5 out of 5 eggsLeave it to ASUS!!!!

Pros: Front USB 3.0, Easy Install, Good Price

Cons: None I can think of!!!

Other Thoughts: The cable is a bit stiff, but it's not too bad.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, stiff cable, pricey

Pros: It's basically an extender cable and a box- nothing hi-tech.
Tight fit in my older FoxConn box, not ASUS's fault. Once installed, I plugged it into the ASUS F1-A75M board, powered up, and it worked fine.
The jacks seem quite solid- hopefully they will stand up to many plug/unplug cycles.

Cons: The connector on the ASUS F1-A75M board is vertical, so that wasn't a problem.
I agree with other reviewers that the cable is overly stiff and I had to do some serious pre-bending to avoid straining the board connector pins. I've had other USB2 jack headers with dual (thinner) cables and they were easier to manage.
It's a bit expensive for what it is - an empty box with a couple of jacks and a cable and plug, but there aren't many alternatives.

Other Thoughts: I'd probably buy one again (assuming they come back into stock) for a future build. Of course, by then all the cases may have USB3 jacks included?

3 out of 5 eggsworks great, but a pain to install

Pros: It works great, and provides USB 3.0 on the front panel (in a floppy slot). Couldn't be better that way.

Cons: You'd think just plug it in and off we go.... But the cable connector is about an inch long, and the clearance at edge of motherboard to install it is somewhat less (plus it plugs in about 1/4 inch too). Asus puts the connector on the edge of the motherboard, facing out, and there simply is insufficient room there. Motherboard connector should have faced upward, to be able to plug it in. That would make it be trivial. Cable could have been a couple inches longer too - it reaches, but it does not help trying to get a straight in shot at plugging it in.

I wrestled and wrestled with it, and bent the fragile pins on the mother board. Finally, I removed the motherboard to be able to plug it in, but even then, getting the motherboard back in with the connector interfering was some issue. There is insufficient clearance to face the connectors outward, should point up.
(Antec Sonata case).

This USB adapter is great, an easy 5 * rating, but the motherboard connector should face up, and I down rate Asus for that, 3 *, for the motherboard and my aggravation.

I wrestle with the SATA connectors too, same thing, they should face upward. The right angle connectors are useless, can only use one, and they angle wrong way anyway. <grumble> But the Asus motherboards do really work well.

The motherboard and I survived it, and the USB connections work great, but would not buy it again, if I knew.

4 out of 5 eggsFINALLY!

Pros: Leave it to ASUS to get it right! It's so hard to find an internal USB 3.0 add-on that uses the MOBO 3.0 header instead of using one of the rear USB 3.0 ports.

This is going in my Wishlist until payday.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: For those wishing it had more than two 3.0 ports on it, The headers on the MOBO (USB 2.0 or 3.0) only support two ports each, and MOBO that supports USB 3.0 usually only have one 3.0 header to plug into. My ASUS Sabertooth has two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 headers.

After buying this I'll be on USB overkill with 14 USB 2.0s and 4 USB 3.0s. (10 on back I/O panel, 6 in front) :D

5 out of 5 eggsGreat USB 3.0 Box

Pros: - Gives us two USB 3.0 ports
- Speeds are good

Cons: - Cable could be an inch or two longer.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my Coolermaster 690II advanced case, which doesn't have USB 3.0 natively. However, I have the Asus P8Z68-V Pro Motherboard and this box is on the compatibilty list due to the fact that it come with the Deluxe version of my board.
Now I won't need to upgrade my case to have USB 3.0 on the front of my case. A must have for people with older cases.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good looking finish. Fits snugly in my 3.5" bay.

Cons: Price is a bit steep at $10/port. Also, the cable is a little long for my needs, and it's fairly inflexible, making its connection to the motherboard a bit of a challenge. Lastly, the USB ports are not perfectly aligned with the cut-outs in the enclosure.

Other Thoughts: There weren't a whole lot of options for USB3 that have only the pin header and not some adapter to USB-style ports in between. Hopefully more will appear in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks exactly as you'd want it to.

Pros: It is easy to install and gives me two extra USB 3.0 ports on the front of my case. Very happy with how solid the product is, especially considering the cheap price.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a 3.5" adapter bracket that you can use!
