2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap. Easy initial setup.

Cons: AMD C&Q was not available without BIOS flash. Overheats too easily, even with normal non-gaming use.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this board with a few other items to replacing an aging Dell. The board served well during the first year, but it seems to be overheating a little too often now. Probably will not purchase another Zotac product.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: Great while it worked.

Cons: Lasted 9 months. Just one day, I attempted to power on my computer, the power LED will come on for about 3-4 seconds and will just turn off completely. Tried multiple times and it just does the same thing. All components for my computer was new at time of build. So I just purchased a new FoxConn mobo and used the same components and my computer booted right up. Sending a request to RMA through Zotac, and will just sell it to recoup some costs for the new mobo. My first and probably last Zotac product.

1 out of 5 eggsworked ok for about 3 weeks

Pros: It's cheap

Cons: After about 3 weeks, this board would post 1 out of every 7-8 times, as time went by, it got worse. on-board video is a joke, constantly glitching with even the most low end games (NFSU2, KOTOR2, Sims 2) I installed an old GeForce 128mb card which fixed this, but one would think the 8100 chipset should be better. probably just a bad board, but I have stepped up to asus. I will not buy zotac again.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsZotac GF8100-A-E

Pros: Low price.

Cons: 1st board booted once then didn't. 2nd board did not boot at all. I don't want to take a chance on a 3rd one not working, so I'm buying a different brand.

Other Thoughts: Against my better judgment I bought this. You get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsgood price, and board

Pros: small, cheap, onboard everything, works on first boot

Cons: none for this price, and it works as advertised

Other Thoughts: Beware Zotac rebates! There were none on this mobo when I bought it, but I struggled to get two rebates from them in the past.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: It was the cheapest board at the time i puchaced (including shipping since it was free). It works fine with my athlon 64 5200.

Cons: I do not like the nvidia chipsets to much. I got this because of the price and can't knock an egg since I chose to get this.

Other Thoughts: Good for a desktop or HTPC (if you get a real video card). If i needed another dirt cheap motherboard I would buy it again

4 out of 5 eggsAfter 1 month review

Pros: cheap, integrated nvidia 8100 supports h263 and h264 video accelerated decoding. Windows 7 supports the high def audio on install. supports all 90watt cpus and under. accepted my cheap ram. no issue with my 2g per stick crucial ram. supports basic overclocking buy memory speed control only. no bus ratios possible, no cpu multiplier adjustment possible. board doe not support most software overclock tools. i have not tried clock gen yet though..

Cons: 2 memory slots, not really a con since 2x2gig ram sets are cheap.

power management circuit is a bit wussy. after overclocking the board will hard reset once the pwm's get hot which surprises me since its a 8-phase cpu circuit. but this is to be expected if you overclock a 90watt cpu. with 65watt cpus overclocking is alot easier. hence my reccomendation of a new shiny Athlon II 250. that should overclock stably with good aftermarket cooling.

fan control is abysmal. you make the setting. it keeps chugging at full speed. be prepared to replace your fan with a fanmate controler and or a molex controler.

1 pata. ok sata is the way to go... but if your upgrading on the uber cheap then be prepared to only have 2 pata connections possible

usb issues. i am not sure of its my ocz-16g twin channel stick... but it will *not* work with the board. it will read but not write. i had a spare usb 2.0+firewire 800 card laying around so no loss to me. but somethings off there i thi

Other Thoughts: there are some cons, but they are likely out weighed by the cheap cost. if you are buying for basic office use this is not a bad buy at all. just be aware there are a few things that might stump you slightly.

2 out of 5 eggsnot as advertised update

Pros: As noted in previous review

Cons: Rebate still hasn't show up. It's been a looooong time now.

Other Thoughts: Knocked it down from 3 eggs to 2 because of this rebate problem. As other posters have suggested, Newegg should offer the rebates up front. Newegg is in a position to bring pressure on these manufacturers who don't honor their advertised rebates or who are slow to get them out.
Last Zotac mobo for me. I have used them prior to this particular board but no longer. May have to spend a little more but won't have the hassle.

5 out of 5 eggsZotac AM2 GeForce 8100

Pros: Very easy to install on a Full Tower. A lot of open space for more ventilation. Easy to install the CPU and memory.
The Geforce 8100 plays the Steam games very well although i could not test other games but it performed rock solid on Counter-Strike. I also like the PCi Express slot just incase you want to buy a higher end video card later on.

Cons: The only con is the two memory slot dimms. If it had 4 dimms it would be perfect.

4 out of 5 eggsLow End Gaming Rig

Pros: Easily setup Bios. All drivers installed ok in Win XP. Dual core chip installed very easily with AMD's updated drivers. Works well with BFG's 512mb 9400 Nvidia card.

Cons: Rebate Has not shown up yet its been 14 weeks like they stated in their form.
