4 out of 5 eggsImpressed to say the Least!!!

Pros: This board setup was flawless... looks to be flawless... Looks like i got myself a good manufactured board, so far.... 7 PCIe slots, heaven... Plenty of room for SLI'n. I only got this to RMA my G1. Assassin for bent pins. This is my first EVGA board, too bad it had to be a re-certified one.

Cons: No sound card slot. On-board sound just graciously suck compared to what I'm used to.

Other Thoughts: Came in a plain box with just the system board and the I/O shield. Nothing else!! So Hopefully it'll run for a month or so.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product.

Pros: Very sturdy board. Everything seems to be well manufactured. plenty of room for everything. Running 3 680gtx on it with no problems.

Cons: No pcie 1x slot for a sound card? Not to big of a con because its something you know you are getting when you buy the board.

Other Thoughts: My north bridge is running hot... I'm talking with customer support right now to see whats wrong. So far none of the things they are suggesting are working. EVGA says that it is running a bit warm but still far from over heating. We will see what happens and I will keep people updated.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: On my board everything worked great. Ran my 2-way sli of GTX 680's just fine. Loaded 24GB DDR3 2000 just fine, and my 980X CPU overclocked VERY well on this board. Guess I got a good refurbished board

Cons: Nothing at all

3 out of 5 eggsi've calmed down a bit

Pros: It's been a few months, I got a new board and it works for the most part. Every one in a while it refuses to boot and hangs on post but if i reboot a few times that goes away. I am a mostly satisfied customer although I will not RMA again for fear of another non booting board.

Cons: still has some issues

Other Thoughts: I am a much calmer person than I was before the motherboard started working worked.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

If you have any further issues with the board please contact me directly so we can work on any issues together, Matth@evga.com

1 out of 5 eggsIncredibly Angry Man, The Final Rage

Pros: looks pretty impressive

Cons: DOA DOA DOA DOA THEN OUT OF STOCK WITH NO REFUND

Other Thoughts: I have received 4 boards, all of which had different error codes and problems. I work as a technician and to the best of my ability I dont believe I am doing anything incorrectly. I have tested with 2 power supplies, 2 cases, 2 cpus, and several sticks of ram. The best part about this motherboard is that it is an XL-ATX motherboard meaning I bought a new case specifically for the larger motherboard, I am now unable to receive an RMA because they are out of stock and do not know when or if they will be getting stock in!? I was offered the 3-way classified motherboard bur really anyone who buys this board buys it with the intention of using all of the pci express slot or with 4 way sli!

So in summary, DOA DOA DOA DOA OUT OF STOCK.
MONEY LOST ON BOARD THAT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED
MONEY LOST ON CASE THAT I CAN NOT GET BACK
MONEY LOST ON USB 3.0 CARD THAT I WILL NEVER USE NOW.

the worst part? its not uncommon for this board, happening to people a lot.
thanks evga, really helpful

5 out of 5 eggsCLOSEST SINGLE CPU BOARD YOU WILL FIND TO THE SR-2

Pros: This is my 3rd board for my game room and EVGA dont use cheap parts and typically the 200 chip on here being supperior to all in running all 4 lanes in X16 isnt cheap either.Do your homework before you talk about cheap parts, This board had set record benchmarks when it was new.I had this refurb board for several months now and no complaints. I suggest you update bios to the latest 83 update first.Use the CD method it is the easiest.990X CPU,3 EVGA 570 GTX ,6 Gigs Corsair 1600 v7.1, 2x 90gig Sata 3 Corsair in raid 0,EVGA SR-2 PSU, EK water block due to the heat ranges on the NB/SB chipset. EVGA OC software which is free from their website. The BIOS is advanced so consider this if your OC the NB/SB chip. Best 1366 X58 Board you wont be sorry. This board runs awsome in all sli configs. You will need a power supply to match.Do your research on this board before you buy because often times problems are not with the board its with the setup you have like PSU, or BIOS update.

Cons: No SPDIF function so if sound is important to you, you will need a pciX sound card, i use the XFI creative labs and runs great on the 4th pci x16 slot. Board will fit in most full ATX cases if you dont populate the 4th pci ex slot. Had no problems with the Marvel controler yet but i know it is an issue with this board. Dont assume the voltages set in BIOS are accurate use the meter. My board came warped with a bent heat sink but the EK water block helped straighten it and it works fine rite now so i did not send it back. Also EVGA does answer questions you have on this board they just dont warrant the board. NOTE: the manual is not available for download from EVGA but everything else is. Like all refurbs you get the board and nothing else and it states that so if you need a 3 or 4 way bridge you can get it from EVGA website. setting up SSD"s in Raid require a different prossedure than spin drives so keep that in mind. And it is an issue with the SSD not the Marvell Controler.

Other Thoughts: This board was claimed to been designed by enthusiests as well as the SR-2. So what geniouse forgot about the SPDIF socket. Good thing creative labs is their to back you up EVGA. The SPDIF terminals dont cut it with Quad SLI. Their is a big difference between supporting it and actually having the socket on the board. Board still gets a perfect 10 for me because its the only single cpu board out their that runs true 4 way sli in X16. To bad 1366 phased out i really wanted this board brand new. I will continue to buy this board even as a refurb as i expand the game room and the 990X cpu is still available.

1 out of 5 eggsBe careful

Pros: If you are testing or in for a overclocking this give it a try.
Fast motherboard
EVGA Technical support is really the best of all mobos second to ASUS

Cons: Dies quickly
Not really for stable long term use
Cheap onboard components
wired errors - due to cheap components and parts, you need to make special hardware tweaks to have them select others from BIOS.. sincerely wired errors!

Other Thoughts: Wish this board was build without cheap components and parts!
If you are in for a solid fast mobo stick with ASUS they are the best

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize if you are having difficulty with your system. The E762 has been out for approximately 4 years and received many awards for its innovation and quality. If the errors only occur when overclocking you may need to reduce the overclock or tweak your voltages. If you are having issues getting it stable at stock settings please contact our 24/7 technical support (888)-881-3842 or me directly Matth@evga.com and we would be happy to work with you on this.

5 out of 5 eggsAs it should be

Pros: Cheaper than a new one (if you could find one) overclocks great. I have several evga X58 boards and this one is great as well. Evga X58 series are some of the better X58 boards around.

Cons: Cons? Only 90 day warranty.

Other Thoughts: To the review was very negative because board came with out accessories or install disc, LEARN TO READ! This is a refurbished board and clearly states accessories are NOT included, only I/O plate.

4 out of 5 eggsAll is well. So far,

Pros: Excellent board design. Lots of SATA ports with RAID function if ever needed. All around great board, except....

Cons: For some reason, my usb controllers do not initialize until windows starts. To do anything in setup I had to dig up an old ps/2 keyboard just to get in and change things. Don't know why that is happening but it is really murder for someone who mainly runs linux and has to be able to use keyboard all the time. I use boot flags before i boot alot of times depending on that i am doing and this bites the bullet on that for me.

Other Thoughts: If anyone at Newegg or EVGA sees this and can ofer some incite i will take any suggestions. Granted i know its a re-certified board but still. things ought to work properly when the manufacturer re-certifies them. otherwise they shouldn't let it pass QC
