2 out of 5 eggsBIOS needs work

Pros: This thing is packed to the RIM. Both integrated Intel graphics and GT430 on board. You can display on 4 monitors at the same time. I don't know of any other board that can do that.

This has 4 SATA ports and an mSATA port. I've connected a mSATA drive as the boot drive and it starts REDICULOUSLY fast once past the POST (see cons).

The miniPCIe slot that holds the WiFi card is not whitelisted to WiFi cards only. I was able to install a miniPCIe HDTV tuner in the slot and it worked properly. The PCIe x4 was a nice touch to create better expandibility. This is a board packed with nearly everything with lots of room for more.

Cons: I'm sure you ask why I only give 2 eggs if its so great? It's because Zotac has some things that are major oversights.

There is no USB standby voltage. This mean no power to USB devices when the machine is off - no power on by keyboard. This means in an HTPC application you have to power on with the button and cannot do so by remote control. Minus one egg.

This is the big one.... The board will stop responding entirely during POST 9 out of 10 times if you have a USB card reader attached. POST takes 5 seconds without a card reader attached. The only work around I could find was to set a "USB device power-up delay" in the BIOS. I set mine to 5 seconds, which seems to make the POST take about 30 seconds, but now it only stops responding 1 out of 10 times. I have two of these boards and I've tried 3 different brands of card readers and all combinations produce the same result if a card reader is attached. Minus 2 eggs for this.

Other Thoughts: I've tried contacting to Zotac so they can fix the issue with a BIOS update, but they have no interest fixing the issue. They only want to RMA. I've RMAed with Zotac before and it takes months (not a typo). Seeing that I have two boards with same issue, it clearly is a BIOS problem that needs to be resolved, not a board replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board for HTPC and Gaming

Pros: Small and powerful form factor. Video card is great.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have this paired with a 2600k i7 and 8gb Memory. I was confused at first of why the Nvidia video card didn't work until i had read that you need to use the Mini-Displayport instead of the HDMI/DVI. Purchased a Display port cable off of another site and off I went. Huge difference in gaming. Works very well.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly, except for the feature I bought it for :(

Pros: Its the only socket 1155 motherboard with integrated nVidia graphics that NewEgg sells.

Cons: nVidia graphics don't actually work.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board to replace my aging HTPC with something a little more modern. I selected the board for the small form factor and added bonus of integrated GT430 graphics. Windows 7 detected the GT430, but after installing the drivers and rebooting, I was greeted by a completely black screen. Now, the only way to get video on the machine is to use the i3's GPU.

No information about the issue on Zotac's website. All other information online is either people asking if anyone else would buy one due to the high price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for my lady's build

Pros: Small and fit into an InWin Diva case fine, with an i3-2100 (stock fan), and full-size DVD burner.

CPU Socket.

Can handle games like Skyrim great.

Cons: Uses laptop memory.

Not really a huge con, but something to look out for.

Other Thoughts: This is part of a build I made for Christmas. She's been enjoying Skyrim on it ever since.

It'll handle any decent game she cares to throw at it, but she's mostly just been playing Skyrim. Might have trouble with certain Crytek FPS games that are bloated with tessellation.

I just hope I can continue to find upgrades that fit into that tiny case in the future. My guess is, I will.

1 out of 5 eggsOut with a wimper

Pros: Nice board while it worked

Cons: Had windows 7 loaded and was downloading some other files then the screen went blank and the board simply shut down. Nothing I tried could get it to start back up. I cleared the CMOS, unplugged and let it set. Reseated the memory which had been working fine. I also disconnected all cables and reconnected them. Nothing worked. I had high hopes for this board as a friend had given it high praise. I will RMA if possible.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi CCinB,

Were you able to RMA your product? If not, send me an email at juliette@zotacusa.com with your full name and description of the problem you encountered and I'll see if I can help you.

Thanks,
Juliette

Pros: Great small mobo with lots of features, on board wireless makes it very easy to use from the get go.

Cons: It was missing one of the antennas when it came. Otherwise probably 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: lots of features
tiny footprint

Cons: the number of features on this board require at least 140 watts to get everything going.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board to use in a small form factor desktop. The idea being to get it into a space roughly the size of a mac mini. I used the Habey EMC-600S
there are two pieces of a project like this that are important to take into account before hand heat and power. Taking heat into consideration the best CPU you can really put in this case is a 65W i5 with a low profile cpu fan.
I really failed in the power consideration part I didnt do the math. to get an (i5) +(1gb nvidia) +(ram, ssd, usb, wifi) all running at once on this board you need alot of power, the low profile case I purchased came with only a 90 watt, I experienced constant reboot attempts anytime the video card would kick in.

I was able to get the system fully working by adding a 200 watt pico supply but this wasn't ideal and required drilling a hole in the otherwise beautiful case I had purchased.

Now that everything is working I couldn't be happier with this board it is exactly what I was looking for.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: Feature set is impressive for such a tiny board.

Cons: Integrated GT430 graphics never worked.

Other Thoughts: This board promises a lot but fails to deliver. I loved the idea of having the integrated graphics and a PCIe slot. I couldn't get the graphics to work at all. I tried contacting Zotac to find out if ther was a jumper or BIOS setting I was missing, but after 2 weeks still had no response. Zotac's forums list other users with the same problem. I finally decided to return the defective board.

On another note, it's very dishonest the Newegg would charge a 15% "restocking fee" for a defective board that they know full well is not being "restocked" or resold as "open-box".

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ddk,
I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. Most likely you had received a defective motherboard; you would be entitled to an RMA. You can review all the services available to you in the accompanying link. Once again, I'm sorry that you experienced a technical issue with one of our motherboards.

5 out of 5 eggsnice little ITX

Pros: the processor installed easily along with the RAM, i didnt use the stock intel heat sink fan i used a Thermaltake Slim X-3 CLP0534. the fan installed very nicely then mounted in the case smoothly. the built in graphics can game well on a 42'' tv

good bord, i would sugest it if your willing to spend the money.

Cons: WARNING! a wide heatsink will not fit on the board, it will interfear with the chipset heatsink or the RAM, i would sigest the one i used, it is a close fit but it works better then the stock heatsink.

other then that its just the price but i think it was worth it.

Other Thoughts: not too many... the bord is epic though
