Features
The design is based around a Broadcom BCM2835 SoC, which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and 256 Megabytes of RAM. This revision A+ board features four mounting holes for easy installation, a built-in reset circuit, and can be powered via the USB data ports. The design does not include a built-in hard disk or solid-state drive, instead relying on an microSD card for booting and long-term storage. This board is intended to run Linux kernel based operating systems.

The Raspberry Pi uses Linux-kernel based operating systems. The Raspberry Pi does not come with a real-time clock, so an OS must use a network time server, or ask the user for time information at boot time to get access to time and date info for file time and date stamping. However a real time clock (such as the DS1307) with battery backup can be easily added via the I2C interface.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for hobbies

Pros: I use this to mess around with personal projects. So far it works great with no hardware problem .

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: what you're getting is a 256mb ram w/ only one usb, but I bought this on a special and I already have tons of usb hubs that works great with it.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked when it worked

Pros: Small, Cheap

Cons: Started locking up with just the desktop sitting there doing nothing without anything else running. I have a B and a B+ that work fine with same sd card.

Other Thoughts: I built a photo frame and thought this would be a perfect size for it. This A+ becomes unresponsive with just the Raspbian desktop sitting there for 10 minutes. CPU temp never exceeds 38°C. Same SD card works in my B+ all day long just fine.

5 out of 5 eggscool for a ghetto diy imac [all in one] project

Pros: smaller than a credit card [same size but an inch smaller width than credit card and r pi b+]
microsd
xbmc [kodi] is great
a million and one uses if your creative
easy to learn, hard to master!

Cons: not the b+ [but smaller]
256 ram
no ethernet

Other Thoughts: you can make a pretty good diy getto imac [all in one pc] by Velcroing this to the back of any tv or monitor and using openelec [xbmc/kodi] or other linux distro

pair it with a cheap micro keyboard n trackpad and you got your self a fun project
