This review is from: SAPPHIRE 1007 Radeon 9600PRO 256MB 128-Bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card
Pros: Nice OEM PCI-E x16 card, perfect for a low budget build. Recent games were surprisingly playable at low settings. Could be modded for low profile cases with an appropriate bracket. Runs silent and a little warm to the touch under heavy 3d use. Received exactly as pictured. NewEgg service is the best -- ex ovo omnia.
Cons: Not what I wanted, but tested fine on WinXP. Was listed on NewEgg as 9600Pro -- an error, I think. Nowhere else is it anything less than a 4 pipe Radeon X1000 family GPU. The back of the card bar-code label shows "X1300 256M DDR2 ...." No temp/fan monitoring or control.
Other Thoughts: GPU-Z 0.2.3 shows "Radeon X1550 series", 90nm and "RV505", 4 ROPs, 4 Pixel & 2 vertex shaders and shader model 3.0. Fill rates: 1.8 GPixels/s and 1.8 GTexels/s, and 12.5 GB/s bandwidth. Actual clock speeds are 446 MHz core, 392 MHz DDR2 (256MB x 128bit).
