end-user adjustments, fired right up, post code indicator was very helpfull, Tri-SLI!! Plenty of USBs, great audio, am very happy with this Motherboard. Great job EVGA.

Cons: Bad instructions for the average consumer, cooling fins are great but will limit CPU cooling options.

5 out of 5 eggsNot for everyone!

Pros: You have to have some good understanding of this board to use it's full benifits! read the manuel closely, it will reveal most of your problems.

Cons: Still to high for the market, but i still got it , the $30 rebate was the sell.

Other Thoughts: To the one (Not a happy camper!) you did'nt use the right bios for your flash! you should of used DZ17 for this board. NOT SZ, DZ for Digital,VDROOP, hinz this is the E180 board (NOT the E179). Also if you use RAM higher then 1600 put it in the black dimm slots ! do your Homework before you get mad @ EVGA and want to RMA it back.
