4 out of 5 eggsCAREFUL WITH DRIVERS

Comments: Okay, I bought this card about a year ago. At that time everything worked well, the TV, the DVD, and etc. then out of the blue the "TV guide" when down on me. So, I updated the drivers.... WHAT A MISTAKE! TV froze the PC and I couldn't use the DVD player, or the remote wonder. I called ATI about the problem and they didn't know what to do and said that couple of people where having this problem. For the record I did everything by the books (i.e. uninstalling the MMC and CAT). I went back to the stock drivers and MMC. I still can't use the remote wonder.

If anyone can help I would love to hear it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Ok for the bottom reviews of course this card doesn't support dual monitors or dual video cards...maybe you missed under the "Ports" area "DVI: 1" & "SLI Supported: No" under the "General" area. Anyways I have had this card for 10 months, but I never had a problem so I don't know about customer service ATI has, but don't rate the card bad due to the people! It's the card you rate duh. The card is great for the TV Turner feature and it can play these games (HL2, Doom 3, Swat 4, BF2 & A lot more) at high or med settings depending if it is at 1024x768 or 1280x1024. Not the BEST video card for hardcore gamers, but for a all around person that likes games and likes the TV Turner....its a great card for the price. Remember this card may have 128mb of DDR, but it out performs the cheap and some middle range 256mb cards any day. If you don't believe me simple do the math between the memory & core speeds, pipelines and features it supports.

1 out of 5 eggsnot okay

Comments: Apparently my first review, a scathing indictment of ATI, it's product and it's customer service (there isn't ANY since they don't answer the phone), was tagged as over the top and simply too much for the average consumer's sight and mind since it is not present here. Therefore I will tone it down. I have a computer. It was okay. I bought this card. Now it’s not. I have a wallet. It was okay. I bought this card. Now it’s not. I called customer service (over and over and over and international number and…) because they’ll make it okay. But they don’t answer…. so it’s not. Yeah ATI!

5 out of 5 eggsDont buy it

Comments: If you want to play games dont buy this. it crashes alot and flickers alot. It seems very unstable. I am going to get a different card. I have the 9800 pro 256 mb ddr on my other comp and it works fine but this one is much different.

2 out of 5 eggsNo Dual Monitor Available

Comments: I bought this card wanting to be able to use it to play half life 2 and world of warcraft. It works fairly well for those (although it cannot play warcraft at 1600x1200 resoulution... something I felt it should be able to do). The two main problems that I have with this card is that I the tv tuner barely works. On top of that, I cannot run dual monitors. I installed a second video card to run it and it will not work. I wrote to ATI and the response said that the 9800 will not work correctly with other video cards installed.

3 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Comments: I bought this card for HL2 and Doom 3 and it worked great. Now I'm done with those games and wanna have some fun with its multimedia function. Guess what? It doesn't work. IT NEVER WORKS. It crashes all the time. I went through 3 driver updates, and it still doesn't work. This card is only good for 3d games.

5 out of 5 eggsCustomer Disservice

Comments: ATI customer service is perfunctory and truncated.

ATI customer service adamantly refuses to support the installation CD as to anything other than the ATI driver.

3 out of 5 eggsFine for Gaming, Terrible for HTPC

Comments: I upgraded from a 9800pro to this card so that I could watch TV at my computer, and still have the great level of graphics. The latter stayed the same, this card is getting old, but still plays the newest games pretty well. The Media part of the card is horrible, the software more specifically. The TV program always crashes, it doesnt matter if im recording a show, or just watching tv, it will always crash on me. I've bought Snapsteam Beyond TV (3.7.4) and it's 500% better in interface, stability, and "TiVO likeness." If you buy this card, you're going to find you need to spend more money on a TV program that works!

3 out of 5 eggsOverheats

Comments: I got this card this past December and it worked fine when I got it, for about a week that is. Then it started overheating everytime I even turned my computer on so I had to get a RMA and had this other one in now. Worked fine up until now because it is also overheating whenever I go into CS:S now. Money would be better spent on a 6600GT or something.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Reliable Card

Comments: This card has served me well. This is a great card for mild gamers. It has a little bit of a hard time keeping up with the newest games out. It is great only taking up one slot for the video card and TV tuner. I bought the heatsink/fan that blows outside the case, cause this gets a little warm. Over all, this is a great all around card.
