4 out of 5 eggsGreat budget home server

Pros: Reasonable cost. Small form factor. Ability to run fan-less (other than case fan). ION displays on my 42" LCD no issues. Plays Blu-Rays great. Pretty good support of Windows Home Server, just used the Win 7 drivers for most things. Love that you don't need an external PSU. Haven't run it through any official benchmarks, but seems plenty speedy.

Cons: Doesn't have internal USB 3.0 headers. Would like more SATA ports, but on a board this small I'm not complaining too loudly (if only more reliable add-on cards were available). The included installation DVD completely didn't work in WHS; I ended up downloading all the drivers separately (I usually do that anyway). Occasionally when I shut down, the power LED on the case will remain lit even though the system is off, not sure if the Mobo or case is responsible for this.

Other Thoughts: Using it as a home server (WHS 2011) / media streamer. There are some documented issues with WHS and Realtek LAN chipsets which prevent you from backing up your computers to your WHS box; still haven't found a workaround. I hold MS more responsible for this than Zotac, but just in case you're thinking about this setup.
Build:
- 4Gig of Corsair CMSO4GX3M2A1333C9
- Cooler Master RC-120A-KKN1
- 1 TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 (boot / primary)
- 2 TB WD Caviar Green (in external enclosure, backup)
- LG Blu-Ray drive
- Windows Home Server 2001 SP1
- Logitech K400 for input

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing, Just buy it, or buy 2.

Pros: - Must have been designed and build for XBMC, Plex Server, and central file sharing.
- 100% silent, no fan, no noise
- Drivers available for Ubuntu 12.04 desktop audio + video
- Ubuntu recognizes 4 cores at 1.8ghz ( hyper-threading )

Cons: - Had trouble loading video / audio drivers for Ubuntu 12.04 server, couldn't get audio to work (but this may be a Ubuntu issue)

- Only 2 SATA ports, but power connector for 3. Possibly this was meant for a PCIe card that takes aux power? I wish it had 4.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this motherboard to be the start of my HTPC, and I'm floored by how well it plays giant kmv files, even while streaming to the ROKU in another room.

The CPU has yet to climb above 80ºC and it's currently running without a fan, that's heavy load in ambient (21ºC) temps! I do plan on adding a fan this week. these numbers came from an urge to see how hot it would get without one.

Load it up with ram, max of 4GB for 20$ ? DO IT

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Built-in PSU, Wi-Fi Ready with N, USB 3.0, ITX Form Factor, and was surprised by this, it has on board LED for HDD and Power!!

Cons: Power in port is way too close to the Wi-Fi Antennas.. but can be moved!

Other Thoughts: I am using this little motherboard for a custom case. The case is actually an old Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and was the perfect size! Plus... it has the built in PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price for what it is.

Pros: I am overall very happy with this purchase. I got it for a custom HTPC (in an NES case) and it does great for that.

Cons: Passive heatsink let things get way too hot before I decided to add a fan.

I am not used to laptop DIMMs and it took me a second to realize I need to insert a very steep angle then push it down. But that is just me being a noob lol.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this Motherboard. I was expecting some cooling issues so purchased a 40mm fan with it, lowered the temps by 25C. The temps are also not completely the fault of the motherboard, I do have it in a very cramped space.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Little Board

Pros: Fantastic Little Board. Runs cool, plays blurays effortlessly, and is all around quite stable. Has usb 3.0, dc power supply, a passive heatsink, and ddr3 laptop memory slots. The nvidia ion graphics handled 1080P output to a 55 inch big screen fantastically. Dolby digital surround sound too!

Cons: Overclocking an atom cpu is just absolutely absurd from my point of view. The motherboard has overclocking features anyway! I gave it a little 50 mhz boost just to see what would happen and the board immediately freaked and didn't want to post. I won't be trying to overclock it for a while.

Other Thoughts: The first thing I did when I received it was pop off the passive heat sink and replace the globs of thermal grease with a thin layer of arctic silver. This fixed any and all thermal problems that I would have encountered. Under full cpu and graphics load I couldn't get the temps above 65 degrees Celsius. The cpu idles around 23 degrees Celsius and the gpu around 40 degrees Celsius.

Also, when installing the drivers, I'm one of those guys that throws the driver cd in the garbage and goes and gets the latest drivers from the motherboard website. Well, the USB 3.0 drivers are not on Zotac's website and are only on the included CD. Just as an FYI.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: The is a great board its a snappy atom and definitly gets the job done. I used this board for my project to put this into a N64 and make an emulator arcade and it has been perfect for those needs.

Cons: A little pricey but worth it

Other Thoughts: I would buy this again and have recommended it to friends for projects like this.

5 out of 5 eggsFull featured & cool

Pros: This board is serving MythTV combined backend/frontend. Dual-core hyperthreaded CPU w/ next-gen ION(2) system in Mini-ITX form factor. Overall exceptionally pleased, very featurefull. I can tweak anything from Northbridge to voltages and overclocking (haven't overclocked it). idles at 50C, hottest is around 75C, 100C max thermal junction. extremely happy with purchase, chose this over Zotac ZBOX for cooling and case issues, and ASUS AT5IONT-I (#N82E16813131663) because of the PWM CPU cooler. Used ISK300-150 (#N82E16811129080), replaced the stock 80mm fan with Cooler Master (#N82E16835103071) cooler. It is not noticeable while watching TV.

Cons: 2x SATA ports with 3x SATA power plugs are confusing me.
Case design or IO shield issues forced me to remove the retainer ring on outside of motherboard for power input. Wouldn't secure to case otherwise. I am confident it is IO shield design.
I did not use the included wifi, may retask that wifi into another PC.

Other Thoughts: MythTV specific drivers for audio/video are the trickiest of setup, after setting HDMI as output, the audio output is not the default, but the HDMI/NVidia/dev=1

4 out of 5 eggsHot Hot Hot

Pros: Great little all-in-one unit. Lots of functionality. Easy to install.

Cons: The passive heatsink on this unit lead me to believe there would not be much in the way of heat generated. I can tell you, without any case this mobo runs at 57C-70C depending on load. Put this in a mini-itx case such as the popular M350 and the heat skyrocketed over 100C (!!!) before I powered down. You MUST use a fan if you plan to put this in a case, which I assume most of you will - kind of negating the passive heat sink on the CPU - the motherboard itself may be silent - but your build won't...

Other Thoughts: The T-Junction MAX on this CPU is 100C and the BIOS did not automatically power down the PC when this core temp was reached. If I hadn't been running RealTemp I would not have known how hot it was without touching it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Solid Board!

Pros: Small, fast for what it is, and everything worked right out of the box. I used this board for my console HTPC project and it has worked flawlessly. With the dual core atom and 4 gigs of DDR3 ram it will handle almost anything you throw at it. Very impressed.

Cons: Nothing really, I wish the heat sink was a little smaller for my particular application but I am not exactly using this for its original intention.
