Excellent but...
- Pros: Its nice to fill in that 3.5" bay in my tower. Makes the system look complete. Takes even those old flash cards from the first generation digital cameras.
- Cons: Well having the USB cable going out the back of the computer only to plug into a USB port is cumbersome. Also I don't have a spare IDE to hook up the floppy drive. It should have been tied into the USB. Design is fair.
- Pros: The flash reader is included. It has an extra escutcheon for those who have a white/beige motif.
- Cons: Two drives now and not one has a floppy that works. If I could throw an egg I would, as the scale has no negative eggs. Floppies are used so little, most of the people that bought one probably don't know that the floppy part doesn't work. My original intent was to buy just a floppy, but thought, what the heck, two for a little more. Well, at least I got one, the reader.
- Other Thoughts: Whoever heard of running a cable out of the cpu case and then back in via the usb sockets on the outside? Also, what's with the midget CD's? Try putting those in a trayless DVD/CD drive.
pretty good
- Pros: It can read SDHC, comes with choice of white or black (change the faceplate that's in the box), and the cable is long enough to hide in the case to make it's way out the back. No drivers needed, works with windows 7.
- Cons: I gave this 4 eggs because it would have REALLY been nice to have this hook to an internal header. The floppy uses a 40-pin cable and power separately from the card reader, which draws from the usb. It's basically a card reader sandwiched with a floppy drive, as two separate units in one fixture.
- Other Thoughts: I didn't install the drivers, and you probably wont need to either. I had planned on not installing them when i bought it. DO NOT "safely remove" the drive when you're done using whatever is in that particular drive. Otherwise, you'll have to unplug the cable and plug it back in.
