4 out of 5 eggsWould buy again

Pros: This board has been rock solid since day one. It's done everything I've asked without issues.

Cons: Where the CPU socket is situated, I wasn't able to mount the heatsink that I wanted to. The stock CPU heatsink mounts fine though.

Other Thoughts: I would absolutely love this board with one or two more usable PCI slots.

2 out of 5 eggsI'm done with eVGA motherboards.

Pros: Strong feature set for the money. Clean no-frill look. Good customer/tech support. Lots of extras & accessories included. Decent overclocking capabilities. USB 3.0 and SATA-III (not all X58 boards have both of these).

Cons: Marvell SATA-III controller slow to boot (adds several seconds to boot time unless you disable it). eVGA basically stopped releasing drivers & BIOS updates very quickly. First board died in 3 months, second board died a few months out of warranty.

Other Thoughts: I like eVGA for their video cards, but when it comes to motherboards, this one will be my last. I've been burned by their motherboards too many times now. Over the last 6 or so years I've had several of their boards fail just after the warranty expires, or fail almost right away after getting them. While their RMA & support team is great, it's frustrating to only get 3 years out of a board before it completely stops working. I was very appreciative of their support guys trying to get my second X58 FTW3 working even when out of warranty, so kudos to Jose in support.

For the record, I have never overclocked any of my eVGA boards and have used quality PSUs.

eVGA can stick to video cards and I'll gladly buy those. As for motherboards, I'll be using Asus from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Dependable so far. All the features i wanted. Cool looking, well built board.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My first EVGA motherboard purchase. I'm glad i did. Rocking an I7 with 6 gigs of ram and a 5870 and a Mushkin SSD with 2-1 terabyte storage drives and everything is great. EVGA is my new go-to for motherboards.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good layout and design.
RAM slots very snappy, makes for comfortable install.
CPU slot had me worried at first but ends up being just fine.

Cons: I don't believe it matches the ATX case specs correctly. About half the screw holes don't match up at all and have to go without.
Also, the PCI slots didn't line up with the case slots either, my GPU was hitting the seperators. Had to remove the mobo, install the GPU and pick new screw holes that would allow it to align properly.

Other Thoughts: Even after the above con, I still give 4 eggs cause of how well it performs. Plus the software that comes with is nice and can overclock with ease.
The other reason is that there's a chance the case is the culprit in being out of alignment. I doubt it because that's really the only spec to worry about when making a case but still possible.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO

Pros: These boards are great. This is my third build using this board. All work as advertised. Bought this board mainly for the two nics and USB 3 support. Southern Cal tech support is 24/7 and English is NOT their second language.

Cons: None so far. This one is about 5 months old and going strong. Got 2 others running 6 and 7 months with no problems.

Other Thoughts: Using the second nic for a dedicated pipe to sister machine for sharing Photoshop files. This keeps traffic off the router. USB 3 CF card reader is so fast its scary. No more waiting on files to download. Overall a good solid mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsI know it's old, but....

Pros: I've had this board a long time now and love it. EVGA Baby!. Customer service is awesome, the board has been flawless.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: i did RMA the board once a few months ago but I was never sure the issue was with the board since i RMA'd a lot of things then.

1 out of 5 eggsLook out

Pros: This board came with the perfect assortment of features for the machine I was building. I bought one for work and one for home and with the exception of losing years of data as detailed below, the board is actually rock solid.

Cons: Just like another user here, my board's internal SATA 3 drive controller (assumed) also destroyed my hard drives. Three of them in fact. Two SSD (OCZ Petrols) and one 500GB Western Digital SATA. To be honest, this is the only complaint but it is a utterly and completely unacceptable one. Thank goodness for Dropbox and backups or I'd have been in serious trouble. Meanwhile I'm out $600 worth of hard drives...

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize your hard drives are no longer working. There is very little feedback a sata controller can give a hard drive to cause it to be inoperable. I would suggest you swap out your power supply incase you are experiencing power surges. If you do have any issues with the board itself please contact our 24/7 technical support (888)-881-3842 so we can assist you further.

5 out of 5 eggsRandomly Picky Sata Port

Pros: Very clean-looking motherboard. Layout fit almost everything perfectly. Only issue was I couldn't connect a back chassis fan to the designated chassis fan slot. Whether short fan cord or just distanced, not a problem. All ports currently seem to work just fine. Love the error code indicator and power/reset buttons built directly onto the motherboard.

The sliding of PCIe cards in and out of the slots is unbelievable. Prior motherboards I had to pull or maneuver my hands to try and bend a plastic holder, but this motherboard basically has a set slide to move and it slides out with ease.

Cons: I had issues with the order I plugged in my SATA devices although I use a PCIe Solid State Drive. Had a lot of errors but cannot be sure it was motherboard related as I was also having CPU heatsink issues. The motherboard box was basically demolished when I received it. Corners dented and ripped and seemed like it was through some hell.

Other Thoughts: Hearing a type of buzzing sound from my general CPU area that I don't recall in my previous motherboard. I doubt it is motherboard-related, probably just something weird with the heatsink ;0. I would appreciate if EVGA could ship a new motherboard box as I tend to keep things in good condition in case I upgrade and have to send it off to someone else.

Overall for the price (minus the rebate), MUCH better than the Asus motherboard I spent 3 months trying to RMA. Haven't had a single consistent issue that I can tag on the motherboard and my EVGA experience in the past has kept me appreciative of their service.
