1 out of 5 eggsZotac is bad news

Pros: None

Cons: I ended up having to swap the board 3 times with the retailer before finally getting one that works. 2 months later the board dies.

So I went through Zotac and did an RMA. When I received my replacement board it lasted all of 3 hours. Just enough time to install the OS and once again the board died.

I contacted Zotac again which they told me that I must have done something to clause the board to die and refused to replace the DOA board.

In the end I’ll never buy another product of theirs again
Poor quality Product.
very poor customer support from zotac.

5 out of 5 eggsWireless Adapter Fix!

Pros: Excellent Little board with only one major hick-up

Cons: The Wireless adapter! I know i am not the first one commenting about this but i found a fix that seems to be doing well for me.

Other Thoughts: So to those that have had the wireless issues (I have a 64bit Windows 7 PC that goes out way to often) a Fix i just found is getting the driver for Windows XP 64bit. Thought this would help out a lot of people. Good Luck!

2 out of 5 eggsSo-so Quality

Pros: -Small
-Great video performance
-Audio over HDMI

Cons: -Short lifespan
-WiFi is useless

Other Thoughts: I bought this board on 5/27/2010. It died on 06/20/2011.

Video performance was great when it was working.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Deviation,

I'm sorry to hear about your motherboard. If you had registered your product with us, your product may still be covered under its ZOTAC warranty. Please review the accompanying link. Thank you.

Pros: See previous reviews

Cons: See previous reviews

Other Thoughts: This review regards ZOTAC RMA process. On August 3rd or 4th I returned the motherboard. On August 15th I received an e-mail from ZOTAC advising me that my RMA had been received and that I would be notified 30 days from this date (Aug. 15) as to the disposition (Bummer, now I have to wait until mid Sept. to start my new build). On August 16th I received an e-mail from UPS advising me that I would be receiving a package from ZOTAC (What package?). On August 17th my replacement was delivered (Huh?).

Thank you ZOTAC for your prompt response. Besides, I've always liked pleasent suprises. Job well done.

1 out of 5 eggsZOTAC REVISITED

Pros: Read previous review.

Cons: Lifespan. (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: While I read them, I seldom pay heed to negative reviews because they generally involve packaging, rebates, service request, etc. However, I see that I made an error this time. For 5 months (almost to the day), the motherboard performed well, until it died. Pratically ALL the woes mentioned by previous reviewers struck me in one day. I shut down the computer on Sunday and on Monday I have an unresponsive brick. ZOTAC has approved the RMA request. I will be returning the board today.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Raynnay,
I am sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced. If you have additional questions on your RMA, you can submit a support ticket to the RMA department through the accompanying link.

2 out of 5 eggsHeating issues

Pros: This board was perfect for HTPC having nvida chipset on-board.

Cons: IGP heatsink is not enough to cool the chipset. Boards overheats to the point that it shutsdown. Works fine if I remove the cover of the case. Once put the temperature gets too high and system shuts down and reboots. Returning it back.

Other Thoughts: Zotac should have put a bigger heatsink for this chipset

3 out of 5 eggsDecent motherboard, no longevity

Pros: Great motherboard for a reasonable price

Cons: -Wifi is unreliable and finky to the point of being unusable
-Motherboard broke for me

Other Thoughts: System no longer POSTs or even sends a signal of any kind to my monitor. CD drive still opens, lights come on but it doesn't send a signal to my TV anymore so it seems unlikely that it is the PSU, plus the PSU is a Seagate so I doubt it is that.

No video was an off and on problem for the entirety of my ownership of this product, built quality isn't the best. I bought the product in December of 2009 maybe they have improved the build quality, but I would look some where else for a more reliable motherboard as the RMA process is always annoying if you get a lemon.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little power house!

Pros: Bought this board for a Car PC project. Never took it out the box till the multi-zone aspect of my install needed a new board. I put my E8200 in, 4GB Ram, and 4 DisplayLink USB to VGA adapters. The MoBo before this one (Zotac 610i) couldnt handle all the graphic and processor loads. This board though does all of it with plenty of room to spare. The USB ports are able to power all four display and 5 additional USB soundcards. On my old board everything had to be on externally powered USB hubs.

I also have to say its native onboard graphics card is amazing!

In total I am using 6 screens and six soundcards with not even the slightest of slow down.

Next week I plan on buying a second one for the other half of my Car PC install. That one will have a Quad core and up to 31 USB devices. I hope it works as well as with the other install.

Cons: Only one, the DVI port is a DVI-D port. In order to use it on my Car PC setup, which uses analog screens, I had to buy a DVI-D to VGA converter. The specific one I bought is the HDFury, which runs $54.00. Still worth it though! If your using this on a newer digital LCD/LED TV then you dont have to worry becasue those are digital.

Other Thoughts: For a small little board, this thing gets the gob done. In a Car PC setup, space is very very crucial. I was happy to find this board which is equal if not better then most normal sized Micro-ATX boards.

4 out of 5 eggsCONFIGURE THIS

Pros: Features - Size
Coaxial/Optical S/PDIF
Gigabit Ethernet
VGA Port
USBs Galore

Everything a mobo needs to create a good HTPC

Cons: Outdated Users Manual. Proported to be "Windows 7 Premium ready" there is no reference to Windows 7 in the included documentation.

Other Thoughts: While I consider the lack of current documentation (Windows 7 reference) a Con worth an egg reduction, I have to wonder if that's fair. Afterall, once the build was completed and the OS (W7) was installed, the computer worked. Ergo, Windows 7 ready. Four eggs, 5 eggs, you be the judge.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless Board - Worthless Warranty

Pros: Impressive performance for a small package.

Cons: No longevity whatsoever. Zotac will not honor there warranty.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board for a media center PC. No OC, no modifications. Standard BIOS settings. Intel Core2 Duo E8400. 4GB GSkill RAM.

The board lasted about nine months and then would no longer post. Sent it back to Zotac, they say nothing is wrong with the board. However, it does not matter what RAM or processor I use the board will no longer POST.

After 2 months of doing the runaround with Zotac I'm fed up.

Zotac does not stand behind their products. Just look at the Zotac forums before you buy. They're full of unhappy people who cannot get their warranty honored by Zotac.

Never again Zotac!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Rick,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with our motherboard. I would be happy to look into your case. If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact me at
