1 out of 5 eggsWrong connector for Asus Maximus VIII Hero

Pros: It's a TPM chip

Cons: The connector does not match my Asus motherboard

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this due to the wrong connector. Why Asus just doesn't include it with the Asus Maximus VIII Hero is beyond me.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks with Win Server 2012 R2

Pros: Works with Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit. Must be enabled in the BIOS to function. Motherboard: ASUS M5a99FX Pro R2. Windows 2012 R2 server includes administration tools to manage it. Recommended for secure, server installations.

Cons: Included software is obsolete and incompatible with Windows 2012 R2. 64-bit.

Other Thoughts: Module is recognized by the BIOS. When enabled in The BIOS, Windows 2012 R2 server can manage it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as documented.

Pros: Worked well in my ASUS Z97 Gaming 5.

Cons: I really think that ASUS should just include them on the boards instead of selling add-ons but I am not going to dock an egg for that as this product works great.

Other Thoughts: Each Mobo manufacturer makes a TPM specifically for their boards so don't buy if you don't have an ASUS Mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works on my asus maximus hero vii motherboard
Easy installation
Reasonable price
Once installed you won't even know it's there

Cons: Could be smaller overall
Could come with some instructions

Other Thoughts: Works perfectly with windows bit locker encryption, just enable trusted computing and the platform module in your bios, go into windows, initialize the device, and turn on bit locker for your operating system drive.

No drivers or additional software required.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor execution

Pros: Probably works for someone out there

Cons: Unfortunately the chip won't fit into a standard TPM port. If you look carefully in the photo, you can see that the connector is on top of the PC board. This makes it impossible to fit into the slot on my motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsTPM

Pros: None

Cons: Will not work with Windows 7 Ultimate 64. will not let me install software, returned for a different one, call tech support @ ausu. what a waste of time as their pros knew very little about this or that it existed at all. Z97 Deluxe

Other Thoughts: don't buy it if you're using Windows 7

5 out of 5 eggsEncrypted all my hard drives

Pros: Used Bitlocker on Win 8.1 with this TPM on my Asus X-99 MB to encrypt all internal and external HD, even USB flash drives can be encrypted. Didn't need to use the included CD, I just enabled the TPM in the bios after plugging it into the MB and windows recognised and installed driver. Turned on Bitlocker on each drive and that was it.

Cons: The TPM unit costs about twice as much as it should, and should really have been included in the MB considering the MB cost. I suspect the government doesn't want encryption built into MBs just like they didn't want Apple to turn on encryption by default on all new Macs.

5 out of 5 eggsNo fuss

Pros: Works as advertised. Takes about 20 seconds to install (including opening the case!), and was immediately detected in the BIOS to turn it on there. The driver disk isn't needed in Windows 8.1, the inbox driver works perfectly. No troubles enabling Bitlocker.

Cons: Having to buy a separate chip for an expensive motherboard feels like penny pinching. The driver CD could have been omitted since it's just more trash ending up in a landfill somewhere.
