Engineered for the performance users with excellent overclocking features. Includes a GUI BIOS that is focused on functionality, new software interface for overclocking in the O.S., high quality components, M.2 storage option and more.

It starts with a full 6 Layer PCB, improving overall overclock stability and PCB cooling. The memory trace layout is optimized for compatibility, improved overclocking and 4 DIMM memory support. The Z97 FTW also features a 6 Phase PWM for the cleanest variable power switching and efficient power to your CPU. A slew of great onboard devices including additional 2 Port SATA 6G controller for a total of 8 SATA 6 ports, Intel Gigabit LAN and a USB 3.0 controller for a total of 6 USB 3.0 devices.

The GUI BIOS has been further enhanced, and is brought down to a very lean state while achieving its main goal of keeping it easy to use and follow while not compromising at all on functionality. The way a modern BIOS should be.

  • 6 LAYER PCB

High layer count enhances stability both for heavy loads as well as high over-clocks.

  • HIGH GOLD CONTENT FOR CPU SOCKET

Higher volume of precious metal (Gold) used in the sockets greatly improves the conductivity and produces a cleaner signal due to less resistance/impedance.

Z97
  • PCI-E DISABLE SWITCHES

No need to remove a card when testing, instead you can disable the slot with a dip-switch, this can greatly reduce the time spent in troubleshooting , as you do not need to disassemble anything to isolate PCI-E components.

Z97
  • 2 WAY SLI SUPPORT + PHYSX

The Z97 FTW is rated for SLI + PhysX to handle to most demanding video loads.

Z97
  • 6 PHASE PWM

A 6 Phase PWM helps to ensure that the power reaching the processor is clean and stable.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA feels under rated as a mainboard manufacturer

Pros: First off, it booted up the first time without any issues even with a set of memory not specifically approved by EVGA.

Lots of really cool fit and finish features. I love the on board power buttons, the on board CPU temp readout. I like that there is a cover for the I/O components. I like the design of the rear I/O panel which is a nice matte black instead of the typical polished aluminum. Tons of fan power sockets. Two BIOS saves. Power toggleing PCIe slots. Attractive colors. Appears to have plenty of overclocking tools and support.

Cons: None as of yet. I am becomming an EVGA fan

Other Thoughts: I have this board with EVGAs GTX 980 and the EVGA 850 power supply in a cooler master HAF 922 and everything looks like it belongs together. Has run smoothly since first bootup.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Very clean easy to read board. Quality build overall. Wonderful easy to use bios. Sharp looks as well. More than enough fan headers. Debug codes/CPU temp on board (great if you have a clear side panel)

Cons: The I/O cover. Mine came with a slight bend on screw holes. Looks sweet. Just be careful with your discreet. If like the MSI GTX 960/970 100 ME it has a back plate it will not clear that card at all (found out after forgetting it first time). PCI slots could be just a hair lower to allow it.

CPU power. Yeah. Fun fun location. Watch your case and you will be alright although you may want a slightly longer length from PSU.

Bottom power connection. Yeah. Faces like the sata ports and is actually blocked in my case.

Arrived with a warp. I say the worries about the heat sink and still decided that it's EVGA one of the last customer friendly companies. Other than the warp from tight packaging it did arrive fine

2 out of 5 eggsdoes not work

Pros: good brand, I have gpu and psu from evga!

Cons: motherboard board nice design but it does not work! I set every thing up, when I turned it on I heared 4 beefs( that mean System has failured as I check on the website) . I contacted evga technical support and worked with them in an hours, but we could not get solution for it. I returned it.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely great

Pros: The motherboard has 6 I mean 6 pwm controllable fan headers and one power fan header. Also this has a great PCI express layout and has 6 SATA III ports by the Intel chipset and an extra 2 by the marble chipset. And includes a dual easy to use bios which can easily over clock and type of Intel processor.

Cons: Not really a con but the AUX 6 pin power connector is at the left hand bottom corner and should be unnecessary

Other Thoughts: The new bios is really easy to use here is my build

5 out of 5 eggsOk But could be better.

Pros: Overall this is a good board compared to competitors. Got is this on a deal and saved %80 plus $40 worth of rebates with purchase of gtx 970 FTW

Cons: has an 6pin power for additional energy needs on the corner of the board. the problem is it faces outward and not upward like the other other power connectors. I can't really use as have a split bottom compartment on my case. This is not a huge con as i don't need the aux pci power even with SLI 970's

Other Thoughts: A few things to mention thought the m.2 slot is and e key so if you plan on putting a m.2 SSD (ie the future of SSD's) forget it. more for a wi fi adapter (which can be nice if you don run wired). Fortunately, UEFI native booting is present so booting from an m.2 from the PCI x4 slot with adapter seems possible (win 8.1+). A lot of great quality parts on the board (ie SS Caps). Also the IO shield cover is a little close to the back of the discrete GPU card (be aware of this when you are installing as a short may happen if the card in leaning too much). Also EVGA stands by the products. This is my 24th buy and first EVGA mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO so far

Pros: I researched and researched boards for about 2 weeks. I was stuck between this and the maximus vii. Both had the color scheme i was going for but more importantly the specs i was looking for.
This board was cake to build on and has many extra options that i didn't even get to but makes it expandable.
Pros: Easy to build on
very attractive in my opinion
The deal to get this board and graphics card i wanted for 40 off was too good plus a mail in rebate. rice definitely beat out the maximus.
I have not tried overclocking yet, but will get there soon.

Cons: couldnt tell if it was the board or cpu or just win 8, but the first day or 2 i had it, ii would do a some thing random and the comp would freeze hard. for multiple minutes. I usually had to hard reset the computer. I read a couple forums that this happens to win 8 before all the updates happen so i am thinking this is the case. Will update later if necessary.

Other Thoughts: I wish i had a desk to type on so this review would be a little more in depth.
Based on my experience of a week, this mobo is rock solid.

I will share my rig with you.

5 out of 5 eggsA dependable no-nonsense motherboard

Pros: The first time in a long while I decided to go with a board that was not made by Asus. It installed like a charm and I had my new build up and running in under an hour.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: The board looks great and is fast. The BIOS is easy to navigate and O/Cing is a breeze.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I didn't read all the specs of this board when I bought it so I don't blame EVGA but to use SLI it is PCI-E slot 1 and 2. Even though slots 3 and 4 can support a full size card they are only x4 and SLI only reconizes x8 or x16. Putting two 780 6gb cards in SLI will result in the top card reaching up to 83c in less than 10 min on BF4. I ended up putting one 780 6gb in slot 1 then a 750ti 2gb in slot 3 for dedicated PhysX (I had the card laying around from a different build).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Great motherboard. Has error codes directly on the board so you can trouble shoot when hardware goes on. I am a big EVGA fan, and EVGA has not disappointed!

Cons: 10 screws to secure instead of the normal 9

5 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo

Pros: I really like the way the board looks. It is a quality board and you can't go wrong with this one.

Cons: I did have to RMA my first one because the heatsink by the CPU come to me broken off. Newegg shipped me a new right quick though.
