Pros: This is basically an embedded super computer. You can read all about this board online or watch several youtube videos. It basically is a GPU super computer for visual processing. This is essentially the most advanced embedded linux computer in the world for it's size and for what it does. The Tx-1 is the new (came out late 2015) updated version that's faster and all around more powerful than the older TK-1. If you are interested in robotic vision or simply the best robotic brain on the market this is definitely something to look into. For our robotics project we looked at Raspberry Pi, Beagleboard Black, Creator, UDroid, Hummingboard, etc all which are good boards and have a lot of following but this smokes them all in performance. Granted it's also a bit bigger. The only thing I would say that's remotely even in the vacinity might be the beagleboard X-15 which is about half as capable as this Jetson Tx-1. This is essentially the best (as of 2015/2016) robotics and computer vision platform on the market. Look no further for robotic drones, rovers, autonomous vehicles, etc. This is valhalla for roboticists and makers. There's enough embedded on the carrier board to have you expending in every direction you can think of. You can hook up literally anything and everything and it's also compatible with Adruinio and other shields/capes/expansion boards.

In the developer area they said there is a config to check the wifi because they did at one point have a batch of returns due to a wifi problem so check your wifi after purchase to make sure the wifi works perfectly. It worked on my perfect and was very fast. I was on youtube and facebook within the linux ubuntu os fairly quickly. Os is preflashed and all you have to do is run one simple command and it unpacks. From there you go and download the jetpack with the latest software and you are up and running.

Super cool, very easy to understand, tons of connectivity, I mean what didn't they put on this board?!? The only thing it's missing is a coffee cup holder. lol It also fits standard mini ITX footprint so you can choose any Mini ITX case to put this board into. All in all very happy with this purchase and I can't wait to have this board in the chest of my android rover.

Watch the videos of what people are doing with this board, it's truly incredible. Nothing like it on the planet. I give major props to Nvidia to push the robotics/makers market to the next level. It's pretty obvious the future of autonomous cars and robotics is going to be in the hands of a few companies, especially Nvidia.

Cons: Probably the only con I know of so far is that the user community is rather small because you're at such a high end level of robotics and computers. However there are extensive libraries and you can use ROS and other Os's on this board. But if you're looking for a forum of millions of users you might be better off with raspberry pi or beagleboard or something cheaper, more low tech and less capable. If you're looking for something challenging and cutting edge than this would be the board.

Other Thoughts: So excited to setup the computer vision and start 3d mapping my kitchen haha. Hey you gotta start somewhere.
