4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: easy to install work as intended
the sata port are place in a convenient way

overall it's look like it's a good card, except few thing that are not well place. those few thing aside, the card perform as intended. and I'm happy with it

Cons: wrong advertising on the official website,
only have 1 usb3 header and 1 usb2 header
pci express switch might be blocked by the graphic card.
you need to remove botom card (if you use sli) if you want to remove the graphioc card in the first slot because pci express release plastic tab is unreachable.
power cable on the card is like the sata, going at 90 degre, if you have a psu that is on the botom of your case, you will have to bend the cable to be able to plug it.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast on a Budget

Pros: This is a Great Board I wanted a 1150 socket quality board with not so many bells and whistles my theory is the more options the board has the more chance there is for incompatibility or failure .My Build was a complete fresh build and it was smooth took about 4 hours from start to finish no hiccups . EVGA quality really shines with this 1150 Z97 Board.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsQuality Company, Quality Products

Pros: Solid feature set for a board in the GOOD motherboard price range.
Well built: power availability, board layout, cooling, etc.

I have always had good support with EVGA on their products.

Cons: The one real con with this item and the reason I am giving it 4 stars is the m.2 slot for on motherboard SSD drives. For some reason EVGA decided to use the E KEY, this is not in any way a standard. I've looked and if you search around on forums many others have looked as well and there are no (??) manufactures making an E KEY m.2 slot drive.

Other Thoughts: This is a great product for the price and EVGA does stand behind their products. For most people this will be a great motherboard, just be aware of the caveat if you are looking to run the OS on motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsbeautiful board

Pros: color scheme: I've always loved the black and red by evga. The pics showed that the pcie slots are lighter red. but they arent.
2 way sli
usb 3.0
easy overclocker.

Cons: I read a lot about how the heat sink would come off and cause damage. and was worried. but my arrived pristine. so. none at all.

4 out of 5 eggsEVGA Z97 FTW...

Pros: I love this board, it lead to one of the easiest builds I have ever done, no issues what so ever. EVGA tech support is A+.

Cons: When I received my mobo it to was damaged The Massively heavy heat-sink had come unattached from the board and beat the tar out of the mobo. EVGA sent a new board and hooked me up with a Tee-shirt, which I'm still waiting for. The instructions for the Z87 board and those helped as the directions for the Z97. All EVGA had do to was use the same instructions as the Z87 and just up-date them.

Other Thoughts: Yea i would recommend this to anyone, EVGA listens to you and is very helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsThe underdog

Pros: I was impressed and surprised by this board. I first thought my overclocking abilities would be limited due to the features of this board. But evga still has my vote. It's not top of the line but in my opinion it does just as good. Get a good processor, memory and graphics card and you won't be disappointed.

My rig: i7 4790k @ 4.6, g.skill trident-8 gb 2400, 2 SLI gtx 670 watercooled, x-Fi fatality pro...

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: 6 phase pwm as opposed to 12 or 16 pwm

2 out of 5 eggsHeatsink loose

Pros: EVGA is a good company, the custumer service is great

Cons: I purchased 10 boards, 7 here and 3 in other site, up to now 100% percent of the received had the haeatsink loose due to a bad desing, the fixation methot is very bad and the heatsink it self is very heavy helping with the problema , now i´m waiting for the replacements.

4 out of 5 eggsMake sure its what u want

Pros: Very versatile. Handy LED indicator, works with current intel cpus

Cons: Watch out for the PCI lane in your case. It is pretty close, i had to so me rearranging to fit it in mine just right (antec df 85) with a corsair h80i. also, careful for the pci lanes (1 x16 1 x8 1 x4 2 x1)

3 out of 5 eggsHopeful

Pros: Supports 4 gpus, up to 32 gigs of ram, has a nice on board power switch, reset, and debugging, looks nice and is at a good price.

Works well with my gtx 780.

Everything is running on the board so far and i like the performance im getting but..... (read cons)

Cons: when i got everything put together and in the case, i tried powering up and got 4 beeps and a "55" in the debugging display. i read the manual and it said that a 55 meant there was no memory detected. I looked to my left and saw that i had been correct in installing the memory. (somethings fishy) I check to make sure its in ALL the way and it was. tried again. same beeps and numbers with no post. okay, no big deal, i put in ram from old build that i knew was good. same problem. (red flag). i the proceeded to check the ram slots in sequence. i had the same problem until i tested slots 3 and 4, witch worked fine.

that was problem number one.

i then went on to get into the bios and try to see if something was off, inactive, or if the board new it was malfunctioning. I was VERY disappointed. it wouldn't show me if slots were occupied or not. it just shows some dots on the screen with the number 8. WOW. I have a dell laptop from like 2010 that has a more detailed bios with more viewing options than this. Now i do realize that it is meant for overvolters and professional overclocking but this was just not a good experience

All this taken into account, I am waiting for EVGA to reply to my question of why the memory slot isn't working. If i don't have to RMA, then this would be a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Other Thoughts: My specs

Intel i7 4790k @ 4ghz (haven't oced yet)
EVGA 1300watt G2 PSU (really nice)
EVGA gtx 780 oc (also really nice)
8gb Gskill sniper ram @ 1600mhz. (working well)
WD 2TB Red HD running well despite reviews
Windows 7 home Prm.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy!

Pros: Z97 chipset! Supports the latest LGA 1150 CPUs out of the box. Native Intel SATA 3 and USB 3.0 controllers. BIOS is highly configurable and easy to use. EVGA Quality!

Intel i217 ethernet adapter. All the features that you would come to expect from an Intel network adapter are configurable from the driver property pages. Looks like there is native support for NIC Teaming (motherboard only has one NIC, you'd have to install a second one) and VLAN tagging although I haven't used either yet.

This current promotion can't be beat: just under $150 after rebate!

Cons: None yet noted.

Other Thoughts: This is my fourth EVGA motherboard over the last several years and they've all worked flawlessly. Mine shipped with 1.01 BIOS; as of this writing, EVGA has 1.04 available for download from their website. Easy update while the OS is running.

Also has a Marvell SATA 3 controller for two additional ports. I'm hanging my optical drives off of this one.

With overnight shipping, the box was in my home city within ten hours of ordering and at my door in less than 18. Thanks Newegg and FedEx!
