Get big power from a small board with Zotac's mini-ITX form factor motherboard. This compact board is a great choice for building task specific computers that need to fit in a small space. The highly integrated nForce 630i MCP and GeForce 7100 GPU setup allow you to use a slim case and only add a CPU and memory to be up and running.
All of the components are integrated into the MCP for maximum system efficiency and minimum heat generation. With everything integrated you get minimal bottlenecks transferring data so the system will exceptionally fast.

Starting to like Zotac - Alot
- Pros: Modern - Support 45nm chips, although it is not specifically stated anywhere I can find. Good chipset, including decent video, DDR2800 support, and SATA II. It's about as tiny as you'd expect, but maybe more-so if you aren't familiar with ITX boards (this is my 4th).
Versatile - Huge variety of processors in the 775 family, and all should work in this board. Room for four drives, which I can't expect you'd need more in a case designed for a board this small. Has one PCIEx1 expansion slot... for? Will accept 4 gigs of ddr2, which is dirt cheap anymore, and should run any OS just fine on that. The onboard video chipset is nice if you use it as a mobile, "luggable" pc because it can be connected to 3 common formats (VGA, DVI, HDMI).
Price - About half the price of intel's similar itx offering, and certainly better in some ways. You may notice this thing sold out almost immediately, so expect the price to go up.
- Cons: Expandability - Only one PCIEx1 slot, which is very limited in functionality to begin with. That said, many TV tuners come in this format, as well as raid cards. Would like instead to see a single PCIEX16 (2.0)... but that's a pipe dream on a board this size, especially at this price.
Case limitations - ITX is really just starting to be accepted as a form factor, and there are very few decent ITX cases out there. That of course, is not the fault of this board, and in fact may be corrected by boards like this creating a wider market for the format.
- Other Thoughts: Really starting to like ZOTAC: between this and two video cards I purchased recently, which are both amazing in terms of quality and temperature management (not to mention price).
Dropped this in a modified ITX box which I managed to shove a 120mm intake and a 92mm exhaust fan into. Added a C2D e7200 and 4 gigs crucial ram to make a sweet little terabyte machine that I can carry around on my pinky (it has a handle). Idles around 25C and load doesn't break 35C on an Intel stock cooler (applied with MX-2 paste).
Ubuntu recognized everything on this board and installed all the drivers automatically, except of course the Nvidia ones... which aren't open source so you have accept their license. Everything however works like a charm, and even compiz-fusion runs perfectly at 1240-1024, and beyond I'm sure.
Only had it running for a day... and I'm already debating about putting at q9400 in it; just because I can. If anything should go horribly awry however, I will write an update.
This board's 630i chipset suffers from issues
- Pros: Small form factor, great price, one of the only mini itx boards I could find that had an nvidia GPU and support for socket 775. It comes with an DVI to HDMI adapter, and appearently it can do HDMI audio, although I have not tested this personally
- Cons: Unfortunetly with the board that I got (from newegg as a gift) is not the newest revision of the board, so it lacks the hardware support to suspend to RAM. Another big issue is that this board seams to suffer from is an issue with the Nvidia 630i chipset. Google for "630i freezes" to get an idea for yourself, but basically it is a problem with the chipset that affects many different motherboards that use it, not just this one. See "Other thoughts" for a fix
- Other Thoughts: The 630i chipset was causing my system to freeze at random times. The freeze would present without warning, and would cause the screen image to freeze in place, the only thing that could be done was a hard reboot. This happened on different operating systems, including Ubuntu 8.04.1 and several live CDs. Others have reported this chipset causing the system to freeze as a result of heavy network usage and data transfers often times those downloads would be corrupted.
THE FIX: It is widly reported, and tested and confirmed personally, that changing the memory timing from 800mhz to 677mhz will allow the system to function properly with out freezing.

Built in graphics not great.
- Pros: Motherboard is stable BIOS even has some overclocking options. Works with C2D 2200.
- Cons: I got this for a HTPC because reviews said it decodes blueray smoothly. It decodes it OK but there is still some jerkiness. Also with Netflix streaming there is some jerkiness. The built in nvidia 7100 just isn't enough for what I need it to do. It only has a pciex1 slot so I can't even put a graphics card in it.
- Other Thoughts: I'm sure this mobo is great for certain situations just not sure what those might be if it isn't an htpc. If you just wanted a small form factor why buy a mobo with a supposedly good graphics chip?
Dual onboard video?!?!?
- Pros: I am totally loving the mini-itx builds. I think that I own just about one of each of Zotac's boards (k, not the ion), and I am still surprised by the feature rich/ good quality/ price/ pick your positive adjective because probability applies.
- Cons: none; doesn't comb your hair.
- Other Thoughts: Jam good; Meat good....
Great little board
- Pros: It's tiny, runs cool, has good onboard video (for its size)
- Cons: Only 2 Sata (knew before purchasing) and only holds 4 GB of ram (also knew beforehand).
- Other Thoughts: It's a great board, serves it's purpose. I really like Zotac, they also have great support.
I regret matching this with a slower CPU, I know it can handle more, I'm planning on going to a dual core/ Zotac 9300 combo next for a HTGamingPC.
