Great motherboard
- Pros: Great motherboard, good for overclocking and such.
Great for gamers who want to play the latest and greatest games without spending a lot of money (stated below by somebody).
- Cons: YOU MUST UPDATE THE BIOS!
Update the BiOS or else your graphics card won't be able to work to it's fullest. My 9800 GTX+ can run Modern Warfare on highest on my monitor but it lagged and dropped my framerate to around 16 if the BiOS aren't updated.
- Other Thoughts: Great motherboard, make sure you update the BiOS. The BiOS on my motherboard already were dated 5/09.
As high as 4.38 GHz overclock on air. Need I say more?
- Pros: Unbelievable OC potential that lets the i7 go as high as it can possibly go depending on the BIOS version installed. Looks great performs even greater.
- Cons: F3/F6 "no boot loops" on certain BIOS versions that can be easily fixed by flashing the BIOS to a higher or lower version.
Great Motherboard
- Pros: Great Motherboard. I've never used anything but ASUS, but EVGA was refreshingly easy to hook up and the BIOS are easy to navigate.
- Cons: Didn't come with screws. I had to pull the screws out of my old motherboard and then find 3 more so that I could ground it. I find it hard to imagine that this is typical, but I've never used EVGA before so maybe it is. Either way, it didn't really cause me any problems, but it was a bit annoying.
- Other Thoughts: I was having problems at first with random restarts. After spending a day trouble shooting, I realized that my ram runs at 1.65 volts and the MB had it set up at 1.5 volts. Anything 4gigs and under runs fine, but if you're using more than 4g, you have to manually up the voltage to make it stable. Found this out from EVGA's great customer support, so kudos for that as well.
