4 out of 5 eggsGood Card/No DVI adapter

Pros: Great features, excellent quality. I have been very pleased with the quality of video capture and playback. MUCH more quiet than my old X850XT (didn't play enough games to justify the noise). ATI has always made a high quality product and this one does not disappoint.

Cons: No DVI to VGA adapter. I repeat: NO DVI to VGA adapter. Gaming performance is weak, so don't buy for games (duh, it's an x1300 GPU). Also, it took a while to get it to work well with my monitor as it kept thinking that my primary was the secondary which is a problem when you only have one monitor.

Other Thoughts: I would have given it 5 "eggs" if it would have come with a DVI to VGA adapter. Even so, it's worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: Fantastic picture, and overall very inexpensive. Does not overheat for me like others say it does.

Cons: The video feed could be a little clearer.

4 out of 5 eggsnice card with latest drivers

Pros: I really like this card overall. For the price, it offers very good graphics performance for most recent games. The extra media center features (TV and FM tuners) really make this card a great value.

Cons: As others have mentioned, the drivers on the CD shipped with this card have serious defects. In particular, they will not reliably tune any channel above 62 or so. Do not even waste your time installing the drivers on the CD -- instead, go directly to the ATI (AMD) site, download the latest drivers, and install those. This solved my problems, and I can now tune all my analog channels just fine.

I think the program guide as shipped with the Catalyst Media Center is a bit ugly. They could have designed a nicer software solution that integrates well with the TV application.

ATI support is not the greatest. I found their support website to be confusing and unhelpful with regard to the aforementioned drivers issue.

Other Thoughts: Does not ship with a remote, although you can obtain one separately from ATI.

2 out of 5 eggsbetter value found elsewhere

Pros: Guide-Plus software that downloads TV schedules

Cons: Poorly-tested software that STILL doesn't deliver 10 months after purchase.

Other Thoughts: Purchased in Jan 2006. Out of the box, failed to tune analog cable channels above 63. NINE MONTHS LATER (!!!), ATI _finally_ releases software update that allows tuning channels 64 and above -- but still fails to preserve tuner window size when closing and reopening. Software support is pathetic. Even more pathetic is that ATI released this product with partially functional software and took over 9 months to correct deficiencies.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive all in one solution

Pros: - It could fit smaller cases or SFF PCs should you need to build a HTPC
- Does not require a power adapter, thanks to ATI new 90nm manufacturing process.
- Less energy consumption, thus reducing heat.
- Appropriate for quiet environments where the AIW x1800 noise could be an issue.
- Multimedia features of are plenty for this price bracket
- Stackable blocks with input and output for S-Video, Composite & audio
- Nice software package.
- Capture is very good

Cons: - TV output wasn’t that good

Other Thoughts: Besides the hardware itself, you are getting a nice software package.
You won't be able to find a similar product in this price range and with all the features included in this package.

5 out of 5 eggsToo much time spent

Pros: Great Video Card and a Great TV Tuner

NewEgg is great!

Cons: ATI Knowlegebase and Support

Other Thoughts: Beware! If your PC's primary boot is not C, the TV capture card will not work properly. I spent several weeks going back an forth with the ATI tech support until I finally provided them the solution to the problem and they verified for me that it would correct my issue. Here is the fix that they finally sent to me:

You need to make the following registry changes, after you have backed up your registry.

Modify the following keys :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\Features\DTVShift

Change the drive C: listed to the letter of your boot drive.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\Features\DTV\Tshift\DTV

correct the Drive letter for the DVR folder accordingly.

Reboot the system.

5 out of 5 eggsUp and running

Pros: I use this in a quiet, energy effecient, cool running, micro-ATX under my VCR.

ATI Multimedia Center has great functionality and able to work flawlessly accross multiable HD and analog tuners. FM tuner is nice.

When I have friends over this makes a good gaming card in a pinch, plays all games (newer games have no AA or high detail enabled).

Can use Avivo.

Cons: Almost every A/V connector type, but using them all makes about 14 diffrent cables, very hard to manage.

Needs remote! RemoteWonder II is the best ATI remote, and best under $100 remote.

MediaCenter software uses alot of RAM.

Like all tuners so far, it Cannot change the digital channels on cable or satalite (need to plug the sat/cable box into the tuner to get sat/cable channels)

Other Thoughts: This card is a great tuner with a advanced videocard (just clocked a little slow) all in one package, great for SFF or microATX home theater PCs.

I used this to make a $xxx hometheater PC.
