5 out of 5 eggsAs described

Pros: It's a nice old board that works well, for less than 30 bucks shipped. It was nice to get a recent catalyst 7.7 driver disk with it. The OEM package included the pictured molex to floppy power splitter, too.

Cons: I'd hoped for but didn't get; an "L" shaped (256 bit) memory, and the softmod to 8 pipes isn't perfect - AtiTool shows a few pixel errors. The 4 stock pipes are error free, so I can't complain. There's no temperature monitoring or fan speed control, but I don't smell smoke and I can't hear the fan.

Other Thoughts: This wasn't a serious gamers card when it was new, and it's several generations old now; but, it supports a legacy computer and I'm happy with it. Newegg packed it well and ALWAYS ships fast.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great card for the price if you are a average gamer. This card installed with no problems had it up and running within 5 minutes from package to machine.Never hurts to check driver updates with ATI, and the overclock on it is very easy. Put this in a older machine to play guild wars with and runs great no glitches no problems.
Would buy another buy newegg had the X850 on sale cheap!
Thanks guys!

Cons: cant find a single bad thing to say, very easy, even a newbie could manage this.

4 out of 5 eggsvery good card with a little tweaking

Pros: My card came with a higher vpu core, site says 325 mhz, mines came in at 378 mhz with no overclocking, sames as a 9800 pro, I used the omega drivers to unlock the other 4 cores, everything seems to work ok, then I overclocked the mem to 310.5 mhz ddr, runs very stable at these speeds. Basicly I have a 9800 pro with a slower 128 bit mem instead of the full blown 256 bit, but cant beat it for the $xx I paid. Better then any low end card at the same price.

Cons: none for its intended porpuse, light gaming

3 out of 5 eggsBetter off with 9600 Pro

Pros: Inexpensive 1.5 volt card. Purchased to replace older GForce2 in an older Dell. Simple installation and compatability.
Decent performance for older games.

Cons: Couldn't overclock much.
Didn't bother flashing to unlock all 8 pixel pipelines for low end computer. Low success rates with softmods.

Other Thoughts: Installed in minutes without any problems. Comes with own 4 pin power lead with molex, and driver disk. Plays CSS at 1024x768 just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGood buy @ a bargain price

Pros: Runs flawlessly, Cheap, Can be overclocked easily, Ran on my origional 250W PS with no problems.

Cons: Dinky heatsink, no memory heatsinks.

Other Thoughts: This is a great card, it's cheap and runs well. My card has been perfectly stable even over clocked to 338gpu, 354mem. I know the GPU is rated @ 350mhz but by lowering the GPU and upping the MEM you can get much faster frame rates. The trade off is lower texture quality, but faster frame rates. And the oppisite is true clocked @ 382GPU, 299MEM. A really good upgrade @ a fleamarket price!

4 out of 5 eggsFairly Good

Pros: Displays clear/clean video and renders 3D smoothly with great detail.

Cons: Installation CD was damaged or currupt, possibly done durring shiping.

Other Thoughts: Have been using this card since Christmas in a custom built PC. I have had no issues with card or its hardware since the first bootup. It has run clean, clear, and fast* (compaired to previous cards I've owned).

The only problem I encountered was that the install/drivers CD was currupt/damaged. This most likly happoned durring shiping. Only a small portion of the disk seemed effected leading me to beleave it was the result of rough handling on the shiping company's part. I was able to go to the manufacturer's site and download the needed software, thus, no real harm done.

5 out of 5 eggsbetter the my geforce3

Pros: Bought this card on a budget to replace my 3 yr old broken ti200...much better overall performannce and fast shipping as usual

Cons: the obvious from previous posts

Other Thoughts: just the thought that this card can run 8 pipelines and comes with only 4 is just stupid

Comments: rolled the dice and came up snake eyes... i bought the card
expecting to get a 128bit card, hopeing to get a 256bit card, so i
cant be upset with what i have. stock the card is ok. it plays bf-dc
on medium good, tribes2 same, Day of Defeat great. did the omega
softmod 9800SE option and had artifacts galore, then i used the
regular omega drivers and bumped up the core and mem, and it now
is playing without a hickup on high settings. so ya i did not get a
9800se that can be turned into a pro, which i knew before hand, but
i got a good card that handles the games i play the way i want it to.
all built for under $800.00 thank you newegg and fedex. will shop
with yall again.
