All-Around Good
- Pros: Works very well and is reasonably priced.
- Cons: One of the things that bothered me was the location of the SATA ports. If you have a giant graphics card the SATA ports are unreachable. It becomes a pain to take out the card every time you need to plug or unplug a SATA cable.
- Other Thoughts: I like the 3-pin fan connectors but I wish there were more.
Works Great
- Pros: Looks cool.
Hook it up, it worked. Easy to understand diagram sheet. 2 sata cables. HDMI Easy BIOS flash
- Cons: None. Exactly what you will expect if you read all specs.
- Other Thoughts: when you get this board, update the BIOS first. If it doesnt function properly call support, if it still dont work send it back. Mine works perfectly, all audio ports, HDMI, sata everydreasy1thing.
Perfect for intended use
- Pros: Good layout. Onboard graphics excellent for my purposes. Easy to understand BIOS options with lots of options. Plenty of USB headers.
- Cons: Only "Quickstart" printed documentation. Complete manual is on driver CD. You have to have a second computer to view BIOS setup prior to installing OS/PDF reader. Only 2 on board fan headers. Only one SATA device cable.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this board to build a computer for a relative who doesn't play graphic intense games. It is combined with an Athlon X2 5200, a single hard drive, one optical drive, 2 gigs of memory, and a 550W power supply. It's assembled in a Cooler Master Elite 335 case.
Assembly was very easy- lots of room on the board, even with the onboard graphics. Booted first try and performed flawlessly during installation of OS and additional software. I've seen complaints about the way the SATA connections are laid out, but I didn't have any trouble- I took the covers off both sides of the case and connected the SATA cables from the motherboard tray side.
This is my first EVGA board, and so far it is impressive. The goal was to build a reliable computer (hardware only) for less than $500. This came in under $400 excluding shipping (to Alaska).
