Pros: This is ideal for a small, quiet XMBC box with full support for 1080p MKV's from Blu-Rays. Full VDPAU support in Linux using the latest restricted drivers makes for smooth video over HDMI. SPDIF over optical digital out works great as well. Haven't found a thing it couldn't play.
Cons: Could not get audio over HDMI to work in XBMC in Linux, have not tried Windows. Also I regret not buying the same board with the external power supply, then this thing would be near silent. I just didn't want to toss the power supply that came with my case, but it is definitely the loudest part of this system.
Other Thoughts: Word of caution, XBMC does not support hardware acceleration for Windows (few programs in Windows do), hence video will be choppy as the full potential of the ION platform will not be used. Linux, however, enabling VDPAU in XBMC works beautifully and CPU usage is <20% playing 1080p MKV's. If you set it up right, you don't need the Atom dual core version.

Sweet HD MythTV kit

Pros: Silent HDMI out h264 1080p glitch-free Uses very little electricity (for you greeners, or people like me who just hate wasting money) Super-Awesome
Cons: Had to grab backported stuff from MythTV .22 and latest Nvidia drivers for my Mythbuntu 9.04 setup, but .22 should be shipping with Mythbuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala), so that won't be an issue for anyone getting this after October 2009.
The lack of any sort of noise kinda creeps me out, so I have to tap my shoes on the floor when I feel like a Hard Drive should be spinning or something, and when the HD video starts I say "wwoooooOOOOO!" because that's what my old HTPC did...
Other Thoughts: I put this in a little Apex case (APEX MI-008 Black Steel Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case 250W Power Supply - Retail) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811154091). I PXE boot, so the only thing I added was RAM and a remote control. During boot, the rig draws 27W. While playing 1080p video, 26W. While playing 720p or lower, 25W. Idles at 25W. Draws 3W while powered off. So, if you bought a nicer power supply, it'd probably draw less while idle, but 25W is nothing to shake your fist at.

great board

Pros: great little board.
I used it to build a mythtv frontend in a JETWAY JC-300-B case. runs well, with VDPAU it plays back (almost [*]) everything I've thrown at it: broadcast hdtv 720p and 1080i, dvd 480p, and xvid video in various resolutions up to 720p. even while deinterlacing and decoding 1080i, the atom processor doesn't really work up a sweat, almost everything is handled by the nvidia chip.
Cons: none that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: [*] the only thing it couldn't play back was a 720p ogg theora file, but I honestly never expected that to work.

Pros: Nice little Mini ITX board. I picked it up just to try out since it was on sale. The onboard graphics are superb. The CPU is okay considering what it was designed for. The BIOS is wonderful and setup is easy.
Cons: Maybe that it is a single core but knowing what it was designed for not really a con.
Other Thoughts: I was leary of no fan on the chipset but I must say even in the tiny case that I installed this in the temps remain within safe limits according to nvidia. I am using this as a console emulator box and it is perfect. I was pleasently surprised that even with the underpowered CPU I am able to run some of my favorite racing games like the early ones Need For Speed series(Underground runs great) quite well. I did the old 3DMark2001se benchmark and scored 6314 under default settings. This score was attained with the modest cpu overclock I did to 1.9 odd Ghz. The power consumption on this baby is amazingly low, I'm running it with a 60w pico power supply quite comfortably. If this was a normal purchase I would have picked up the dual core model but the price for this one was right. Plays 1080P video falwlessly, CPU stays below 20%.

Pros: Great little mobo, using with Mythdora 10.21 upgraded to mythtv .22. Using VDPAU allows for streming HD, both OTA and recorded content (Backend is a Zotac F-E).
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: It would be nice if the RTC battery layed flat on the mobo, it causes interferance with the COOLER MASTER Elite 100 RC-100-KKP3-GP Black Steel / Plastic MITX/MATX Slim Case Computer Case Flex ATX 150W, Active PFC power supply.
I was unable to use this mobo with that case based on how the power supply overlaps the mobo by about 1/2 inch and the RTC battery sticking up, had it been laying flat or located elsewhere, it would be a great case/mobo combo.

Pros: Great motherboard, setup with latest nvidia BETA drivers and flash 10.1 beta for good youtube and hulu playback. Runs nicely on Windows server 2002 R2 with aero desktop enhancements :)
Cons: none right now. A bit slow but was expecting it. Runs a bit hot.
