1 out of 5 eggsWent wrong after 1 YR

Pros: Worked wonderfully while it worked

Cons: Died with very poor error coding

Other Thoughts: Item died a horrible and tragic death after 1 year and 7 days of use. I would not recommend others purchase this as although it was lovely to use for the first year, the troubles it caused at the end as well as their limited 1 year only warranty, and suspicious death literally days after the warranty ended has not gone well.

Because it died on the 30th of April and not the 20th, I am now out a motherboard and there isn't anything to do for it. Find a better motherboard, and avoid anything refurbished because of that awful 1 year warranty. No one wants a motherboard for a year.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Solid board. BIOS is ancient.

Pros: Had this re-certified board a little over a month now. It works fine. I stressed it for 3-4 days straight using Prime95 with no problem. It does support XMP memory profiles and some overclocking but BIOS menu are very basic and unintuitive for overclocking.

I like the onboard power, reset buttons and diagnostic LEDs.

The board is a good value as it's X58 under $100. The only thing that comes in the box is the rear case IO shield. Nothing else.

Cons: BIOS menu is very basic and unintuitive. It takes a while to figure out how to tweak the memory speed etc but it can be done.

The board does go thru 2 reset loops when it sees new components (like new CPU, add memory). Not a big issue for me but got me worried at first.

I was hoping it has dual BIOS support in case something went wrong, but it doesn't.

It can support RAID but again, hard to figure out without looking into the manual.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very good value board. It has full hardware features (2 USB 3.0, 8 USB 2.0/1.1, 2 set of internal USB headers. 6 SATA2+ 2 SATA3. Triple channel memory). It does skimp on BIOS though.

Running solid for the past 5-6 weeks and so far happy with it.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Cheap board, Stable platform. Works with 1366 Xeons.

Cons: No accessories.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a stable work horse, this will do the job. If your looking to use ti for over clocking and tweaking, probably not for you. I am running Server 2008 r2 without issues. 1366 is still a stable and powerful platform, and at the price, this board is an incredible deal.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Board Bad Support

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: Company doesn't provide enough utilities to take full advantage of this board. It runs OK after you spend hours playing with the ancient bios.
Stay away spend the extra money

Other Thoughts: EVGA does not understand if you seel it support it. It only makes users frustrated that they are on their own setting this board up.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize if you had issues configuring your motherboard. We do offer tools such as Eleet for tuning your motherboard and overclocking. In general the only recommended change to the BIOS is updating the BIOS and setting your memory timings, voltage, and speed manually. Any other changes are considered overclocking and done at your own risk.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good deal for me

Pros: It works. The board appears to be 100% functional, always a plus with a refurb board. It has a lot of features, and for 90 bucks, well you can't beat that. CPU, SSD and all RAM recognized. Since it all works with my components, I won't bother flashing the BIOS to the latest rev. If it ain't broke...

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was concerned seeing the negative reviews, but for $89 I took a chance. I put in a LGA1366 i7-950 and 24GB (6 X 4GB) of Corsair Vengeance 1600 RAM, a ZOTAC GeForce GT 430 video card, a Patriot Lightening SATAIII 120GB SSD, a ASUS BluRay burner. I got them all from NewEgg and there were lots of discounts and rebates (it took me about 4 months to buy all the parts, looking for super sales and deals component by component). I also put it all in a Rosewill 4U server case (that was the only item I wasn't thrilled with, but it was cheap), with a 1KW modular PSU. All told about 700 bucks worth of stuff. It is blazingly fast though. It is used for VMs, development and general development and goofing around. OS is Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit. I did notice that the Northbridge tends to run a little warm, hovering near 60C, whereas the CPU stays around 40. Not sure if the NB temp is normal for this board, I might need to rework the case airflow a bit...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board Low Cost

Pros: Low Cost, Solid Chipset, SATA 6GB, USB 3.0

Cons: Weird BIOS first few boots

Other Thoughts: Other than the fact that the first few boots the BIOS was a complete spaz until you get in and tinker with it the board has performed perfectly. Layout is nice, bumped my i7 920 up to 2.85 Ghz with no issues. Great board to install OS X on as well. Happy I swapped out my old DX58SO that board is a pile.

1 out of 5 eggs2 bad ones in a row

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: none

Cons: I don't think that guy said it gets into windows. The bios screen is in safe mode, not windows is in safe mode, that is if you are lucky enough to get the bios to load instead of the whole thing resetting. Most of the times that I turn it on, it resets, after it resets, it resets. Sometimes it gets past bios and hangs on the lan initializing screen. If I change any bios settings it resets or hangs.

Unfortunately it's replacement only. Savings on a cheap motherboard eaten up by shipping costs.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

1 out of 5 eggsAnother bad one

Pros: I bet it would be good if I didn't get a bad one.

Cons: Same as the other two guys. It keeps resetting, then maybe posts in 'safe mode' and I can either go into setup or boot. If I choose boot, it hangs and resets. If I change anything in setup, it resets for a while then posts in safe mode.

Other Thoughts: Happens I guess. Will start the return process soon and hope the next one is better.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize your system is not loading. If this was not a fresh installation of windows I would recommend doing so as the chipset drivers would differ. If it is a fresh install of windows please contact our 24/7 technical support for further troubleshooting (888)-881-3842.

4 out of 5 eggsB stock

Pros: This is an EVGA b-stock board. Works great. Been installed for about 2 months and everything is going smooth.

Cons: Could of got it cheaper had EVGA had it in stock when I needed this particular board. Removed a star because of that.

Other Thoughts: This board has all the bells and whistles (i think) for an X58 board. Why pay more. I have a Toshiba Notebook 3.0 USB running on the boards 3.0 slot. I have two SSD drives running 6 gbs SATA. Easy install...ran first time it was booted up.
