5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Nice looking
easy to set up
plenty of fan headers
easy to install heatsinks on it

Cons: The header for the front panel audio is underneath the second pci express slot, so anybody who wants to use SLI (like myself) can't use the headphone/microphone ports on the front of their case. Not enough for me to dock an egg because I never used them anyway, but buyer beware.

Other Thoughts: Great board for the price, EVGA is a great company and will stand by this. You would do well to make the jump.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Good Design. EVGA Warranty.

Cons: Front panel audio connector is buried under my SLI video cards. Tech support says bend it and then plug cards in. Don't think so.

Other Thoughts: Good job EVGA. I use your video cards too. Keep up the awesomeness.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat looks

Pros: First off, looks awesome! Has a temp reader on board. Cosmetics look great on this board. Unfortunately there are some issues I will review in cons.

Cons: Manual was worthless. BIOS sucks and has very limited options, had some serious quirks when installing and took all my technical experience to get this MOBO going.

Other Thoughts: I love EVGA's warranty so I am not worried about anything. Overall does its job now and looks sweet just not a good board if you are building your first build.

5 out of 5 eggsP55 SLI

Pros: Great board, lots of ports, dual gigabit ethernet, CMOS reset buttons, nice BIOS, comes with a preloaded overclock setting (decent but small) for people who are new to overclocking.

Cons: Start up is strange for someone not used to how it runs. It will start up and beep once, turn off and then start up 'normally'. First time it did this I was freaking out cause I thought I broke it, but its supposed to do this. It first loads up your bios setting and then boots to the OS.

Other Thoughts: People should really research the products they're going to buy before complaining about faulty products. P55 boards never have two x16 slots, the P55 chipset doesn't support it! This is also a SLI board. Crossfire doesn't work on this board, but its never advertised that it will. If anyones wondering why theres what looks like a 3rd x16 slot, its so you can hook up another graphics card as a dedicated physics card (or dedicated folding card), but its limited to x4.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Cool LED's, SLI (yes, its only x8, but that's the best U can get with lynnfield) good overclock options, added speed from my previous mobo.

Cons: no cables, no standoffs. the front panel audio has a bizarre label on the board, but is clearly marked in the instructions and diagram. No IDE. my TV tuner sits above the glowing evga logo, wish there was somewhere else to put it.

Other Thoughts: My last 2 mobo's died, same brand, so I decided to get this one, since I love evga cards. its pretty, lots of overclock options. It does use right angle type sata connectors, I personally like them, keeps things out of the way. My PC boots up a lot faster with this, over my previous mobos. I have an i7 860 and an evga gtx 50 in it, and its flyin. Looks to be the best buy of the lynnfield mobo's left.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Board

Pros: Got me excited

Cons: When you turn the computer on it gives a beep code at me. Thinking it was the ram I put my whole setup back in my old board to see if I was having any hardware issues with what I had. When I plugged everything back in my old board everything came up fine. I have 8GB DDR3 2000 (10600), XFX Radeon 5750 crossfire XFX Radeon 5770, Core i7 2.8GHZ, SSD RevoDrive 50GB PCI-E. Thought it might be my video cards cause it says SLI ready but the board supports Crossfire and then thought it was the ram cause it says 2600MHZ+ and I have 2000MHZ. Well People are using 1600MHZ and running it fine so its not faulty hardware its just the board itself so now I have to go through the RMA process and boy is this fun.

1 out of 5 eggsProblems too many.

Pros: Good board, runs quiet and easy to install.

Cons: Too many small problems, and I tried everything to fix them up. The CPU fan control has not worked since I got the board, so I run a Zalman fan controller to keep cpu fan quiet. Sometimes a BSOD for no reason, and the board stalls and hesitates on executing commands, only to continue after a minute. It bothers me most when I am busy doing web searches, or especially when I am viewing pictures in the media center, and it stalls on launching a pic, or continuing to the next pic in a slideshow. It's a real drag. It is like locking up, but then after a minute, it would continue.

Other Thoughts: I am through with to buy evga boards. I just can't trust them for performance. There are several other manufacturers I know their boards, and they are dependable. Not recommended the 655 SLI evga board.

5 out of 5 eggsTo the guy below

Pros: Great board.
Lots of features not found on more expensive boards.

Cons: Wish it was 1155 instead for SB

Other Thoughts: To the guy below this review, No games even come close to using the full bandwidth of 16x pci-e so an 8x bus in sli will not show a hit in performance one bit.

2 out of 5 eggsHalf Broken

Pros: Looks cool, supposedly has some good features for relatively cheap.

Cons: Board came to me as half broken and in very poor quality. It looks, on the outside, to be quite well built, but when I powered it up, half of the DIMM slots didn't work. I worked around it and just set my RAM as single channel and didn't really bother with it. A few months later, I would get another GPU to run SLI as I had planned. Though both GPUs are functional, I am having a very hard time getting the motherboard to recognize both at once. I did get it to recognize both at one time, but I added another hard drive and it no longer recognizes both again. This board seems to be half-broken and not worth the money.

Other Thoughts: I love EVGA, but this is a very low quality board. I'd definitely recommend getting something better in general -- a motherboard is not something that should be cheap, especially if you plan on doing any form of SLI.
